Black Skies To Release New Album

Black Skies will release new full-length album "Circadian Meditations" on November 19th, 2013. Now the band has posted a track from the release online. Check out "Time Lord" in the Bandcamp player below. The following press release was also issued about the album:

"The album expands on the psychedelic leanings of the band's 2011 release On The Wings Of Time. The group returned to Athens, GA in May to again record with Harvey Milk's Kyle Spence. Joining founding Black Skies members Kevin Clark & Michelle Temple for this session was drummer John Crouch (Caltrop, Solar Halos, Horseback).

"Showcasing experimentation, while not abandoning the heavy elements of their sound, Circadian Meditations displays a musical & spiritual evolution for the band. With careful consideration to the sequencing of the songs, as well as the use of ambient sounds, short acoustic instrumental movements, and drones from an Indian shruti box to create transitions, Circadian Meditations is meant to be listened to as a full, flowing cohesive piece rather than a scattered collection of songs." Motorhead Postpones European Shows

Motorhead recently dropped new album "Aftershock" (reviewed here), but European fans are going to have to wait to see the new material presented live.

After canceling festival appearances earlier this year due to health issues with front man Lemmy, now the band has posted the following message online about postponing upcoming European dates:

"I have to sadly let you know that Motörhead has had to postpone the forthcoming European tour until early next year, 2014.

"We have made the decision because I am not quite ready to hit the road yet, and am working my way back to full fitness and rude health. Don't worry - I'm not about to start promoting veganism and alcohol-free beverages, but it is fair to say that I personally have been reconfiguring areas of my life to make sure I can come back fitter and stronger than ever.

"It disappointed me tremendously to have to say I wasn't quite ready to hit the road yet, but not nearly as much as it would've disappointed me to go out, play some average shows and watch my health give way long before the tour was over! When people come to see a Motörhead tour, they expect a Motörhead show, and that is exactly what you will get as soon as I am fit and ready to rumble.

"Your patience and understanding is appreciated...and know that I'm getting stronger and stronger every day, so watch out next spring Europe and we will see you then." More...

Serianna Calling It Quits

Serianna's Chris Ferraro has posted the following message online about the band deciding to call it quits:

"You don't have to understand, all we hope is you can respect it. Serianna has collectively decided to no longer tour, perform, or write music.

"When we started this band seven years ago, we had one goal; To play music we loved, for people we loved. We never set out to change the face of music, or do anything that has not been done. We never had any intentions or goals of being a famous band swimming in a pool full of money. We truly had a love for music that we wanted to share with anyone willing to listen. Being young and invincible, you don't think about the rest of the world. Essentially what you immerse yourself in ends up being your 'world' and the rest just passes you by.

"As most of us are now into our mid 20's we are finding that we value our families, loved ones, relationships, and educations more than traveling and playing shows. Nutting, Little Kris, and I will all be attending school shortly. I start classes in one month and am in an amazing relationship with the most incredible girl I could ever ask for. I honestly could not be more excited to start a new chapter of my life. Rocky has recently started a very good job that doesn't allow him to travel anymore. And Jimmy is busy getting dominated by me in Halo, haha. Really though, Jimmy is an incredible bassist and person, one of the most genuine I have met. I actually don't know his immediate plans, but I'm sure any of us will be willing to talk about any of this stuff if you reached out to us on our personal pages. This 'break up' is not about us accepting failure by any means. It's us saying that we are ready to do other things with our lives and see where they take us.

"HUGE thank you to our manager Nate. We honestly would not have done a single thing if it wasn't for your guidance and support. You're incredible at what you do, and none of your hard work never went unnoticed. Shawn Spann, You were one of my idols growing up. I know we were only able to work together for a month or two but, your guest spot on our CD is one of my favorite moments as an artist. Thank you so much for believing in us. That alone makes my time as a touring musician worth it. More...

Madness Of The Night Streaming New Track

Sweden's Madness of the Night is streaming the new track "Oppression," which appears on the upcoming debut release "The Asgarda." The album is set for release on November 29, 2013 via Massacre Records. "The Asgarda" was mixed and mastered by Andy Horn. Jan Yrlund (Darkgrove Design) is responsible for the cover artwork.

"At first glance Madness of the Night may appear as just another goth rock/metal duo: Guitarist Daniel Dante as the creative head and singer Abir Blackshadow - so far, so normal! But if you take a closer look, you’ll see two culturally different people who nonetheless - or just because of that - complement each other perfectly.

"Daniel from Sweden, deeply rooted in 80’s metal, met Abir from Beirut, Lebanon, through the internet. Their shared love for gothic and dark wave bands - such as Sisters Of Mercy, Dead Can Dance or The Cult - which eventually led to forming Madness of the Night in 2011."

Germ Streaming Full New Album

Today avant-garde black metal band Germ streams the entirety of forthcoming new album, "Grief" (reviewed here), which is set for North American release today through Eisenwald. Hear the entire album in the player below, courtesy of Decibelmagazine.com.

Germ, the solo band of Tim Yatras (Austere, Grey Waters, ex-Nazxul, ex-Woods of Desolation, etc), had always been lurking beneath the shadows of his other bands. That is until 2012, when the project came bursting onto the scene with the debut album "Wish," and follow-up EP "Loss" (reviewed here).

Another huge step forward for Germ, "Grief" also takes a step back towards Tim’s black metal roots by placing more emphasis on guitar this time around. The album also features a stunning guest appearance by Audrey Sylvain (Amesoeurs, Peste Noire), as she lends her amazing voice to two songs.

At 13 tracks and over 69 minutes long, "Grief" is another journey into Tim’s twisted mind, and definitely one not to be missed. More...

MaYaN Unveils Album Art And Track List For New LP

Dutch symphonic extreme metal act - fronted by Epica guitarist/vocalist Mark Jansen - unveiled the album artwork and track listing for the upcoming sophomore LP "Antgonise." The album drops on January 31, 2014 via Nuclear Blast. The artwork was once again created by Stefan Heilemann, who created the cover for the debut "Quarterpast."

The controversy surrounding the cover was explained by Jansen:

“The cover is based on the lyrics for our upcoming album Antagonise. Stefan doesn’t need any directions, he reads the lyrics and comes up with a phenomenal piece of art. That’s why we love working with this guy! When Snowden revealed the information about the mass electronic surveillance data mining program called PRISM, what quite some people already thought became a proven fact.

"We all have been spied on for many years and all our data has been backed up and safely stored. It can be used any time it’s needed. All of this in the name of ‘war against terrorism’, which, in fact, basically is a cover up and a way to bring fear to people in order to get them under control. This trick has already been used many times in the past. History just keeps repeating itself. The media were covering the story, but politicians around the world, and in Europe in particular, didn’t know how to react and remained silent. America is an ally, and not just a little one. Since it became clear that the NSA (and let’s not forget about their British partners in crime of the GCHQ) have also been spying on many world leaders, things have changed. Now it’s finally all over the news!

"Is this the beginning of a turning point in history? Or will we allow a small group of elites to take all our freedom away for their own benefits? The constitution, the basis of our democracy, is not being respected. Don’t get yourself fooled, this is not in our interest. If you want to see the truth, you’ll see the truth. We are what we eat!? A bunch of chickens, imprisoned and fully under control with no freedom whatsoever. This is what we will possibly become. If we let it all just happen… George Orwell, eat your heart out.”

The track list for "Antagonise" is:

1. Bloodline Forfeit
2. Burn Your Witches
3. Redemption ~ The Democracy Illusion
4. Paladins of Deceit: National Security Extremism, Part 1
5. Lone Wolf
6. Devil in Disguise
7. Insano
8. Human Sacrifice
9. Enemies of Freedom
10. Capital Punishment
11. Faceless Spies: National Security Extremism, Part 2
