Eden Circus has inked a deal with Lifeforce Records, and the label had this to say about the band:
"Eden Circus' musical roots reach down to the nineties and they sound like modern postmetal, postrock and progrock bands. They're aware of that and don't intend to avoid it.
"Eden Circus are complex, with a distinct affinity for technical details. At the same time they try to make music that would work even without the details. Eden Circus are angry and opulent, solemn and with a knack for kitsch. they laugh about it, and yet it happens anyways. No holding back – when they're on stage and pathos and anger makes them smile, they know it was the right way to go. The band's music is inspired by every art that touched them. They play around with these influences until something new evolves, something good.
"In the years after the band's formation, Eden Circus chose an unusual path. No concerts, no releases. The creative process – trial and error, the gathering of ideas – was more important than the urge to perform on stage. The band in its present state used to only exist in it's members' imagination, there was no musical guideline to be followed. Every single member was also engaged in other musical projects that were not without significance, yet lacked longevity. More...
Following a full decade off the grid, San Francisco-based noise/sludge rock trio, The Cutthroats 9, marks its proud re-invasion of the human population once again in 2014, confirming a new spew of tour dates as well as a brand new LP set for release in June. The following press release was issued about the band's return:

With longtime skinsmasher Will Carroll (Old Granddad, Death Angel) returning to the lineup, and the addition of bassist Tony Baumeister (-16-, Aeges) joining founding guitarist/vocalist Chris Spencer (Unsane, Celan), Dissent was recorded and mixed at Louder Studios with producer Tim Green (Melvins, Bikini Kill, Dystopia, The Fucking Champs, Wolves In The Throne Room) where the band recorded their 2000-released self-titled debut LP, bringing everything full-circle fifteen years later."

Available now from Poland's blastmasters at Selfmadegod Records is the first new full-length from Boston's Psycho in twenty-two years... behold the blazing barbarianism of "Chainsaw Priest."
The full album is now available online and can be heard below, and you can pick up your own copy of the album at this location. Selfmadegod Records comments:
"Psycho has been shredding their way through the population since 1981. Formed as a punk band, the material simply grew faster and more extreme until it became the high-speed grind/thrash mutation their extensive discography of EPs, splits and albums reflects, never following current trends, nor trying to make it sound technical. The band's discography stretches back to 1982 with the release of their debut 12" 8 Song EP, followed one year later by the Son of 8 Song EP 7" EP.
"Three years later they released their debut LP, Hosebags From Hell, two years later the You Love Us... You Hate Us... LP and then four years later the legendary 10" picture disc LP, Riches and Fame, was unleashed upon the masses. Several EPs and splits with Anal Cunt, Agathocles, Meat Shits, Out Cold, Rot, Nasum and more would drop throughout the '90s. After a twelve year stretch of silence, in 2008 Psycho released a double LP collection of early studio recordings as well as a self-titled CD/DVD. Selfmadegod released their The Grind Years compilation CD in 2010, after which the band dropped two limited 7" EPs before setting up to record their first new LP in over two decades, Chainsaw Priest.
"Cranking out seventeen new tracks in under twenty-nine minutes, Chainsaw Priest delivers a lethal dose of rampant, fierce grindpunk of the stripped-down, frantic variety, yet it's not without its mid-paced calculated killing sprees. Old-school, simplistic and more punk than metal, the tracks PSYCHO delivers here are quite potent in contrast to many of the overproduced and metallic guttural grindcore acts of the modern breed. It's creepier that way. The album even closes with a scathing cover of the Plasmatics' 'Want You.' Diehards of Agathocles, S.O.B., Unseen Terror, Pungent Stench, Unholy Grave and most stripped and ripped punk/grind acts out there should no doubt tie on a smock and get ready to rock, and rip the guts out of everything in sight to Chainsaw Priest." Pagan black metal outfit Zgard today premieres the new track "Underworld Bells," which can be heard below, courtesy of NoCleanSinging.com.
The song is the closing track to Zgard's forthcoming "Contemplation," set for international release on June 23rd through Svarga Music. The album will be released in a regular jewel-case CD version and a digipack version limited to 100 copies. The following press release was also issued about the band:
"For the past four years, one-man Ukrainian band Zgard has been patiently developing an intensely personal vision of pagan-oriented black metal. Now, with the release of fourth album Contemplation, Zgard mastermind Yaromisl has perfected his craft, showing a rawer yet no-less-grandiose side that vividly illustrates the Carpathian mysticism at the heart of that craft. Compared to its celebrated predecessors, 2012's Reclusion and 2013's Astral Glow, Zgardhere go for an atmosphere that's less cosmic and more organic, stirring both bloodlust and majesty within the listener as Yaromisl guides each of the seven tracks along an epic path. As always, the native folk touches are at the forefront but never threaten to overwhelm. As a title, then, Contemplation is more than fitting."
The track listing is as follows:
2. Through the Forest
3. Incarnation Memory
4. Wedge of Cranes
7. Underworld Bells More...

Talking with The Aquarian Weekly’s JJ Koczan in 2011, vocalist Ben Ward noted, “it would have been nice to play for our US fans and promote Healing Through Fire, but for some reason or another, it just never materialized.” Orange Goblin would not return to America until 2011; the tour put together to promote the release of a limited 5 CD box set released by Rise Above/Metal Blade Records. It was during The Aquarian Weekly interview that Ward enthusiastically said, “we’re finally going to get the opportunity to play the material from Healing Through Fire for American audiences. After a massive fan uproar occurred when new single "Cusp of Eternity" and pre-orders for Opeth's 11th album "Pale Communion" didn't materialize as promised on May 6th, Roadrunner Records has now finally issued this announcement online:
"We want new Opeth just as badly as you do, here's an official statement regarding 'Pale Communion:' Roadrunner Records group Opeth has announced that the release of their highly anticipated eleventh studio album, 'Pale Communion' has been reslated for August 26th."
"Many of you have heard the rumours already and we can now confirm that the release of ‘Pale Communion’ has indeed been pushed back to late August,” commented Opeth frontman, Mikael Åkerfeldt. “Several circumstances prevented the band from delivering essential tools to Roadrunner in time which are needed to set up the album release properly and release schedule conflicts made us mutually decide on August instead of June.”
“Pale Communion,” which was produced by the band’s very own Mikael Åkerfeldt and mixed by longtime collaborator and Porcupine Tree frontman/guitarist Steven Wilson, will be heralded by the lead single, “Cusp of Eternity” and available for pre-order starting Tuesday, June 3rd (assuming this same thing doesn't happen again). It's no secret that the members of Anubis Gate are great at what they do. In 2009, they won a Danish Metal Award for Best Production for their album, "The Detached," and were nominated for another two (Best Album and Best Cover Artwork). Their last album, self-titled (reviewed here), brought them even more critical acclaim and a rave review from us. Further, their latest effort, released just in April, entitled "Horizons" (reviewed here) also received high acclaim and another rave review from us. Capturing the eyes of the progressive metal genre with each release has always been Anubis Gate's style, although the concepts at play behind their lyrics may require some extra explaining.
Fortunately, much like their attention to background soundscapes, the band took some time to focus on and reveal the concepts and background of the songs themselves, as well as some of their feelings about them. Drummer Morten Gade Sørensen, bassist/vocalist Henrik Fevre, Guitarist Kim Olesen, and guitarist Michael Bodin sound off below. More...
