After 5 years and some lineup changes, the Chilean metal band Necrosis today comes back with "Reenslaved To The Machine."
The album was recorded at RAF Studios in Santiago, Chile and produced by Necrosis drummer Andy Nacrur.
"Reenslaved To The Machine" is the remake of 2001's "Enslaved To The Machine." All the music was written by Andy Nacrur, Nataniel Infante, and Cesar Añasco, except "Electric Prayer," courtesy of Miguel Lara. The cover artwork was done by Aldo Rojas and designed by Enrique “Kike” Reyes.
While the digital version drops today, the physical CD will be available in November via Digmetalworld Records. Work on a completely new full-length album is also in the works, with further details forthcoming.
The "Reenslaved To The Machine" track listing is as follows: More...

Dark Fortress has a new music video out now for "Chrysaslis," which can be seen below. Frontman and lyricist Morean comments:
"Left for dead after the ritual, the protagonist clings to the thin remaining thread of his waning life - a life he knows is no longer his. Mutation has begun to erode his humanity from the inside, while the world around him decays in the onslaught of poison rain steadily washing away the traces of human civilization."
The video was brought into being by Daniël van Nes, who also created the stunning artwork for new album "Venereal Dawn" (reviewed here).
The band also had this to say about the video: "We are proud to present our newest clip to the song 'Chrysalis' off our new album 'Venereal Dawn,' created by our cover artist Daniël van Nes in collaboration with Sanja Maier-Hasagic, Morean and acclaimed American modern dancer and choreographer Jack Gallagher. Both Daniël and Jack got deeply into the song and its story and managed to hit exactly the right vibe for what we wanted.
"Our music and lyrics are visually very evocative, so we felt the song calls for an approach that almost feels more like a short movie than a regular metal music video. We are very pleased with the final result, and think the images superbly manage to capture the desolation of the protagonist, whose infection by living light (and subsequent initiation of a process that leads to him changing species) becomes apparent in this chapter of our album. Enjoy!" More...

...And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead is set to release new album "IX" in Europe on the 20th October and the U.S. on the 11th of November.
The band had this to say about the track: "A Million Random Digits - the title stolen from a book I found on one of those shelves in a guest house where backpackers are supposed to leave a book when they take one.
"Fortunately I'm not a backpacker so I'm not obligated to leave anything if I take one - which is also how I got a copy of Balthazar Gracian's Art of Worldly Wisdom (in it Gracian recommends allowing yourself one vice, and mine is stealing useful things like books). The lyrics were inspired by the Viking series I'd recently watched on the History Channel - actually I watched a pirated copy (yet another vice) because we don't get the History Channel out here.
"I felt a sense of connection to the idea of the Northmen being away from family while going a-raiding, similar to being away from family while working on a record - you end up killing about the same amount of people as well."

New Jersey-based modern death metal trio Discord just self-released the "Pale Death" EP, which is available now via Bandcamp. You can also hear all the tracks below.
Incorporating violent, snarl-inducing brutality blanketed by melodic passages brimming with despair, Discord formed as a studio project in New Jersey, as an outlet for main songwriter and guitarist PJ Spilletti (ex- Purge the Plague, etc.).
The band's music tells a story of evil and misery in the language of the riff. The record was engineered, mixed, and mastered at Frightbox Recording by Bobby Torres and features art created by Chis Horst.
Vocalist Michael Goncalves muses about Pale Death, "When PJ approached me about recording vocals for Discord I was honored. He allowed Bryan and me to take free rein on our lyrical contributions. The riffs are energetic and metal as fuck but carry an aura of defeatism. We just worked the lyrics off of that vibe -- purely pissed and miserable."

The video was directed by Jaclyn Sheer & Samantha Astolfi. Check it out below, thanks to Stereogum.com. The band comments:
"We recorded and mixed the song on our own with the help of Tim Schmoyer in Boston. We chose this version of the song because it was featured in the soundtrack of Christiane F, a 1981 German film by Ulrich Edel. It's a dark drama about a young girl's descent into drug abuse and prostitution. I've been listening to the soundtrack during the band's many trips to Germany and have always wanted to cover the song." More...

Polish metal outfit Banisher is entering the studio to record a new album. The recording process starts in November at Invent-Sound Studio in Bydgoszcz, Poland.
This will be the band's third full-length album containing seven brand new songs, and it follows the previous "Scarcity" LP released via Unquiet Records last year. Work is expected to be completed in early 2015.
During 2013 – 2014 the band has been touring extensively promoting "Scarcity," touring across Europe and performing alongside metal leviathans such as Hate. The band had this to say:
"The last two years have been a major breakthrough for the band. After recording our second album 'Scarcity' we got on a new level of quality and musicianship. We had several fantastic opportunities to play great gigs, tours and festivals. It’s really hard for a band like us to operate effectively without the support of major labels or expensive promotion/management, but nevertheless many people appreciated our work. Especially after seeing us live. We really put tons of effort in our performances, and it’s definitely worth it.
"These two years gave us huge motivation to work on the new album. Normally, it takes at least 3 years to create new songs. After recording 'Scarcity' I though that it’s going to be extremely hard to create something better. I couldn’t be more wrong. New songs are definitely superior. This time, the whole material was written in less than half a year. I’ve been more creative than ever. Those 7 songs are just relentless. I’m 100% certain about the quality of the new stuff, it gives me shivers whenever I play/listen to those songs.' More...

After posting a tour flyer online containing sexual content (see it below), India's melodic death metal outfit Inner Sanctum was briefly banned from posting on Facebook (a situation we at Metalunderground understand, as any album cover we post that contains nipples or ass cracks gets deleted). Inner Sanctum had this to say:
"Yesterday (10th Oct 2014) Inner Sanctum was banned from Facebook for posting content that was deemed offensive. Someone had flagged our poster because they found the nature of the post to be too graphic.
"There are various ways you could look at this….weigh out the different opinions, figure out what crosses certain lines, artistic liberties, and the relevance of shock value as a marketing gimmick, but none of these address the actual issue at hand…which is…people are in denial when it comes to SEX. SEX SEX SEX, the more you say it the more it offends people.
"Living in India this issue is magnified to a larger degree since most of us are equivalent to Jesus, because we were all born of immaculate conception right…because Indians don’t have sex. I am not a product of my dad’s semen or my mother’s incubating womb, some stork from the sky just dropped me off! It was co incidence and conditioning that made me end up with their features, and biological genes and mannerisms…no sex involved here perverts. More...

The album will be released on November 21st in Germany/Switzerland/Austria, November 24th in UK and rest of Europe and on January 13th 2015 in North America!
