Knifeworld Streaming "Destroy The World We Love"
Knifeworld will be releasing second full-length album "The Unravelling" on the 21st of July, 2014 in Europe and July 22nd in the U.S.
The eight-piece band led by Kavus Torabi (Cardiacs, Gong) is extremely excited about the follow-up to 2009's "Buried Alone: Tales of Crushing Defeat" and today reveals a brand new track titled "Destroy The World We Love." Check it out below, thanks to The Quietus.
Kavus had this to say about the song: "Destroy The World We Love is one of those rare songs that seemed to take on a trajectory all of its own and sort of wrote itself. Initially I wanted to do a Glam stomp, something that had a kind of T. Rex and Roxy Music vibe, so we dressed it up in stack-heels and satin, sprinkled glitter all over its beautiful face and hung up a mirror ball, but as we were tying a feather boa around its neck, it started to grow wings, hooves and a tail and bolted off. It was as much all we could do to saddle up and follow in its wake.
"We had no idea where it was going, no one could, nonetheless it charged on through towns painted in strange vibrating colours where no man dare speak their name and where all the birds fly upside down. When it finally got to wherever the hell it ended up we took off our goggles, looked back and realised we'd inadvertently spawned a sort of psychedelic Bohemian Rhapsody. That'll be the single then, we thought."
The full album's track listing is as follows:
1. I Can Teach You How To Lose A Fight
2. The Orphanage
3. Send Him Seaworthy
4. Don't Land On Me
5. The Skulls We Buried Have Regrown Their Eyes
6. Destroy The World We Love
7. This Empty Room Once Was Alive
8. I'm Hiding Behind My Eyes More...

Saturn To Release "Ascending (Live In Space)"
Saturn is due to release "Ascending (Live in Space)" this coming August 5th in North America on Rise Above Records. The label comments:
"Heavy metal isn't rocket science. The genre's fundamental values and sonic staples may have been continually refined and redefined over the last four decades, but its core components remain the same as ever: volume, power, passion and imagination. And that's where Saturn come in. While metal's diversity has never been greater, there will always be something exhilarating about hearing a young band channeling the effervescent spirit of heavy music's founding fathers; adding enough of their own identity to side-step dead-eyed repetition, but always exhibiting a profound love for and understanding of what makes the best music engage, endure and enlighten. Saturn's debut album Ascending encapsulates that idea with exquisitely naturalistic fervor. This is sound of the past, present and future colliding in a shower of riffs, melodies and otherworldly magic.
"Drawn from a steady diet of Sabbath, UFO, Budgie, Deep Purple, Rainbow and, perhaps most importantly, the Judas Priest of Sad Wings Of Destiny and Sin After Sin, the Saturn sound is one that declares a sincere and unapologetic debt to the greats of a bygone era, but this is no lazy exercise in retro posturing. Instead, Ascending conjures its own distinctive world of epic grandeur and gritty oomph via the dexterous weaving of ageless, hallowed ingredients and a jolting injection of contemporary exuberance and verve. Songs like 'Rokktori' and 'Tower Of Terror' exude both a deep affinity with the blues and an intuitive grasp of what occurred when metal's original blueprint mutated into the tougher tirades of NWOBHM." Battlecross Announces New Shows, Working On Album
American thrash act Battlecross has confirmed summer tour dates with Canada's Wacken Battle winners Crimson Shadows and New York's IKILLYA.
Guitarist Hiran Deraniyagala says, "We're excited to announce our first headline run in quite a while. It's short but sweet, and this gives us time to write the new record this summer. We are stoked to have our Canadian brothers, Crimson Shadows joining us. We did a short run with those guys earlier this year and they're a great live band and have an awesome record coming out next fall."
After two busy summers on the 2012 Trespass America tour and the 2013 Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival, the band looks forward to some time off before South American dates with Killswitch Engage. Battlecross will use the time to write the follow up to "War of Will."
Battlecross is currently on tour in Europe with a series of festival appearances including Download Festival and the Graspop Metal Meeting, plus club shows with Huntress and Lacuna Coil. A full list of dates can be found below.
Guitarist Tony Asta says, "The past year has been very inspiring for the band and our attitude towards the writing process this time around is more confident and driven. I expect our next album to kick you in the ass harder than the last. Album #3 will be a serious contender in 2015 and a defining Battlecross record." More...
Entrails Streaming Track From Demo Collection
The Swedish death metal perpetrators in Entrails today unearth the infernal rumblings of "Voices," which can be heard below, courtesy of Decibel Magazine.
The grim "new" ode comes by way of "Resurrected From The Grave - Demo Collection," an eighteen-track monster compilation featuring the band's "Reborn" and "Human Decay" demos.
Comments founding guitarist Jimmy Lundqvist of the track, "'Voices' was made in the mid-'90s for the first time and was one of those songs that underwent a bit of a makeover for the Reborn demo. The result is a fist right to your face!"

Fallujah Releases New Track
Today the atmospheric death metal conjurors in Fallujah uncork "Carved From Stone," the second movement from their forthcoming album "The Flesh Prevails."
Listen to the new track below, courtesy of Lambgoat.com. The previously posted track "Sapphire" can also still be heard right here.
Mixed, mastered, and engineered by sound savior Zack Ohren (Animosity, Suffocation, All Shall Perish) at Sharkbite Studios in Oakland, California, "The Flesh Prevails" boasts guest appearances from guitarist Christian Muenzner (Obscura, Necrophagist) and the chilling voice of Roniit Alkayam.
Comments vocalist Alex Hoffman: "'Carved From Stone' is our most aggressive track; a subtle departure from the ethereal tracks that characterize the rest of the album. The song has a relentless momentum, paired with energetic and suggestive lyrical content; you will surely be hearing this track live this Summer."
"The Flesh Prevails" will be released via Unique Leader Records on July 22nd, 2014 during Fallujah's participation in this year's crushing Summer Slaughter Tour alongside Morbid Angel, Dying Fetus, The Faceless, Goatwhore and more. See complete itinerary below. More...
Watain's Pig Blood Antics Makes It To TMZ
This past Sunday (June 15th), the Swedish black metal tyrants in Watain returned to North America to deliver their infamous stage ceremony of blood, fire, and death.
During this special performance at the Brooklyn Bazaar, the band hurled pig's blood into the crowd, baptizing NY fans in filth as part of a Satanic ritual. The antics made it all the way to the lowest common denominator online tabloid TMZ. If you're willing to sully your Internet history by heading to that unfortunate website, you can see footage from the event over here.
While Watain's Brooklyn concert will be the trio's only U.S. appearance of 2014, the band promises to bring more uncompromising live shows back to the States soon. Fans abroad can catch Watain at various European festivals throughout the summer, where the band will be playing in support of fifth full-length, "The Wild Hunt" (reviewed here).

The Paramedic Posts Single From New Album
The Paramedic today releases a first single off upcoming album "Diary Of My Demons," due out August 12th via Bullet Tooth. Listen to "Proud" below, thanks to Substream Magazine.
Vocalist and lyricist Michael Luciano commented, "This album was not for the faint of heart, and I think these songs are going to show that. 'Diary Of My Demons' is an album full of darkness, anger, sadness, and self-reflection. There were some things that I needed to get off of my chest, demons that I had to let go of. What better way to let them go than by sharing my demons with the world."
"With 'Diary Of My Demons', we wanted to define who we are as a band. We pushed our boundaries musically and lyrically to tap our true potential and I think these songs truly show it,” adds guitarist/songwriter Jake Nolan.
The album's track listing is as follows:
1. Prologue
2. Have A Nice Day
3. Who I've Become
4. Proud
5. Make Me Feel
6. Lying To A Liar

Taatsi Announces "Amidst The Trees" Release
Forever Plagued Records has announced July 25th as the international release date for Taatsi's "Amidst the Trees."
Set to be released on CD format, "Amidst the Trees" marks Taatsi's debut album, not long after the Finns' "Season of Sacrifice" demo was unleashed earlier this year. Forever Plagued Records comments:
"The duo of A. and M. have both been involved within their respected black metal scenes since the mid '90s in one form or another. Taatsi strongly feel that they must convey the old sound despite the many new forms that have imbued the genre today. The lyrics and overall theme of Taatsi deal with the majesty of nature as well as Scandinavian folklore and fairy tales, all with a deeper psychological twist: the relationship of man with the woods.
"The name Taatsi comes from a sacrificial stone located in northern Finland. A very refreshing sound to come from Finland in quite a while, Forever Plagued is proud to add this majestic band to its roster and are sure that many will enjoy their work just as intensely as the label does, where the past is alive! Fans of Strid and 'old' Manes should find Amidst the Trees to be intense and entrancing!"
The album's track listing is as follows:
1. Malign Ghost Of The Woods
2. A Moonlight Journey Through The Midwinter Fores
3. Gateways Of The North
4. Beneath The Hills They Sing
5. Circle Of The Firmament

Blackwitch Pudding Announces New EP
It’s been nearly a year since the wizards of Blackwitch Pudding released their infamous debut LP, "Taste the Pudding," and they have grown restless.
Though one might question why, after 600 years of conjuring evil riffs, casting spells and wreaking supernatural havoc upon this planet that the trio has only created one full-length record, but the truth is, for centuries those pesky mortals have been ripping them off and making the themes more palatable for straight-laced human consumption.
So the robed wizards of doom have resurfaced again with a new EP, "Covered In Pudding Vol. 1," to prove once and for all that they were here first, that their riffs shall ring true, and that rock and roll should be about an average wizard’s favorite things: sex, drugs, witch-babes, and filth.
The EP is out August 12th both digitally and on 200 limited-edition, wizard-conjured cassettes. The track listing is as follows:
1. Night Of The Blackwitch
2. Toke'n Man
3. Gods Of Grungus
4. Bong Hits And Lust More...
Cor Scorpii To Record New Album
After keeping fans waiting for too many years, The Norwegian black/folk metallers in Cor Scorpii have announced they will enter the studio on July 17th. As with previous release “Monument,” the album will be recorded and mixed by Børge Finstad at his Toproom Studio.

The band was formed in 2004 by Windir/Ulcus keyboard player Gaute Refsnes following the death of Windir's Terje “Valfar” Bakken. Cor Scorpii was also covered in our look at underground symphonic black metal bands.
With a lineup that includes Thomas Øvstedal on vocals, Gaute Refsnes on keyboards, Erlend Nybøon lead guitars, Rune Sjøthun on rhythm guitars, Inge Jonny Lomheim on bass and Ole “Vargon” Nordsve on drums, Cor Scorpii’s music blends melody with aggression, and black metal vocals with strong folk metal feel. Etched In Stone Premieres New Track
Central California's Etched In Stone is gearing up to release a brand new full-length album, "The Failure of Modern Man," this coming Tuesday, June 24th.
In anticipation of the forthcoming release, the band has teamed up with us to premiere new song, "Paragraph II," which can be heard below. Etched In Stone vocalist/producer Brian Lewis had the following to say about the lyrical inspiration for the track:
"Paragraph II was one of the first songs written for this record and the majority of the lyrics are adapted from the second paragraph of The United States Declaration of Independence. In a day in age such as our own, where civil liberties are being sacrificed everyday for the sake of 'security,' it just seemed fitting that this song remind the free American people of their right to openly spit in the face of the injustice that is the growing police state. Accountability is obviously scarce at the top, and it should be held there before anywhere else.
"With growing military and prison industrial complexes, it is clear that the motives behind our government are no longer the preservation of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness for it's citizens, but simply profiteering - even at the extreme cost of domestic surveilance and micro-management. George Orwell was simply 30 years early. The over all theme of this album is very political, which is a new direction for us lyrically, but it's important to voice one's opinions about current affairs if one hopes to incite any kind of change - My hope is that this record will inspire people to question everything, to take back their freedom and mostly, turn off their goddamned TV."
Check out the new song below, and be sure to let us know what you think in the comments section! If you can't get enough Etched In Stone, listen to the previously posted track "Only Silent, Still" at this location. More...

The album drops on August 19th in North America via Nightmare Records and August 23rd in Europe via Massacre.
Vocalist Steve Braun commented on the new album: "We are super stoked about how this entire album has come out, from music down to the artwork [shown below]. Once again our good friend Travis Smith has taken our basic artwork concept and made it into a masterpiece. The artwork visually shows the struggles we as a band have faced and how it could have destroyed us, yet at the same time shows how we've emerged from the rubble as a solid unit ready to conquer ANY obstacle in our way. For us we raised the bar with Building the Towers back in 2010, and with the new album Conquer we've surpassed our wildest dreams."
The track list for "Conquer" is:
1. Conquer
2. Web Of Lies
3. Conceived In Torment

7. Hatred Is My Cause
