Locusta To Embark On New Tour Dates

After a two-year hiatus, the Ohio technical grinding death metal peddlers in Locusta will be embarking on a live takeover through the East Coast this Spring.

Slated to commence on May 13th in Raleigh, North Caroline, Locusta will rape faces through Columbia, Knoxville, Columbus, Washington DC, Baltimore, Brooklyn, Providence, Portland, Philadelphia, Harrisonburg and Richmond with additional incursions to be announced in the coming weeks. The band will be joined by drummer Alex Tomlin (Battlemaster, Arsis, Withered et al).

Locusta is currently putting the finishing touches on an as-yet-untitled full-length tentatively scheduled to drop later this year. Comments the band of the forthcoming live offensive:

"We're looking forward to hitting the road again after such an agonizingly long break from touring and to what we're anticipating will be some of the best shows we've ever played, both in respect to the caliber of the bands we're billed with and the fact that our live sets sound tighter than they ever have before. Our set lists will mostly contain songs from the new album, including the first track we've ever written that extends past the nine-minute mark, which is easily the darkest and most epic piece of music we've written so far. There is more grinding technicality than before, but the songs are also much more mature from a songwriting point of view than what you hear on our first album. We're excited to be sharing this time in the band with all of our new and old friends on the road, but...no survivors."

15 Reasons Releases New Music Video

The Belgium-based group 15 Reasons has released a brand new music video for "Alyson Wonderland," which comes off the band’s third full-length album "The Art Of Commitment" released in late March via Graviton Music Services.

Check out the video, directed by Gwendoline Baye, in the YouTube player below. When asked why the band chose this song as its lead video the answer was easy: “15 Reasons is known for rather long, epic songs often running past the 7 minute mark. This was our shortest, craziest and fastest song which made it the perfect choice for a rocking video!"

The song was one of the last ones written for the album and almost didn’t see the light of day. In a last minute creative burst, the track was written and recorded in just one afternoon. Stay tuned for another video in the months to come. You can also stream all of "The Art Of Commitment" at this location.

NeverWake Inks Deal With Melodic Revolution

NeverWake has signed a multi-album deal with U.S. label Melodic Revolution Records, which comments:

"NeverWake covers a lot of ground between Rock and Metal and have been described as blend of Bullet For My Valentine and Trivium. The bands sophomore album 'SleepWalker' is an epic album crafted at Innovation Studios with producer and engineer Mike Ofca and mastered under legendary engineer Ted Jensen at Sterling Sound.

"Their style is a sinew of melodic vocals and dark guitar harmonies overtop a heavily distorted foundation. Through breakdowns and shredding leads underneath an eerie Burtonesque theme, they strive to unite the genres they cover. 'SleepWalker' is an amplification of NeverWake’s haunting sound, immersing the listener into a sea of instrumental complexity, including faster riffs, technical drum patterns and harmonized melodic vocality.

"But there’s a twist… This is the first step into NeverWake’s semi-conceptual series of albums. Unlike most concept albums, the music can be felt and understood regardless of knowing the underlying story. Each song on 'Sleepwalker' is open for individual interpretation and stands on its own, but also has a fitting place within the script. This gives listeners a chance to enjoy the music with or without knowing the developed themes. Walk with us as the story comes to life. NeverWake has started working on their yet untitled upcoming release, in this series.

"NeverWake came to our attention via Dino Giovannone and Joe Macre at Atomic Cowboy Productions and Management; we feel this band is the perfect fit for Melodic Revolution Records as our goal has always been to take in great untapped hard working talent and work hand in hand to reach the next level. NeverWake has the potential of becoming the next big international act and touring band with their brand of rock-n-roll and strong musical skills."

The band also comments: "We would like to thank Melodic Revolution Records for taking interest and believing in NeverWake. We also would like to thank Atomic Cowboy Productions for picking us up and making this connection possible. Most importantly we want to thank our family friends and fans. We promise to bring great things to all people affiliated with NeverWake. Let's make more awesome music!" More...

Novembers Doom Reveals New Album Details

Chicago outfit Novembers Doom will release a ninth studio album titled "Bled White" on July 15th, 2014 via The End Records.

The follow-up to the group’s 2011 full-length "Aphotic" was recorded at Belle City Sound with engineer Chris Wisco (Jungle Rot, Nachtmystium) handling recording and co-production duties.

Dan Swano (Bloodbath, Nightingale) spearheaded the mixing for all eleven tracks on "Bled White." The band also comments:

“Every time a band writes and records a new album, they always say things like 'This is our best yet!' and it usually isn’t. Is this our best yet? I’ll let you decide that, since opinions are all objective. What I will say is this… We approached Bled White differently than the past. We put a lot more focus on vocal melodies and harmonies this time around, creating a new soundscape for Novembers Doom.

"The music is punishing at times with my heaviest growls to date, and others will take you to a new place entirely for us exploring new ground. It’s very different at times, but it remains Novembers Doom. I won’t say it’s our best, but I’ll tell you it’s the one I’m most proud of… OK. It’s our best yet.”

The band plans to tour the U.S. and Europe in 2014 in support of this new studio release. The track listing is as follows:

01. Bled White
02. Heartfelt
03. Just Breathe

Blake Judd Restarting Hate Meditation

Nachtmystium has officially come to an end and is gearing up to release final album "The World We Left Behind" on June 10th, 2014. The band has now issued the following update about other projects:

"Although Nachtmystium is no more, Blake Judd is continuing his musical voyage via his long-time side project and now main band, Hate Meditation.

"For those of you who are not familiar with Hate Meditation but are Nachtmystium fans, Hate Meditation was originally started in 2003 by Judd as a side project from Nachtmystium. The 2003 three song demo 'Condemned to Death' was recorded and released in very small numbers on cassette and distributed within the black metal underground. The project then lie dormant for nearly ten years.

"In 2012, Judd revived the project and recorded the bands debut album 'Scars,' which was released on Indie Recordings, Norway. 'Scars' is a piece of ugly, filthy black metal that pays homage to the early 90's Scandinavian sound heavily. Below you will find a video via youtube of the albums opening track 'The Deceiver and the Believer.' Have a listen and add the Hate Meditation facebook page to your 'likes' to keep up on the project.

"Musically, Hate Meditation's future recordings will pick up where Nachtmystium left off. The first live assaults are being planned for summer 2014 in the United States and their are plans to hopefully be in Europe in early 2015." More...
