Roadrunner Records has announced WeAreHarlot as the newest members of its roster. Roadrunner comments:
"The acclaimed rock ‘n’ roll band’s much anticipated debut track, 'Denial,' is streaming now at their official YouTube channel, while a free download is available at the just-launched official website here.
"WeAreHarlot – fronted by vocalist Danny Worsnop and guitarist Jeff George alongside bassist Brian Weaver and drummer Bruno Agra – make their live debut at this weekend’s Rock On The Range 2014 at Columbus, Ohio’s Crew Stadium, slated for this Sunday, May 18th. Additional dates will be announced soon. The band recently finished recording their eagerly awaited debut album at The Fortress recording studio in Los Angeles, engineered and mixed by Jay Ruston (Anthrax, Stone Sour). The as-yet-untitled collection is slated to arrive later this year."
“We are beyond excited to be a part the Roadrunner Records family of Artists,” stated Danny, Jeff, Bruno and Brian. “It's been a long road getting here, but nothing was going to or ever will detour this band, and Roadrunner has been there championing us from the beginning. When it came time to sign a deal all the labels came calling, but only one got the call back. Roadrunner Records’ foundations were built on great rock ‘n’ roll bands, bands that we love, and we are here to continue carrying that torch and shaking those foundations. We knew that rock music needed a facelift fast and that real rock ‘n’ roll needed to be back front and center again! That’s why we are here, to bring this music to a whole new generation of people that have been screaming out for what they deserve. Team WeAreHarlot is in place and it's unstoppable! So in closing, thanks again to Roadrunner Records and the entire WeAreHarlot family, this announcement is for us all. What time is the fucking show!?”

Indianapolis grindcore / death metal band Radiation Sickness has announced the recruitment of new guitarist Scott Bronner (ex-Demiricous, Legion).
Scott will be the replacement for the band's previous Guitarist Tom Ball who passed away last month. Originally formed in 1987, Radiation Sickness reunited in 2010 after a long period of inactivity. Founding member Doug Palmer comments:
"We would like to welcome Scott Bronner (ex-Demiricous, Legion) as the new guitar player to Radiation Sickness. This was not a hard call to make, Scott helped make it easier.
"OK after the death of Tom Ball we gave it long thought as to what the future of Radiation Sickness would be. A large part of me said I am done, a larger part of me said I don't wanna do this anymore. Two people killing them self in the same band 23 years apart. It is fucking mind blowing. Tom was not there the first time around but he brought more talent and passion to the table then the guy he replaced ever had. I just find it hard not playing music and with this band, the only band I have ever been in. So Radiation Sickness is moving on. Just as twisted and demented as before. More...
Sometimes, it's just not enough to have an album be heavy, innovative, and consistent. In fact, for the really good ones, it's got to be more. "It has to have some kind of vulnerability to get to me," says vocalist Henrik Fevre of the monumental progressive metal foursome, Anubis Gate. It has to be able to touch its listeners with sincerity.
Men of their word, the creative forces behind Anubis Gate have been consistently achieving that vulnerability from album to album while still being quite novel in their melodic choices. On their latest album, "Horizons" (reviewed here), the members stretch out in a few new directions, adding in nods to older rock and 80s pop, as noted in their earlier release of the "Sheep" EP, featuring covers of Pink Floyd's "Sheep" and Mr. Mister's "Broken Wings."
Speaking to Metal Underground, they opened up a little more about the inner workings of "Horizons." More...
