Santa Cruz Acoustic Footage Available

A few weeks back Santa Cruz played an acoustic performance at the New York Offices of Spinefarm Records.

The set featured the band's new single "We Are The Ones To Fall," an older track entitled "Aiming High," and a cover version of Led Zeppelin's "Thank You." Metal Injection was on location at the event and filmed the performance - check out the footage below.

The band's debut North American single "We Are The Ones To Fall" is available digitally now, and you can watch the track's music video at this location. "We Are The Ones To Fall" is just a sampling of what people can expect from these young rockers. Ash And Coal Signs With ViciSolum Productions

Swedish band Ash And Coal has signed a worldwide record deal with ViciSolum Productions. The band released the "Agnostica" EP last fall and is currently working on writing material for a new full-length debut, planned to be released in the spring 2015. ViciSolum also comments:

"The prime members of Ash And Coal, Viktor Klint and Adrian Hörnquist, have been playing together on and off since the early 90s. They have explored the extreme parts of metal, rock, hardcore and punk, with focus on the first two genres.

"Different people and different bands have come and go. With Ash And Coal the two take their musical aspirations further. Now reinforced by Magnus Pettersson and Mathias Kamijo on guitars, Ash And Coal is a work in constant progress.

"It’s music that’s formed within a metal framework but that make room for different influences and features. But a clear pattern is in the music: The simple riff and the feeling in the gut. That is the guiding star when the world’s too messy and disrupted." More...

Swedish metal project Norrsköld has released second album "Reflections Of The Night Sky" on Spotify and iTunes, while a physical release is on the way. Today the band has released a guitar playthrough, available below, and Norrsköld also comments:

Spokane instrumental outfit Odyssey has issued the following announcement about finishing up work on a new release:

Solid State Records has issued the following announcement about signing a deal with Forevermore:

Germany's Hard Riot is back with a sophomore album two years after the debut “Living on a Fast Lane” was released. Pitch Black Records comments:

Imperial Triumphant Signs To Code666

The Code666 record label has checked in with the following announcement about inking a deal with Imperial Triumphant:

"Code666 is proud to announce the signing of New York City iconoclastic black metallers Imperial Triumphant to a multi-album worldwide deal. Orchestrating vanguard black metal since 2005 and citing influences from Deathspell Omega to Polish Post-Serialism composer Krzysztof Penderecki, Imperial Triumphant is now working on new album ‘Abyssal Gods’ scheduled for early 2015."

Here’s what frontman Ilya had to say about the new deal: “Imperial Triumphant is honored to be working with a label with such a rich history of great releases. We are excited to add another to their catalogue."

Rude Streaming Full Album

With less than a week to go before its official release via FDA Rekotz, today the new Rude album "Soul Recall" is available for streaming online.

According to FDA Rekotz, the California metal band showcases "the dirtier side of death metal" and will be a shoe-in for fans of Autopsy. Astral Blood Announces Debut EP

Minnesota's Astral Blood is excited to announce the band will unleashed a self-titled debut EP with Tridroid Records. Projected to be released in the Summer of 2014, "Astral Blood" will feature three tracks of haunting atmospheric black metal. Tridoid Records also comments:

"Initially formed in early 2013 by Andrew Rasmussen (drummer from Noble Beast), Astral Blood quickly built a buzz for themselves in the underground scene of Minneapolis. By their second show, the band found themselves as opening act for Tesseract and soon after signed with Tridroid Records. After a couple of line up changes, Rasmussen has now solidified Astral Blood's lineup by recruiting members of Sept of Memnon and Suffering Hour to fill out the band."

Rasmussen also comments: "Our minds and bodies are desperate, languishing shackled in the land of North America, but nothing will ever imprison our souls. We stare out at you from Saturn’s rings. No Sin Evades His Gaze Posts New Music Video

U.K. metal band No Sin Evades His Gaze has a new track out titled "Age Of Sedation," which is the title track off the upcoming album of the same title.

Check out the music video for the song below, and look out for the album release this coming Fall. The video, featuring a monstrous black hole, was shot on location at Ketton Quarry in Rutland in March. It was directed by Richard Oakes of Dark Fable Media who cracked out the CGI. The band also comments:

"We were all astounded at how the video came out. Richard really enhanced the enormity of the location with the CGI effects and inventive camera work. We agreed on 'Age of Sedation' as our debut video because it's heavy and to the point. We also felt that it was the track most suited to the location, which was breathtaking!"

Johnny Wright Posts Guitar Playthrough

Johnny Wright has released a new guitar playthrough clip for the "Materialize" track, which can be found below, and the solo artist also comments:

"This is the official playthrough video for my debut single 'Materialize.' This track was written, recorded, and produced by myself in my home studio.

"Here I'm playing my Schecter Blackjack SLS with active Seymour Duncan Blackouts and that piece at the top of the neck a Fret Wrap by Gruv Gear. All recording and mixing was done in REAPER and I made use of my Line 6 POD HD Pro for most of the tones. Special thanks to Zack Uidl for help with reamping & filming."

Nevergreen Releases New Music Video

Psychotic Gardening Announces Festival Shows

Winnipeg, MB death/doom metal band Psychotic Gardening is proud to announce it will be performing at Calgary Metal Fest and Farmageddon Open Air near Edmonton, AB in support of newly released album "Hymnosis" (reviewed here).

"These festivals are a ton of work to put on, and it's awesome that these kind of events are here to connect the metal community. We respect the efforts put in by the organizers and we're looking forward to delivering a crushing set at each of these festivals, bringing our new album out on the road," comments guitarist Andrew Wiens.
