Vices Streaming Album's Title Track
The title track off Vices' debut LP, "New Breed," is now streaming below courtesy of The A.V. Club.
Due out July 22 on Melotov Records, Vices' "New Breed" was produced by Arthur Rizk (Power Trip). Melotov is distributed exclusively by Deathwish Inc.
The A.V. Club's Jason Heller pegs Vices as "what Fucked Up might sound like if the band had been born and bred in the Deep South instead of chilly Canada... a blinding mix of anthemic punk rage and mosquito-stung, Southern rock swagger." More...
Beaten To Death Working On Third Album
Norwegian grindcore squad Beaten To Death is currently writing material for a third as-yet-untitled studio album, tentatively due for release in late 2014.
The recordings for the follow-up to 2013’s “Dødsfest!” will start next month and it will be entirely recorded and mixed by the band at the Beaten To Death rehearsal room. Here’s what bassist Mika Martinussen had to say about this new album:
"Third time's a charm; Beaten To Death will record the follow-up to Dødsfest! in July, because - let's face it - we're not getting any younger, and ground-breaking records in the grindcore genre don't record and release themselves!
"As usual, the recording will take place over the course of a few days at the bands rehearsal space, and the recording and mixing will - for better or worse (almost certainly worse) - be taken care of by the band itself. Approximately one third of the songs needed to fill an album's worth of their trademark brew of catchy and brutal grind is already written, and it seems the band of brothers still have something to offer to those with an open mind, willing to lend an ear and join in on the fun.
"In the meantime, to endure the wait for new material, please feel free to enjoy this filmed-using-a-mounted-GoPro-excerpt from the bands recent gig with Melt-Banana in Oslo, featuring seven songs from both Xes And Strokes and Dødsfest!" More...

Rabbits Announces New Album Release

Wulfhook Issues Lineup Update
Detroit heavy metal band Wulfhook has checked in with the following update about lineup changes and working on new material:
"It's been entirely to long since we've updated everyone on whats going on with Wulfhook. There's a lot to share so I'm gonna be pretty matter of fact about everything. We are going through a line up change, and currently looking for a new bassist and 2nd guitarist.
"Barry hadn't been satisfied playing bass which is understandable as his passion is guitar and he's a great player, which led to him bowing out respectfully. Duke while a very talented guitarist and performer put us in an uncomfortable position, and left us having to make the hard decision to continue without him. While this news is unfortunate, These guys will always be our brothers in arms and we wish them nothing but the best. For the time being we have friends who are gonna help us out filling in for live shows.
"The original plan was to release a proper full-length in 2013. We had everything in the works from the studio, producer, album art, talked with labels, started working on pre-production demos of newer songs. Things were on the up and up, but for one reason or the other it kept getting pushed back more and more. Something like the old adage 2 steps forward 3 steps back. So 2013 had not turned out to be quite the year we planned for the band to say the least, and 2014 has had an even rockier start. Albeit we had some phenomenal shows, with unbelievable turn outs playing with our brothers in Battlecross and Manic Outburst we still had no forward movement on our full length. With all that being said this past Monday marked 2 years since we released the 'Sacrifice' demo. More...

Gnosis Of The Witch Releasing New MLP
Iron Bonehead Productions has set August 1st as the international release date for Gnosis of the Witch's gatefold 12" MLP "Dauðr Burðr Þrysvar." The label comments:
"Much like its cover art, Dauðr Burðr Þrysvar is a swirling, gnawing torrent of chaos-driven yet mystical black metal, resolutely grim and hideous but nevertheless brimming with a beyond-the-shade splendor not unlike the ancient wave of Scandinavian blackened metal.
"An American duo, Gnosis of the Witch know neither time nor place, their invocations solely driven by the wisdom hidden within the abysmal nothingness of Ginnungagap, each of the four songs contained here a veritable spell of black magick seeking to tear asunder one's earthly bonds and crawl deep within the yawning, abyssic void. Compact and coruscating, Dauðr Burðr Þrysvar hails the dawn of a new majesty."

2. Ormar Eitr

Ex-Seduce The Heaven Vocalist Announces Solo LP
Elina Laivera, ex-vocalist of the Greek act Seduce the Heaven, has announced a new solo album/project with French keyboardist/composer Viv Lalu. The announcement came way via a post on Facebook:
"Dear friends and fans,
After almost a year of musical silence, the time has come for me to share with you all some great news! But first I should take things from the beginning.
"After my departure for personal reasons from Seduce The Heaven in July 2013, I took a much needed break. I took the time to travel a lot, make friends, study and experiment on music, broaden my horizons as a musician and person, finding myself and reinforcing my passion for Music. During these past months, I found tremendous inspiration that made me grab a piece of paper and a pencil, sit down on my piano and write 13 wonderful songs from scratch. The idea for a solo album didn't take long to appear but any plans were too general and unspecific as at the same time I was putting almost all my effort on leaving Athens and Greece and moving out to Germany. This is actually where these lines are now being written.
"Around February 2014, I met French composer and record producer Vivien Lalu in Paris. It was musical love at first sight. Being a huge honor for me, Viv trusted me enough to join forces with me, working on my debut solo album and for the first time plans and deadlines were set and the serious work started with Viv producing my music as well as contributing on arrangements etc. Having worked with enormous names of the scene, Vivien Lalu apart from a beloved friend is also my musical other half in this new journey as we also got to compose material together for the album and he shall also follow me on tour in the near future as keyboardist. Read more about Vivien here.
"So the news go as following; MY DEBUT SOLO ALBUM IS OFFICIALLY on its way with AMAZING GUEST MUSICIANS and a FANTASTIC CONCEPT coming up very soon! Pre-production is already running and this Fall we shall enter the studio to record the album. Mixing and mastering have been scheduled on February 2015 and soon after that you should expect a release date. More...
