Nile Guitarist Launches New Band Imperishable
Imperishable is a brand new extreme metal band out of South Carolina. Created by Nile guitarist Brian Kingsland, they are off to a solid start with plans to release the EP "Revelation In Purity"(release date to be determined). Before presenting the final cut, the band is introducing themselves with their debut single, "Exclusion Continuum." The track is dark, aggressive and catches the overall feel of the forthcoming EP, which summons riffs molded around power rather than flash. No overthinking, just pure unadulterated metal.
Joined by Alex Rush (bass) and Tommy Harrison (drums), the trio is determined to deliver ferocious material while retaining memorable hooks. Grinding, yet, groovy this mindset allows the group to focus on what inspires them; head banging compositions.
When asked what fans can expect from them, Kingsland responds:
"If you enjoy lots of technical wanky guitar, overly polished production; you won’t enjoy this record. This album will be more old school and raw. Topics lean heavily on self-confidence and strength in one’s beliefs. We shred, but only when it fits the composition. This band is all about the riffs and songwriting."
The video, which originally premiered on Metal Injection, can be seen below. More...

Californian metalcore veterans Atreyu has announced that they have parted company with singer Alex Varkatzas. A statement from the band reads as follows:
"We have been a band for over 20 years now. Lived our dreams together as friends and as brothers. We traveled the world doing what we love, and have been fortunate enough to play music for such an incredible fan base that provides us with the opportunity to share our greatest moments with them.
"Now a time of change has come for all of us. Alex Varkatzas is sailing off on a ship of his own, and will part ways with Atreyu. He will not disappear, and neither will Atreyu. There’s nothing but love and respect for each other, and we can’t wait to see what he will come up with next. Stay tuned for his upcoming projects and we all wish him success and fulfillment with all his future endeavors.
"Atreyu’s next adventure is among us. We love you, we’ll see you shortly."

"'Consequence' is one of the newer songs that was written for the 'Initiation' album. 'Consequence' is basically about the uprising of the common man against population control perpetrated by the ruling class and the subsequent formation of an underground resistance. The epic nature, aggressiveness, and twists in this song make for a listening experience that we believe will resonate with our audience." More...

The band also hints that new music will be coming in the near future.
Nuclear Blast USA General Manager Gerardo Martinez states:
"Decapitated has been in my life literally since the band started, and soon after the first time they toured the US with their second album - first time seeing them live, I knew that the band had “IT”. Fast forward to the Organic Hallucinosis days and I became very good friends with all of them and I haven’t left them since. We’ve gone through highs and lows, but one thing that makes me feel great is that we are here, in 2020, extending their deal so we can continue to be in the family and release more music together for many years to come!"
Guitarist Waclaw "Vogg" Kieltyka adds:
"We have been working with Nuclear Blast Records for over a decade now and I am more than happy to announce that we have re-signed our contract. The bond which we have between the band and the label is really great, it’s not only a business relationship but also a lot of respect, loyalty, understanding, and support over the years, definitely the core of any relationship. Many things will happen in the upcoming months! I am super excited to continue this journey with such a professional team again! Wait for the new music! It's coming!"

Nachtblut Uploads New Lyric Video
German dark metal pioneers Nachtblut have reached the final countdown, and today, unveil their fourth single "Die Toten Vergessen Nicht" (engl. The Dead Don’t Forget) before their new full-length, "Vanitas," will be released on October 2, 2020 via Napalm Records.
As the closing track and longest song on their sixth full-length album, the German-based unit delivers a haunting ear-catcher and epic climax with "Die Toten Vergessen Nicht". The dark and morbid mood inexorably invades every part of the body while showcasing the band’s essence on point. Nachtblut have never been afraid of coming up with topics that in general may be considered as unpleasant or that others are afraid of - quite the contrary! The new single proves best and is an ode composed for grim reaper himself. The striking growls of vocalist Askeroth are embedded in an instrumental swirl of orchestral melancholy and brutality at the same time, before an atmospheric outro leads the song to its final rest. If only there could be a repeat button for life too...
Nachtblut on the new single:
"In 'Die Toten Vergessen Nicht' we are dealing with the experience of losing a beloved person. Almost everyone knows the tragic of that situation, which makes you aware more than everything else of transience and mortality. This song is breathing the Vanitas theme - a reminder that nothing last forever. It doesn't need many words, the song and the experience speaking for themselves. A worthy last song on an album about the many facets and aspects of life and being." More...

Annisokay Shares New Music Video
German metalcore quartet Annisokay have released a video for their new single 'Bonfire Of The Millennials'. The track is the fourth single from their upcoming fifth album Aurora, due for release on 4th December 2020 via Arising Empire.
"Aurora" sees Annisokay reinventing themselves, welcoming new frontman and heavy vocalist Rudi Schwarzer - a long-time friend of the band - who stepped into the role in late 2019. Once again guitarist/clean vocalist Christoph Wieczorek oversaw production duties on the album, which is full of heavy riffs, driving percussion, melodic, goosebump-inducing cleans and aggressive shouts.
Formed in 2007, Annisokay are at the forefront of German metal with their cutting edge sound, which has earned them huge success at home and has seen them breakthrough internationally. The four-piece have embarked on successful tours throughout Europe, the UK, Japan and the USA, including several headline shows in Belarus, Russia and Ukraine, a US run with I Set My Friends On Fire, two sold-out shows in Russia supporting Parkway Drive, and, more recently, the Xmas Bash Tour with Emil Bulls, which marked Schwarzer's first tour with the band.
Annisokay's first three studio albums were released through Long Branch Records/SPV, all of which charted in the Top 100 Official German Album Charts. In 2018, the band signed to Arising Empire to release their fourth studio album Arms, which reached #26 and marked their highest chart entry to date. More...

Raider Releases New Music Video
Death/thrash outfit Raider, hailing from Waterloo, Canada unleashed their debut album "Guardian of The Fire" this past March. The eight-track LP is a rush of E-standard mayhem, thrash overtones, and blackened vocals. Lyrically, the album’s theme revolves around overcoming lies and hatred that stand between all of us and the truth.
Fans of bands of Sepultura, Annihilator, and Skeletonwitch, Raider is one of the underground death/thrash bands to keep an eye on in 2020 as they continue to raise hell in the moshpit.
Today the band shares their latest music video "No Sign of The Dawn," a groovy thrash attack about the cost of taking our world for granted. It's a reflection on getting human priorities straight.
The band adds:
"Our world stands on the edge of a knife. The virus is but another horseman in the ever-growing mountain of omens. We often get distracted and seem to forget that we are still on our way to one of many total deliverances. We have to unite, think, and speak for ourselves or we will be spoken for. If we do not choose the path that leads us to a better future, we will be forced down a path to ruin, of which there are many, and each of their songs remains the same: For the mortal world there is no sign of the dawn." Protokult Streaming New Album
Protokult have been defining folk/pagan metal since 2009 when they released their debut album “Ancestral Anthems”, since then they have created three additional uncompromising and relentless albums with their fifth "Transcending The Ruins" coming out on October 1, 2020.
Over two years in the making, "Transcending The Ruins" is a rush, meant to be enjoyed either as a whole journey or at any entry point, the band ensures. Approaching this record with a bit more maturity and consistency, the result is heavier, faster, darker.
Inspired and fascinated by various metal genres alongside folk-culture, after a few years of experimenting, Protokult was meant to fuse the two together while paying homage to the past, Bacchanalian festivities, and honouring the underground.
For fans of Arkona, Korpiklaani, and Nightwish, the record pulsates from start to finish yet incorporates the massive dynamics, ambience, and dashes of folk-melodies that the band has become known for.
Before "Transcending The Ruins" officially releases, the band have teamed up Bravewords for the album's exclusive full stream here.
The band comments on the full length's release:
"'Transcending The Ruins' is an album about growing up and tipping our hats to the great metal influences of the generations. Some can say the industry has been shaken hard and is in a state of flux so as artists we try to outdo ourselves on every performance and transcend what the popular or common standards may be. Everyone is playing on the edge of their ability and no matter whether you listen from start to finish or dive in randomly, that energy and sincerity are everywhere. This is Protokult on speed all the while putting on a professional face, which makes it the most consistent and rewarding album to date."
Iron Mask To Release New Album In December
Iron Mask's new video & single "Tree Of The World" is out now, the first track taken from their seventh album "Master Of Masters," out 4th December on AFM Records.
The first taste from the new Iron Mask album sees the band return with a real crowd-pleaser. "Tree Of The World" has slight celtic influences, galloping drums and a jaw-dropping solo courtesey of the guitar wizard and main man Dushan Petrossi. A true Metal Anthem!
There’s not only Odin when it comes to mythology and pagans gods, there's also Svarog, God of gods and all slavic people. The world tree carries the earth, hell and heaven and is their old symbol.
Iron Mask, the power metal masters from Belgium are back after a 4 year break with a neo-classical power metal and most original new album "Master of Masters." Dushan managed to write his best material ever and all 12 songs have that perfect combination of pure metal, easy-listening feel with progressive touches, beautiful orchestrations with virtuos playing and catchy melodies. The band succeeded again – even during these strange times – to record with full-on passion, energy and fire.
It has been a long search, but with Mike joining the band as lead vocalist, it’s a perfect fit.
Iron Mask finally found the singing gem and truly committed band member, they’ve been searching for so long. Oliver Hartmann (Avantasia, Hartmann) joined in again for this masterpiece and took up one song as guest vocalist and all the album choirs. More...

AC/DC Teasing New Album?
Australian hard rock/heavy metal icons AC/DC look as though they could finally be releasing a new album, likely named "Power Up." An e-mail was sent out, showing a photo of the current lineup of the band (see below,) under the subject, "Are You Ready?" The picture also features the phrase, "PWR/UP" in the band's lightning bolt logo and features the hashtag #PWRUP, and a link to the website https://pwrup.acdc.com/
In the past two years, members of the band had been spotted at the Warehouse Studios in Vancouver, Canada and ever since, fans and press have been speculating that a new album was in the works. If this turns out to be the case, it will mark the first release since 2014's, "Rock Or Bust" and the second to feature Stevie Young, the nephew of founding guitarists Malcolm and Angus Young, who had also toured with the band during promotion for the "Blow Up Your Video" album. Jairo Guedz: From Sepultura To Troops Of Doom
Sepultura is a name which needs no introduction. The Belo Horizonte band were the first metal band from Brazil to gain international acclaim and opened the door for other bands from their home country to receive attention from the rest of the world. Not only this, but the quality of musicians were so high that the former members have earned success outside of the band, whether that be in Soulfly, Sarcófago, Cavalera Conspiracy or Mixhell.
Now in the year 2020, another of Sepultura's talented alumni is getting his name out into the world once more, as original guitarist Jairo Guedz, AKA "Tormentor," prepares to unleash "The Rise Of Heresy," the debut EP from his new band, The Troops Of Doom. Named after one of Sepultura's earliest fan favourite songs, the band captures the spirit and sound of the "Bestial Devastation" and "Morbid Visions" releases perfectly, whilst still sounding modern and in step with the current metal world. To find out all about the release, I spoke with Guedz to discover what fans can expect from the band, its goals, why he left Sepultura, the surprising link to Dimmu Borgir and much more.
Diamond Oz: Congratulations on the new EP, "The Rise Of Heresy." It's very exciting to hear new material from you! Why do you feel that now is the right time for Troops Of Doom?
Jairo Guedz: Yes I am (we are) very excited and proud. The goal is to do songs in the same vibe I used to do with Sepultura back in the old times.
Oz: How important was it to include the Sepultura songs on the EP as well as original material?
Jairo: Well... every member and also ex-member from Sepultura has the right to play their own songs. Max and Iggor are doing it with the Cavalera Conspiracy since the begining...Sepultura also can play their songs from every album and I also have the rights from the first two albums. So, when I decided to join the band together I told the guys from Sepultura that I would like to do it - re-record my own songs form Bestial Devastation and Morbid Visions - and they (Max, Iggor & Paulo) told me to do it. They are more into Arise, Beneath The Remains, Roots era... And I woud like to play my stuff with them. More old school death metal.More...
