"We will begin recording our new album next week with Steve Evetts at the helm. This record will be the grittiest, most meaningful piece of work we've ever stood behind. We cannot wait for everyone to hear it.
"Steve Evetts is someone we've worked closely with for a long while, not only on The Black Crown, but also on some instrumental demos just prior to the tragedy last Fall.
"Here we are a year later prepping to record the nastiest, heaviest, most disgusting work we've ever done. Expect the unexpected. This is for Mitch."
Sumerian Records has posted the following message online about dropping Australian outfit Capture the Crown from the label's roster:
"Everyone at Sumerian puts incredible amounts of time, energy and passion in to every band we work with and it's important that as we continue to grow, we have that same fire burning for each artist on the roster.
"We are now ready to let you know that we will be parting ways with Capture The Crown due to musical/creative differences. We wish them the best of luck in their future endeavors."

As Finland's Beastmilk awaits the public disbursement of the "Climax" LP, another brand new single from the record has been leaked via Stereogum. Check out "Fear Your Mind" in the player available below.
"The song 'Fear Your Mind' is about assassination fixation, our mass hybristophilia and the abstraction of the term 'evil,'" states Beastmilk vocalist and primary lyricist Kvohst on the powerful anthem. "The title alludes to something we all need to face, our natural instincts, deepest fears and desires. The whole album is about how we face death and the end. Through murder we know ourselves and we learn to face ourselves. I am making a point about our social inability to accept that part of ourselves that is present in the Manson cult and killers like Pekka-Erik Auvinen."
Kvohst goes on to say, "My mixing of dates and years there is meant to make the point that time is irrelevant; the victims and their families never forget, no matter how hard society tries to abstract the most heinous of crimes. They will always be recent on a personal level. Death is how we relate to history and how we place ourselves into that history. It's how we learn to be human. These murders repeat themselves and will continue to repeat themselves for all time. We cannot escape who we are. We simply have to live with it and learn to live in fear of our own minds." More...

Gearing up for the release of the band's first new material since 2010’s "The Infinite Order," the pioneers of Christian metal in Living Sacrifice are excited to share new track “Screwtape” today. Hear it in the player below, courtesy of Lambgoat.com.
Presumably based on the classic Christian story "The Screwtape Letters," the track features guest vocals from Demon Hunter’s Ryan Clark and is the incendiary opening track on "Ghost Thief," the band’s forthcoming 8th studio album, set to drop November 11th on longtime label Solid State Records.
“‘Screwtape’ is about temptation and the proverbial ‘devil on your shoulder,’” explains vocalist/guitarist Bruce Fitzhugh. “It's about the thought process we go through to justify a thought or action that is not good for the soul. Musically, it seemed like a great way to kick off the record because it's a thrasher and sets a good tone for the record as a whole.” More...

Following a nearly four-year silence since the band's last release, Toxic Assets is just days from releasing the new full-length from Austin sludge purveyors Lions of Tsavo, titled "Traverser." Today another new track from the mammoth album is let out of the cage.
This Autumn, founding Index For Potential Suicide member Christopher Ashley will resurrect "The Newest Youth Rebellion" through a limited deluxe vinyl reissue via his own DIY label, Foreign Sounds.
Boasting new and updated artwork by Ashley, entertaining new liner notes on the band's lineage, a remake of the original poster, and a digital download card, the 2013 version will see release in a strict run of 400 copies on November 11th. The following press release was also issued about the band:
"One of the most chaotic acts to hail from South Carolina, ever, was Charleston-based Index For Potential Suicide. The band was born in the swampass Summer of 1998 and saw its demise only a year-and-a-half later, yet within such a limited existence, undoubtedly left an impressive set of lashes on the underground scene far beyond their own locale.
"Their static-soaked riffage embodying hardcore, powerviolence, screamo and experimental/noise elements all at once could feasibly be compared to Pageninetynine, In/Humanity, Acme, Discordance Axis, The Locust, Man Is The Bastard, Throbbing Gristle and Rorschach, sometimes in the same minute-long track. Amidst incessant regional gigs and several tours, the band quickly amassed an impressive arsenal of recordings in their brief stint as a unit, including one 7" EP, a split 7" with Usurp Synapse, and one brutalizing LP aptly entitled The Newest Youth Rebellion.
