The Swedish death punk 'n' roll rebels in Rawhide are pleased to spew forth "Murder One," their first proper full-length, via PATAC Records. The following press release was issued about the band:
"Spawned over a decade ago by guitarist/vocalist Robert (Bestial Mockery) and bassist Captain Twofinger, Rawhide tips its pints to the teachings of Motörhead, Turbonegro, Gluecifer and GG Allin.
"Following three self-financed demos, 2008's 'Plenty Ain't Enough' compilation, and two 7"s -- 'Built To Blow' and 'Branded For Life,' which Exclaim! fittingly baptized 'a grinding assault of barreling punk rock 'n' roll injected with enough malicious metal to ensure there's even more danger, intensity and cacophony than one would typically expect' -- Rawhide is ready to release the proverbial hounds with the filth-ridden sounds of 'Murder One.'
"Recorded in 2012 at Sunlight Studios together with producer legend Tomas Skogsberg (Hellacopters, Backyard Babies, Entombed etc.), 'Murder One' embraces the band's adulation of classic punk, rock, sleaze and all things deviant with ten tracks of earnest, bar brawling bedlam made of blood, guts, beer and tainted ladies. Murder One will be released via PATAC Records digitally and in wax format in a limited run of 350 (100 red/250 black)."

Every week metal bands from across the globe check in with Metalunderground.com to share their favorite stories from live shows. Today Nige Rockett, guitarist from the legendary U.K. thrash band Onslaught, reminisced about a show in Chile a couple of years ago where the crowd literally ripped the doors down to see the band:
We were down in Chile two years ago and we’ve just come on stage and there was a huge crowd there. All of a sudden, about 150 guys just came piling through this audience….split everybody open and surged to the front and went berserk…massive circle pit going. I was like ‘wow, that’s kinda weird.’ We finished the show and we decided – ‘cause it was so hot…it must have been over 100 degrees in the venue – we decided to go hang at a bar across the road before the next band came on. We went through the doors….which were kind of left on the floor – there was these massive steel doors about ten foot high and about 8 foot - 10 foot wide. There is police outside and all these doors are on the floor and there is blood everywhere. I said ‘what happened here?’ He said, ‘well, when you guys started playin’ – none of these guys had tickets, so they just ripped the doors off and beat their way into the venue. And that was the surge that came in and it was absolutely crazy. These were huge doors and they were just ripped off their hinges. It was absolutely insane. Yeah, there is some crazy guys in Chile!More...

During their set at ProgPower USA XIV on Friday, September 6th, vocalist Matt Barlow and guitarist/vocalist Freddie Vidales of Ashes of Ares made it clear why they were chosen for the festival over a year ago. Between songs, Barlow noted that being selected for the ProgPower lineup at such an early stage was such a reassuring moment to them. In an interview before the show, he had informed me that festival organizer Glenn Harveston tapped them based on only faith and a phone call, relying on his faithful gut instinct that they would deliver, despite the fact that the band had only four songs written at the time.
As confirmed by the crowd a year later, Glenn’s gut proved to be right once again. Another true believer, official Ashes of Ares sponsor and ProgPower devotee Stephanie Rosenblatt described to me the feeling of supporting a band whose album wasn’t even out yet. She noted that “being a sponsor is such an amazing experience,” and one that had paid off with the fiercely lit-up figures of Barlow and Vidales dominating the front of the stage, with the front pit area all to herself as a privilege of the sponsorship.
Prior to the show, the two guys were sitting comfortably in a backstage area with me, trading jokes and telling me about the recording of their debut. Their extremely laid-back demeanor belied years of concert experience and musical skill. Through bouts of hysterical laughter, they dished on topics such as Wacken, surprising themselves, writing and recording their debut, and crowd dynamics. I quickly saw why Glenn wasn’t worried, why sponsors were eager to assist them, and why my internal compass guided me toward the Nuclear Blast booth to pick up their album upon entering the venue that day. After recruiting a new vocalist, Iceland's Beneath has posted the following message online about recording an upcoming album:
"The recording of the new album is progressing nicely, we've done all drums, rhythm guitars, and most of the guitar solos.
"Gísli has started laying down the bass and tomorrow we'll start with the vocals - our first recordings with new vocalist Benedikt.
"The songs are really starting to come together and sound really tight with the production work of the Wieslawski brothers who have worked very hard with us to make this record as good as it can be."
Into Eternity has posted the following message online about canceling upcoming live shows:
"Due to some extremely unfortunate circumstances Into Eternity regretfully has to announce they are pulling out of the Oct. 4th and 5th shows with Untimely Demise.
"These issues just came to light Monday morning and are unavoidable. Into Eternity is not losing any members and the band is going to continue playing shortly but at this moment we need some time to deal with this family situation.
"Our sincerest apologies to Untimely Demise and to our fans for pulling out on such short notice. We promise to make the shows up in the near future. Please support these shows and Untimely Demise. Our Western Canadian tour with them was amazing and they are definitely one of the best bands in Western Canada. Untimely are poised for big things and we wish them nothing but the best.
"Once again, please support these shows. Our sincerest apologies..."

Now Mephistopheles vocalist Matthew "Chalky" Chalk has checked in with Metalunderground.com to explain what went on in the intervening years between the albums and discuss the crazy cover artwork featuring avian-on-fish mayhem. More...
