Svart Record has announced June 13th as the international release date for "As All Seasons Die," the third album by Finnish funeral doom Profetus. The label comments:
"...awaiting, as the white cloak of winter falls down, the day's trespass begins, spring waves break free. The moving shapes of ice, swelling into the northern shores, the green temple of forests, deep into the soul of man. When old watchfires start to kindle at the lakeside, piercing a mind into fathomless distance, cascading into the loneliness of solemn summer nights. The hum of wind in the trees, brief as the days now passed, withering to an early grave. Tears fall, like cold dew on the fields, the mist escapes the autumn shores, soon to join the winters glacial embrace.
"The spirits are passing home... This is the sound of Profetus' As All Seasons Die: a noble visit to nature's chapels with four songs of honest, crushing doom metal, drawing inspiration from the down-hearted side of the Scandinavian mind and Finnish nature in all of its beauty, soulful prosperity and ponderous bleakness."
The track listing is as follows:
1. The Rebirth of Sorrow
2. A Reverie (Midsummer's Dying)
3. Dead Are Our Leaves Of Autumn
4. The Dire Womb Of Winter

Rhode Island's Fucking Invincible has a new track out today titled "Ape As Man/Man As Ape" that can be heard below thanks to Decibel Magazine.
Rounding out at a only a minute in length, the damageability factor of this belittling ditty hammers your skull in with a malicious, high-octane whirlwind most of the way through, then in an unforgiving turn of events, slows down to less than half speed for the gnarly ending.
It's a perfect example of what's in store for you on Fucking Invincible's "It'll Get Worse Before It Gets Better" debut LP. You can also hear the previously posted "Dead Dogs" here, or see the band live:

Lullacry returns for the very last time with a 2CD compilation and a new song performed by the original "Be My God" era lineup.
Beginning today, "Legacy 1998-2014" is available for pre-order on iTunes here. When the album is ordered you will receive an instant-grat track download of the song "Hell on High Heels." Spinefarm Records is handling the compilation release, and the label comments:
"Legacy 1998-2014 will give you a great idea of a band that conquered open-minded mainstream audiences as well as please those who have followed the steady and driving progress shown by Lullacry ever since they started out in 1998. Hooklines that won't leave you untouched and a vast amount of dominating melodies with a crafting heaviness in delivery are the main key to the band's irresistible appeal.
"Helsinki, Finland 1998: Lullacry release their first album Sweet Desire on Heart, Trust and Respect Records, then moving to Spinefarm for their 2001 sophomore release, entitled Be My God. Century Media, enticed by the alluring strains, licensed the album and released it in parts of Continental Europe and North America, further expanding their growing worldwide fan base. Promoted by a European tour supporting Edguy, performing live proved that their music and the band was tailor-made for the stage.
"Due to differences then vocalist Tanya left Lullacry, replaced by the hypnotically beautiful and vocally dazzling Tanja. Crucify My Heart (2003) was called by Outburn the band's best album to date having 'the catchiest damn choruses imaginable.' Lullacry then made their first North American appearance at 2003's Milwaukee MetalFest. Once home they recorded 2004's Fire Within EP and promptly returned to North America performing on a sold-out tour supporting Nightwish. More...

Swedish Viking black metal-tinged act King Of Asgard has announced "Karg" as the title of the band's third album. "Karg" will be released the 22nd of July, 2014 via Metal Blade Records. You an hear the first single "The Runes of Hel" below, or pre-order a copy of the album here.
"Karg" is the band's third album, following 2010's "Fi'mbulvintr" and 2012's "…to North." The "Karg" album was recorded with Andy LaRocque at Sonic Train Studios. Comments Jonas Albrektsson and Karl Beckman:
"After well over a year of intensive writing, we finally reached the point where everything is put into finish. When countless hours of hard work and careful consideration has been completed. This completion, being our third album which at an early stage was titled to 'Karg,' in English, 'Barren.' A word which later on came to form the atmosphere of the whole album and a sense that meanders through more or less all the material. It's darker, it is harsher and more stripped down than our previous releases. More mature, precise and well thought out. A challenge both for us as well as for the observer. Lyrically, we have come closer to our own immediate surrounding and ancestral heritage, based on old legends and tales from our home region, a tribute to our fair and historical countryside. Yet again everything was recorded and mixed in Sonic Train Studios with Andy LaRocque at the helm assisted by Olof Berggren. Even in the phase of recording we used the word Karg as a guideline… and thus, it is upon thee!"
The track listing is as follows:
01. The Runes of Hel
02. The Trickster
03. Highland Rebellion
04. Remnant of the Past
06. The Heritage Throne

Labyrinthe is currently streaming the full "Relentless Misery" album online, which can be heard in the player below. The band also comments:
"First of all, the writing of this album began during the last two tours we were on in early 2013 (some of you may have even heard very early versions of 'The Sound of A Child Drowning' if you came out). Over the past year and a half, Chris, Keating, and I would pretty much just burn down and grind these riffs at my place in Asheville. Hot days, cold days (really cold days), a LOT of Little Ceaser's Pizza #littleceasars, a lot of different experiences and changes happened for all of us over that time, but all the while, we all knew exactly what we wanted to bring with this album. 'Relentless Misery.'
"The whole meaning really boils down to life being a consequence from death because you don't choose to be born, then you live your whole life fearing your inevitable death. Life, in turn, becomes torture. Much of the imagery to be evoked are scenes of wanton torture and psychological dement among scapes of extreme loneliness and hopelessness.
"Huge thanks to everybody who supports us, all our friends and people we haven't met yet. We try to play music we personally like and even if it's just a 'nice stuff, dude,' that means so much because this is truly something we love wholly. Thanks to Justin for fulfilling our vocalist spot and hammering it out despite being the busiest person alive. Big thanks to our dude Keating for sacrificing so much money, time, and effort to really step up and assume engineering and mixing duties to make sure this album happened. We've all wanted this so badly for so long and it's finally happening! Get fucking faded and blast this shit when you hear it! Hope y'all love it!" More...
