Kataklysm Releases "The American Way" Video

Montreal based death metal powerhouse Kataklysm has released a music video for the band's rendition of the Sacred Reich track "The American Way." Check it out below, thanks to Decibel Magazine.

The clip was shot by director Tommy Jones during Kataklysm's recent North American tour with Belgian gore-grinders Aborted.

"Kataklysm as never covered any band before on disc in its 20 year existence,” stated singer Maurizio Iacono. “We decided to change that on the new record and wanted to do something people didn't expect, but also something that stood through time. The message behind the song is still relevant now. The difference today is that it’s a global problem, not only in North America but everywhere.”

“I personally grew up on early thrash metal and Sacred Reich was and is one of my all-time favorite bands. It was very important that we had the blessings from the band to do this video. The guys in Sacred Reich gave us the green light and are happy that we did this. We chose to reconstruct the same type of video they did for it back in the day but in a modern day setting.”

"The American Way" can be heard on the band’s latest album "Waiting for the End to Come," which was released last October via Nuclear Blast records. More...

Eluveitie Unveils New Album Artwork, Release Info

Swiss folk superstars Eluveitie today reveal the title, cover art and the release date for a newly completed album.

The new album is called "Origins," and it will be released in just under three months - on August 1st worldwide, August 4th in England, Scotland and Ireland, and on August 5th in North America. Check out the cover artwork created by Chrigel Glanzmann below. Chrigel also comments:

"Origins deals in-depth with Celtic mythology, or to be more precise, with aetiological tales from Gaul in particular. Hence we're facing strongly mythical as well as spiritual subjects on this album, topics which we have approached very scientifically and in cooperation with several scientists and diverse universities. Many aspects of Gaulish mythology and spirituality remain in the dark nonetheless, while others run through the theme like a golden thread - like this eminent, yet innominate god, for instance, of which the Gauls claimed to be direct descendants and which was compared to the Roman chtonic deity Dis Pater.

"Today we cannot say which Gaulish god this was exactly. But according to all we know it's likely that we're dealing with Sucellos here. Throughout space and time he appears over and over again - from very old spiritual customs of ancient Gaulish tribes in today's northern Spain all the way to later statues in today's Switzerland, France and elsewhere.

"Perhaps he is this mysterious nameless one. The album cover of Origins is designed after the hammer/club-shaped 'halo' of Sucellos, as seen on a statue, that was found in a shrine of a gallo-roman household in today's France. It was created under the scientific supervision of experts from the university of Zürich.” More...

Black Sabbath To Play Final Show This Summer?

In a new interview with Metal Hammer magazine, Black Sabbath guitarist Tony Iommi has admitted that touring with the band is affecting his health and that their show at the upcoming British Summer Time festival in Hyde Park, London, could be their last ever. Speaking to the magazine, Iommi stated:

"It could be the last ever Sabbath show. I don't want it to be, but there's nothing really planned touring-wise after that show, so for all we know that could be it really. To be honest I don't want to be touring to this extent too much longer, because it makes me feel so bad.

"But the show at Hyde Park will a great way to end the European tour,” he says. “It has a really great bill, with a really good mix of people. We haven't made any specific plans as the gig is a way off yet, but I think it'll be special."

More information will be revealed as soon as it becomes available.
