Rippikoulu Announces "Ulvaja" Release

Svart Records has announces June 13th as the international release date for Rippikoulu's "Ulvaja." This the cult funeral doom band's first release in 21 years, to be available on CD, vinyl, and digital download. Svart comments:

"The entities behind the cult act Rippikoulu, known for their 1993 tape release Musta seremonia, have been silently lurking in the shadows for the past 21 years. Then, on a particularly cold winter's day in early 2014, a shipment bearing the group's emblem is mysteriously delivered to the Svart bunker, and inside the parcel there is a master tape. The contents reveal an entirely new recording, titled Ulvaja.

"Rippikoulu's Ulvaja is an 18-minute work in three movements. To be released on Friday the 13th in June, Ulvaja oozes the kind of dark despair and negative energy, which is enough to drive the sun out of the skies on any summer's day."

Voyager Posts New Guitar Footage

Australian progressive metal quintet Voyager has launched a guitar demonstration video, titled "Riffing with Simone & Scott" via GearGods.net.

In this new video available below guitarists Simone Dow and Scott Kay spend some quality time together playing riffs from the band's upcoming fifth studio album, "V," out June 3 in North America with distribution through Nightmare Records.

The Kickstarter-funded, 13- track album can be pre-ordered now at this location.

"V" was recorded at Templeman Audio with producer, Matt Templeman. The band calls the release "heavy, groovy and super-catchy. This is going to be pure, polished Voyager with a modern feel; we are insanely excited about unleashing this."

Sterbhaus: "Absolutely Do Not Die!"

Sterbhaus today releases a new video clip for "Absolutely Do Not Die!” as the third and last video in support of the album "Angels for Breakfast ...And God for Lunch."

Stockholm landmarks, Greta Garbo, and a pack of rather unreliable vultures are all part of this visual installment from the Swedish blackened thrash/death fourpiece.

2013 saw Sterbhaus touring Europe extensively with Vader andMelechesh in the spring and with Shining in the fall promoting “Angels for Breakfast …And God for Lunch.” The album was recorded at the now demolished Abyss studio B (Tommy Tägtgren) and mixed by Jonas Kjellgren of Black Lounge.

“Absolutely Do Not Die!” was filmed, directed and edited by Martin Strandberg who is also currently engaged in both the coming Shining documentary, the new Snowy Shaw DVD, as well as his long term involvement in live footage for Sabaton.
