This recording will also feature the band's new drummer, Alex. The band comments:
"Alex is bringing fresh ideas to our music and we can't be any more excited about that. This will probably be the rawest and most spontaneous piece we've ever written. That´s the reason why we don't want to waste a second to record it in order to follow in early seventies band´s footsteps.”
This EP will be the follow-up to Aathma's previous albums ("The Call of Shiva" in 2009 and “Decline… Towers of Silence” in 2011). More...
The new album of the legendary Brazilian metal icons Sepultura, "The Mediator Between Head And Hands Must Be The Heart," is out now.
Together with Metal Hammer UK, the band is now streaming the new album from today on until Friday, November 1st, 2013.
The album was recorded with renowned producer Ross Robinson, who worked with Sepultura on the landmark 1996 release "Roots," and co-produced by Steve Evetts, who previously worked on Sepultura’s "Roorback" (2003), the "Revolusongs" EP (2002), and "Nation" (2001).

Killer Be Killed has aligned with Nuclear Blast Entertainment to release the group’s debut record in 2014. Nuclear Blast comments:
"The mystique-fogged collection is the result of writing sessions, creative and philosophical conversations and an eventual studio lockdown in Los Angeles. All of this has been heretofore hidden from the public, save for interview tidbits that relentlessly drove the heavy music community’s anticipation to a fever pitch.
"Killer Be Killed is comprised of guitarists Max Cavalera and Greg Puciato, bassist Troy Sanders - all of whom share vocal duties - together with drummer David Elitch. The album was produced/mixed by Josh Wilbur."
“It’s a bit of Sabbath-y doom, a bit of thrash, a bit of hardcore and punk,” Puciato explains, searching for the right words to describe something unique.
“This is a very special project. It’s a one of a kind thing, with a lot of potential,” asserts Cavalera. “The album is a mix of heavy, fast and melodic songs.”
Featuring lead vocal contributions and lyrics from Puciato, Cavalera, and Sanders, the aggressive assemblage of songs run the gamut from crowd-inciting brutality and jagged basement show style carnage to melodic, off-kilter hooks. Sanders jokingly described the band as “a perfect blend of a legend, a freak, a beast and a wookie.” More...
Looks like February will be bedazzled by a rather black sun when occult outfit In Solitude will embark on a 19-date European trek supporting Cradle of Filth on the band's co-headlining tour with Behemoth. Support on this tour also comes from Inquisition and Svarttjern.
In Solitude from Uppsala, Sweden is out now with third effort "Sister." Currently In Solitude is touring North America supporting Watain.
Behemoth meanwhile will release new album "The Satanist" in 2014. Frontman Nergal comments: “We are immensely proud to start promotion of 'The Satanist' on the release date of the album in such a noble company. It's been a while since we toured Europe for the last time… The wolf pack grew stronger and hungrier and with new opus and stage production we have so much more to offer. This European crusade will be the catalyst of 2 years long tour so keep your eyes open!”
Vocalist Dani Filth of Cradle of Filth also comments: “We are very much looking forward to touring with Behemoth et al, as I think the combined line-up for these momentous shows is definitely very killer. Prepare for some riotous shows immersed in such esteemed dark company, as Cradle traverses an Old Skool tour programme set against a viscerally visual backdrop of nocturnal metal supremacy. In other words, be there or be squared. Pinhead-style!” More...

Shadow Kingdom Records is proud to unearth some completely obscure and virtually unknown 80's Italian doom metal from Run After To. A split release entitled "Run After To/Gjinn and Djinn," that includes the band's lone 1988 self-titled EP and the 1985 "Gjinn and Djinn" demo, will be introduced to the world on January 7th. The songs have been remastered and the CD package contains some amazing band photos and a complete biography.
With the strange name came some strange songs as well. These old dusty recordings are literally impossible to find except for a low quality upload on YouTube. Fans of old 80's Doom Metal like Paul Chain Violet Theatre, Black Hole, and Death SS will absolutely love this package. Finally, there was some confusion about the history of the song "Occultism," which is a Run After To original. Paul Chain heard the song, loved it, re-recorded it, and made his own version of it.
Stream a couple of selections from the reissued Run After To release below, or head over to Shadow Kingdom's bandcamp page.

New Jersey devils Hammer Fight will release their debut full-length album, "Chug of War," on November 12th via Horror Gore Pain Death Productions. "Chug of War," which follows the band's 2011 untitled EP, was recorded by Bobby Torres at The Machine Shop in Belleville, NJ.
Artwork for the album came from a collaboration between Hammer Fight bassist/vocalist Drew Murphy and Buz Hasson, tattoo artist and co-creator of the comic book The Living Corpse. Guitarist Todd Stern comments on "Chug of War":
"It's something we've all been looking forward to putting out forever. A record that isn't here to compete sonically with the current state of metal affairs. Rather than taking a crack at being the heaviest, the darkest, or the fastest... we aimed for a record that would serve as the catalyst that helps transform your boring day into a good fucking time. Listen loud, rock hard, and have FUN kids. That's what counts most..."
This initial release will be limited to only 500 copies. Pre-orders for the CD and a CD + t-shirt bundle are available from the band's web store. German symphonic metal act Xandria announced the departure of vocalist Manuela Kraller from the band. Kraller took over for departing vocalist Lisa Middlehauve in 2009 and sang on the latest LP "Neverworld's Dream" (see review here). According to the vocalist, her reasons for departure were to follow a different musical path.
The announcement reads: "Hello everyone! Probably to a big surprise for everyone in here, we are announcing Dianne van Giersbergen to be our new lead singer! Dianne, 28 years old and from the Netherlands, might be known to many from her Dutch band Ex Libris.
"At the same time, Dianne's arrival means the departure of Manuela Kraller, who regrettably decided to continue a different musical path. Certainly, that was a big shock to all of us hearing Manu say she wanted to try other things. With major regrets we had to let her go. Not an easy task to deal with, whilst the goal was untouchable: To continue the musical journey we had taken with "Neverworld's End". But: We are very happy to have found THE new voice and face in Xandria who will continue this fantastic ride, our last album "Neverworld's End" had taken us to. And we are yet to sail way, way further with Dianne now!
"Manuela thanks all fans and us in a personal statement: 'After three years with the boys in Xandria, I decided to follow a different path and go my own musical way.' Manuela leaves with regret but also full of gratitude, thanking Xandria and fans for the time together and being grateful for the 'wonderful moments in mutual tours and shows.' She is 'wishing Dianne and band all the very best for the future!.'
"Last weekend's shows in Leipzig, Germany and in Pratteln (Switzerland) at the 'Masters of Symphonic Metal' Festival have been the last concerts for Manu performing together with Xandria. We will certainly miss Manuela! We are also thankful for the magical time we shared and wish her all the best for the future! More...
