Enbilulugugal Announces 2CD Release

On October 29th, Crucial Blast will unload a demolishing cyclone of hyperblast blacknoise musical scum with the seventy-nine song, 2xCD "Noizemongers For Goatserpent" by experimentalist Enbilulugugal. The following press release was issued about the album:

"Enbilulugugal's debut album Noizemongers For Goatserpent was a putrid eruption of low-fi black metal, harsh noise and experimental, anti-musical weirdness that arrived with a splat on the black/noise underground in 2004, infused with a Black Legions-style mix of weird invented mythology and garbled language. The album first appeared as a super-limited CDR released by the now-defunct Rusty Axe label, a home for some of the most demented experimental black metal of the past decade, and has been out of print in the physical realm for nearly a decade. It's been one of Crucial Blast's favorite releases from the band, a vicious, hideous mass of churning blackened hatred and brain-warping chaos that has now been resurrected as a deluxe double disc set that features more than an hour and a half of bonus filth, all re-mastered for maximum ear-hate by Enemata Productions, and presented in a new digipack design with artwork from acclaimed underground illustrator Jeff Zornow.

"The first disc features the original Noizemongers for GoatSerpent album, a twenty-nine 'song' assault of hyper-distorted blasphemy blasted out in minute-long eruptions of noise and violence. Barbaric black metal riffs and monotonous, primitive blastbeats are bathed in corrosive static, while bursts of stomping, catchy punk rock, insane cut-up experiments and harsh electronic noise all surface within Enbilulugugals bubbling bouillabaisse of blackened filth; a brain-damaged meeting between the primitive savagery of Von, early Beherit and Ildjarn, and the extreme psychedelic electronics of Japanese noise groups like Masonna and Incapacitants that reaches some sublime moments of ear-shredding evil and infectious necro-chaos.

"The other half of the first disc has Izedis's TnepreStaoG Rof SregnomezioN 'remixes,' which uses the original 'Goatserpent' album as the raw material for an onslaught of extreme electronic noise. The source material is rendered nearly unrecognizable, twisted and transformed by Izedis into washes of ghostly electronic synthdrift and harsh distorted noisescapes, sometimes taking on the appearance of demonic shortwave transmissions coming from outside our Universe, crushing cosmic synth meltdowns, or even more distorted and deformed blasts of glitch-riddled, chopped up black noise. Sunday Old School: Sarcófago

Brazil, home of some of the most beautiful scenery, the most gorgeous women and most enjoyable football the world has ever seen. They’re also pretty great at producing extreme music, which is hardly a surprise given the contrasting violent history of the South American country. Of course, the most famous of these bands would be Belo Horizonte’s, Sepultura, which was founded by the Cavalera brothers, Max and Igor. While Max is widely regarded as the voice of Sepultura, he was not the first. That honour belongs to a man named Wagner Lamounier, who left the band before they were able to record anything and in unfriendly circumstances. Shortly after parting company with Sepultura, Lamounier was invited to join a new band named Sarcófago, who were influenced by even more extreme music such as Bathory and Celtic Frost. He adopted the stage name, "Antichrist" after contributing lyrics to the Sepultura song of the same name, while the rest of the band also took the monikers "Butcher," "Incubus" and "Leprous."

The group soon got to work on their first recordings, which surfaced on the compilation album, "Warfare Noise 1" and consequently led them to sign with Cogumelo Produções for their debut album, "I.N.R.I." by which time they had replaced Leprous with D.D. Crazy, the brother of Butcher. "I.N.R.I." was recorded in July 1987 and released the very same month, finding an audience with metal fans that were looking for a harsher sound. Everything about the album, though particularly the music, would prove to be a big influence on the future of black metal, including the corpse paint they adorned on the front cover. It’s impact on the Norwegian black metal scene was particularly well documented, with Mayhem guitarist Euronymous reported to have been obsessed with Sarcófago’s image and felt all black metal bands should look like them, as well as trading letters with Lamounier as the Norwegian black metal scene was beginning to flourish. Noothgrush To Release Split With Coffins

Southern Lord has issued the following announcement about bringing forth a split album release from Coffins and Noothgrush this coming November:

"Coffins from Tokyo, Japan churn out some of the filthiest, nastiest noise this year, while Oakland, California's sludge pioneers Noothgrush rawl from the grave to teach us a lesson in joylessness. Featuring artwork by Josh Graham, this utterly oppressive slab of crushing doom shall be officially released on 12" via Southern Lord in North America on November 26th.

"Noothgrush return with their first new material since they reformed in 2011, and the disdain, the disgust... It hasn't faded one bit. Their gruesome sludge is rooted in the real life, in the misery, hatred and despair of humanity - there are no traces of fantasy or psychedelic moments of horror movie nostalgia in this amoral cut of agonizing doom. With Dino Somesse, the man who personified anguish in '90s crust sludge golden calves, Dystopia, joining the band on vocals, this is a rare ignition of the scum-ridden sludge sound which America hemorrhaged during the last decade of the millennium. Noothgrush's side of the split opens with crawling, pained riffs punctuated with sparse percussion, and then the weight of the world comes down; rasping vocals, disturbing samples, and songs which grab you by the throat and open your eyes to a manmade hell.

"Coffins, the Japanese masters of rocking death-doom, have (once again) succeeded in making exactly the kind of music you would feel comfortable having as your soundtrack whilst riding a Harley Davidson into hell like you own the place. Their hammer comes down heavier than ever on these two tracks, wielding monstrous groove with downright foul tactics. Guttural is an understatement - what comes out of the mouth of vocalist Uchino is a tar-thick gargle with the stench of death, laying to waste whatever living creatures inhale it. Plants will wither, animals scurry, and metal fans... will bang their heads! Channeling the old-school death metal filth of Autopsy with an altogether more rollicking lurch, this is horrific doom metal to rage to." More...
