In a new interview with Metal Hammer magazine, Black Sabbath guitarist Tony Iommi has admitted that touring with the band is affecting his health and that their show at the upcoming British Summer Time festival in Hyde Park, London, could be their last ever. Speaking to the magazine, Iommi stated:

"It could be the last ever Sabbath show. I don't want it to be, but there's nothing really planned touring-wise after that show, so for all we know that could be it really. To be honest I don't want to be touring to this extent too much longer, because it makes me feel so bad.

"But the show at Hyde Park will a great way to end the European tour,” he says. “It has a really great bill, with a really good mix of people. We haven't made any specific plans as the gig is a way off yet, but I think it'll be special."

More information will be revealed as soon as it becomes available.

I HAVE NOTHING BUT RESPECT FOR IOMMI, BUT WHEN HE SAYS THE LAST DATE OF THE EUROPEAN TOUR HAS A REALLY GREAT BILL, I HAVE TO DISAGREE. IT WOULD BE A BETTER BILL WITH WARD.

Glad I was able to see the original 4 members of Sabbath on their reunion tour in '99.

I highly doubt this will be Sabbaths last show. It sounds as though tony does not have a good feeling about his health though...I hope the best for him.

Last year I saw Sabbath play and other than the drummer, I thought the other members of Sabbath were worn out. Ozzy couldn't stay in key and kept forgetting lyrics and Iommi and Butler didn't seem 100%. I thought I was witnessing the Sab for the last time. This article confirms my suspicions. No one can definitively say this will be their last show, but I will say now is the time to see Sabbath before their demise. It might not be this show, but it's not far away.
