St. Louis doom metal outfit The Lion's Daughter is pleased to unearth the forbidden fruit from latest full-length, "A Black Sea." Check out the track "Wolves" below courtesy of Cvltnation.com.
A collaborative effort between The Lion's Daughter and somber folk ensemble/fellow St. Louis occupants, Indian Blanket, the initial idea was to create just one special song together, however through musical chemistry, and perhaps some support from Jim Beam and various forms of earthbound psychedelics, what was prearranged as one track mushroomed into a full LP. Misfits, Flag (an assemble of Black Flag's earliest cast) and Subhumans certainly need no introduction to the punk world. The legacy passed down by these artists not only changed the landscape of punk, but music in general. Even though Jerry Only sang Glenn Danzig's parts and Keith Morris was in charge of songs later made famous by Henry Rollins, fans still shouted the words and slammed in manic appreciation. With the exception of Misfits, who played a club show as part of the FFF Nites attraction, the Black stage--the stage I primarily report--focused on punk rock. Day two of my first FFF experience in 2011 operated with a similar punk roots bands The Damned and Negative Approach.
Originally announced as a December release, Legion of the Damned has now revealed "Ravenous Plague" is due out January 7th, 2014 via Napalm Records. The record label also issued the following press release:
"Back in 2004, when Legion of the Damned rose from the ashes of Occult in the Dutch city of Venlo, where the music scene yearned for pure and brutal thrash metal. In 2005, Maurice Swinkels (vocals), Erik Fleuren (drums), Twan Fleuren (bass) and Richard Ebisch (guitar) teamed up with producer Andy Classen and entered his Stage-One-Studio (Nordrhein-Westfalen, Germany) in order to record Malevolent Rapture a true classic of Euro-Thrash!
"Eight busy and productive years later, the quartet comes full circle with the release of their latest album Ravenous Plague that harkens back to their phenomenal debut. Twan Van Geel took over the guitar duties from Richard Ebisch and excels on Ravenous Plague with his skills on the guitar. Hein Willekens has also joined Legion of the Damned on stage as their second guitarist. All these changes are examples of the newly lit fire and newfound strength of the band.
"2014 might prove to be yet another pivotal year for Legion of the Damned, as Ravenous Plague makes it more than clear that the evolution of the band is far from over. The return to Andy Classen as producer duties was a great move, as no one else knows the band better than Classen. The album's introduction was composed by Jo Blankenburg, who wrote music for blockbuster films including such as Harry Potter, X-Men, and 300. Wes Benscoter, who has worked with numerous bands including Slayer, created the artwork for Ravenous Plague. There is a storm brewing in the camp of Legion of the Damned, and it won't be silenced anytime soon." More...
The Colorado natives in Allegaeon will be giving fans one last chance to see them live before they return to the studio to record their third full-length album.
The tour is scheduled to begin on December 1st and concludes on December 21st, with dates throughout Texas, the west coast, and the Pacific Northwest.
Additionally, Allegaeon is happy to announce that guitarist Michael Stancel will be joining the band full time. While in writing mode, Stancel and Allegaeon have been collaborating on new songs. Allegaeon vocalist Ezra Haynes comments on the addition of Stancel to the lineup:
"I'm more than pleased with some of the big changes happening in the Allegaeon camp. We'll be hitting the road this December with our newest addition to the Allegaeon family, Michael Stancel. He filled in for the recently departed Ryan Glisan on our last tour and within just a few shows we knew he was our guy. He has a great head on his shoulders, shares the same interest in the dumb pop music we listen to, shreds like a beast and is ONLY 19 years old! We look forward to forging a great relationship with Michael and can't wait for the rest of the world to hear the final product." More...

Blackened post-metal trio Sannhet this week releases a brand new digital single entitled "Lions Eye," now playing at Pitchfork.com here. The following press release was also issued about the single:
"Featuring two beautifully crushing works from the Brooklyn, New York-based outfit, the succinct but compelling digital-only release contains the songs, 'Lions Eye' and 'You Thy __,' both recorded by Brendan Tobin (Made Out Of Babies, Red Sparrows) at his Ice Cream Audio, and mastered by Carl Saff.
"Sannhet has been performing the songs as part of their live set for the past year, and wanted to put them to tape as to segue the gap between their acclaimed 2013 debut LP, Known Flood, and pending sophomore album coming in 2014.
"Lions Eye is being released in conjunction with the band's friends at Sacrament Music/Saint Vitus Bar, responsible for the release of the Known Flood LP, which was subsequently joined by a CD version via Consouling Sounds."
Stated the band on the new material: "These two songs are a little taste of what we've been working on since Known Flood. We think this release showcases a bit more of the raw intensity people have come to expect from our live shows over the past year."

Australian metalcore outfit I Killed The Prom Queen is back and has officially signed to Epitaph Records worldwide. The band will release a third studio LP in 2014.
Following his stint with Bring Me The Horizon, songwriter and guitarist Jona Weinhofen returns to his role in I Killed The Prom Queen and he states:
"We are absolutely ecstatic to join the Epitaph Records family. Having worked with the label previously with Bring Me The Horizon, I knew exactly what Epitaph was capable of and that it would be the perfect home for I Killed The Prom Queen. Epitaph is already the home to so many of our heroes such as Converge, Refused, Pennywise and Every Time I Die, and has helped launch our good friends Parkway Drive, The Ghost Inside, Day Of Contempt, Letlive. and more. To say that we are a part of this family is truly an honour."
The band has just finalized the recording process in Gothenburg, Sweden with Fredrik Nordström (Bring Me The Horizon, At The Gates, In Flames, Dimmu Brogir, Architects UK), with plans to release the new material in 2014. Jona Weinhofen continues:
"We are dying to get this album out and into the hands of old and new I Killed The Prom Queen fans everywhere. To me this record feels as though I Killed The Prom Queen never took a break and is a natural progression of the band. You will hear hints of our side projects and new influences, but make no mistake, this is an I Killed The Prom Queen record through and through. Its fast, melodic, heavy, catchy and we have added a couple of new elements which really bring it up there with the level of music being created these days." More...

Alpine black/death conjurors Valdur today confirm preliminary details for impending new full-length "At War With," which is the follow-up to the band's 2010 release "Raven Gods Among Us."
"At War With" was recorded at Earhammer Studio with Greg Wilkinson at the helm and is currently being mastered by Michael Z. (Secrets of the Moon, Ascension) at Source Studios, boasting ten psalms of sonic repugnance.
States drummer Matthew bluntly: "I'm not very comfortable trying to put Valdur's music into words, but I think that what is important is that we have the luxury of doing what we want, when we want... and in the end, it will be our music and artwork that will do all the talking."
"At War With" will rise on December 17th, 2013 via BloodyMountain Records. Additional details to be unveiled in due time. An early rough version of the title track is available below. More...
In Process is a groove metal band founded in 2006, based in Helsinki, Finland. After time keeping a low profile, the band went through some lineup changes and was reactivated in the beginning of 2012.
Late last year, the band headed to the studio and recorded a 5-track EP, "Surgery," which contains 17 minutes of aggressive, rhythm-based tribal metal. The lyrics deal with life's difficulties and death stemming from the thoughts that a heart goes through when observing the world around it.
"Surgery" is due out November 29th, 2013 via Inverse Records, and the band is also currently preparing material for a full-length debut album.
For more info on In Process, head over to the band's official Facebook profile here.

The Browning has released a brand new music video for the track "Fifth Kind." which is taken from new album "Hypernova."
The band traveled to the deep south of Savannah, Georgia to film the video at an old monastery in the middle of the woods. The video was produced and directed by Frankie Nasso and Jess Orsburn of Nova Entertainment. The Browning comments:
"The message from the song we're trying to put out is partly that we believe there is more life than just us here on earth, and that instead of forcing a religion on someone and telling them that's what you have to follow and base your life and decisions off of, let everyone find their own way in life.
"Like our lyrics say, 'You don't know the suffering inside me, I don't need your light to guide me', obviously stating you don't know me, I don't need your personal beliefs to influence my life. We're just trying to promote the idea of independent thinking as opposed to being spoon-fed all your ideas and ideologies."
Director Jess Orsburn adds:
"It was an overall positive experience creating this video for 'Fifth Kind.' After driving 20 hours from NYC to Savannah, GA and then shooting until the wee hours of the morning with a super talented group of cast and crew, I couldn't be any happier with what we were able to accomplish. The Browning are such great guys and really gave it their all each and every time they performed the track. It was brutally hot on set but that didn't slow them down one bit. They were incredible and the energy really shows through in the video." More...
