Hells Headbangers today announces the signing of Sacrocurse, a band with membership split between Mexico and Turkey. The following press release was issued about Sacrocurse:
"The band has garnered critical acclaim this summer with the release of their debut demo, 'Sulphur Blessing,' released by Iron Bonehead Productions. But now, Sacrocurse are currently preparing their Hells Headbangers debut album, 'Unholier Master,' tentatively set for May 2014 release on both CD and LP formats.
"Much like the 'Sulphur Blessing' tape, Sacrocurse's 'Unholier Master' will be guided by the evil hand of scene veteran Zolrak Montes, most known for Nodens and Unholier, but also a former member of Morbosidad and Obeisance. Together with help from Turkey's Godslaying Hellblast, Zolrak promises to release yet more unhinged barbarity firmly with the ancient tradition of South American black/death, but again adding a uniquely memorable element to the caustic chaos at hand."
Further details are due to be announced shortly.

Having just received a “Best Album” award by Metal Hammer, Amorphis can mark the year as a true success and is now gearing up to return to the road this fall in support of new album "Circle" (reviewed here).
"The First And Last Days Of Unwelcome," the debut LP from the trio known as Lumbar, is just over a month from release.
The brainchild of Aaron Edge, Lumbar came together earlier this year when he was unexpectedly diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. What would be his final musical endeavor before waves of rapidly-spreading pain engulfed him and extended hospital stays became more than frequent, is now his highest imperative.
On Lumbar's debut album, "The First And Last Days Of Unwelcome," Edge is joined by Mike Scheidt and Tad Doyle, who helped bring this intense and important project to fruition.
The Obelisk recently set up lengthy interrogations with both Edge and Scheidt on the project, with very personal accounts of the creation of the album and its creator's debilitating illness, as well as the first single from the album to be publicly unveiled. Check out "Day Six" at this location. More...

Vancouver, BC based metal band Tribune is streaming the upcoming concept album "Tales" album via Youtube before its official release on Tuesday, October 29th. Check it out below. The following press release was also issued about the album:
'Inspired by the writings of some of the world’s most renowned authors, including H.P. Lovecraft, H.G. Wells, Homer among many others. The follow-up to 2011’s Elder Lore/The Dark Arts, demonstrates Tribune’s brawn and brains with a collusion of extremity and accessibility.
"As the band’s appetite for more extreme metal increased, bands like Carcass, Death and At The Gates began bleeding into their melting pot of influences, resulting in a fresh take on their fine metal sound, which can be heard echoing in the depths of Tribune’s Tales."
The track listing is:
Chapter I – Tales
Chapter II – Insectoid
Chapter III – The Butterfly Effect
Chapter IV – From Funeral To Funeral
Chapter V – Horror
Chapter VI – King of Ithaca

This is their first time playing Phoenix and we're happy to be a part of it. The Austrian black metal philosophers Echelon has posted a unique timeline documentation of the band's upcoming debut LP. Referring to the 13 songs of the album, the timeline is called "A Preview in 13 Pictures" and can be viewed below. Echelon also comment son the upcoming "Vivito! Creato! Moritor!" album:
"The title of the album is a short biography of the four artists who's artistic work is connected throughout centuries and is reduced to only three words.
"However, this conceptual consonance is hidden, subtle. More like a mutter and murmur in the melodies of the past. If you remove melody by melody carefully, silence violins and cellos, fade flutes and bassoons, and trumpets and horns languish, the muttering and murmuring becomes more intensive. More...

Relapse Records is extremely proud to announce the signing of hardcore aural terrorists UltraMantis Black. The label comments:
"Hailing from parts unknown, UltraMantis Black is the musical manifestation of underground professional wrestling legend UltraMantis Black himself, backed by a cadre of anonymous musicians/warriors who may or may not feature ex- and current members of Pissed Jeans and Pilgrim Fetus. Simply put, UMB is the greatest band you've never heard.
"UltraMantis Black has waged many battles. As a professional wrestler, he has fought a never ending array of opponents worldwide, hell-bent on usurping the Great & Devious insectoid leader of The Order of the Neo Solar Temple. In his quest to decimate the unconscionable and depraved current state of the cultural grappling landscape, he has guided his Spectral Envoy of the Final Judgement through space and time as they deal out justice in the guise of revenge towards those who desire to harm and exploit the vulnerable and voiceless. Now, UltraMantis Black takes his struggle to a new level.
"Set to release their debut EP in early 2014 via Relapse Records, UMB seeks to further spread his gospel through a relentless musical assault of hardcore cacophony. His message is a simple declaration of war. A godless jihad against those who continue to systematically enslave, torture, and murder the Earth and all innocent and sentient life that exists upon it. Clear missives of animal, earth, and human liberation delivered under the secretive cloak of lucha libre to the soundtrack of blasting audio terrorism.
"Stay tuned for details on the EP release and impending global domination as UltraMantis Black take their electrifying live show to an arena near you." More...

Pentagram Chile (not to be confused with the variety of other bands simply called Pentagram) is preparing to release new album, "The Malefice," on November 12th in North America.
In advance of the album being available in stores and online, Decibel Magazine is hosting a stream of a new track, "The Apparition." Give the song a listen below.
Guitarist/vocalists Anton Reisenegger comments on the song: "The Apparition must be one of my favorite tracks on the album because it has this amazing early Slayer vibe. 'Haunting the Chapel' is still my favorite Slayer record ever and was a huge influence on our demos, so this is kind of a tribute. The vocal reverb actually sounds a lot like 'Hell Awaits' as well. The lyrics are about hidden fears and superstitions which often run deep in a family's history. I tried to evoke pictures of an old decaying house as a symbol for those fears."
The album's track listing is:
Finally, the "Slaves to the Grave" release from Rigor Mortis is shaping up for release in early 2014. The band has revealed the tracklisting of the release over on Death Metal Underground. Al Jourgensen will also appear on the final track.

Reunited death metal assassins Skinless are pleased to welcome new guitarist Dave Matthews to their rambunctious ranks. Matthews will join founding guitarist, Noah Carpenter, in full-on axe combat yet to be experienced by mere mortals. Comments Carpenter:
"Yeah, yeah....his name is Dave Matthews, but I assure you he's much more metal than that crappy acoustic guy. It's good to have Dave on board. We've known him from the local Albany metal scene for almost 20 years. Dave and I also play together in the thrash band Armor Column and I thought he'd be an asset to Skinless as well. Dave is an excellent musician.
"We wanted to add guitar solos and more dual guitar attack to the new Skinless material. It also allows us to play the guitar harmonies from the previous albums that we haven't been able to do live. He's been rehearsing with us since we reunited but he wasn't quite ready for the 70-minute set at Delaware Death Fest recently. He'll be joining us on stage at Denver Black Sky in December. We're ready to crush!"
Adds vocalist Sherwood Webber: "Adding Dave is a great introduction to the new chapter of Skinless. Being in the band now feels like a return to the earlier days with everyone having a focus on complete brutality. It's a new era for us, but a return to the original spirit of Skinless. I'm excited to have Dave in the band, his work ethic and talent are beyond question and will help us create the best record in the bands history." More...
