Insidious Disease Releases New Album Trailer

Norwegian death metal beasts Insidious Disease, featuring current/former members from Dimmu Borgir, Morgoth, Nile, Susperia and Napalm Death, will release their first album in a decade, "After Death," on October 30 via Nuclear Blast.

Today, the band has revealed a new trailer in which they discuss the album's artwork, created by Dan Seagrave (Entombed, Gorguts). Watch below:

Sonically inducing a depraved and morbid condition of the mind, Insidious Disease returns this fall to present their second full length album. Freshly signed to Nuclear Blast Records, the band convenes to create a modern venture into classic death metal. Still in the early stages of existence with only their debut album "Shadowcast" (2010) preceding, Insidious Disease are ripe with a hellish energy that seeks to sear its way across the universe of heavy metal.

"It’s not supposed to be re-inventing the wheel or anything, it’s just about finding a good groove that we feel comfortable with," explains guitarist Silenoz. More...

Damnation Festival 2020 Officially Cancelled

The organisers of Britain's Damnation Festival has made the unfortunate announcement the 2020 edition of the event has had to be cancelled. A statement issued by the festival page reads as followss:

"We gave it every chance we could but in the end, there was no hope we could host even a scaled-down event in eight weeks' time.

"It's a sore one, but with the likes Pig Destroyer, Onslaught and Pallbearer all but tied up for next year, and an incredible package of black, death and doom being confirmed as we speak, 2021 is going to be a line-up worth the two-year wait. We guarantee it.
Tickets can be refunded or rolled over and we're going to organise some merch to mark this giant hole in our calendar.

"Last night Paul and I recorded a podcast to get properly into the cancellation; what it means for us, what it means for you, the future of the event, bands we want to (will!) see booked etc.
We also took the opportunity to look back over the years, regrets and highlights, including missing out on Ghost, Gojira and Bring Me The Horizon, Turisas' tour manager being less than complimentary about our fine festival and that bloody fire alarm!

"Thanks for the incredible support down the years, with your backing we'll be back punching well above our weight in 2021."

Sadistic Embodiment Shares New Lyric Video

Canada’s Sadistic Embodiment will be unleashing their new album "Blood Spell" on September 18th via CDN Records. Prior to its official release, the band is sharing with fans their next aural assault with their third single "Phantom Tormentor". The track itself is all about nightmares, post-traumatic stress, and hallucinations. The driving extreme rhythm mixes with tortured vocals along with plenty of subliminal content throughout with lyrics sourced from dark personal experiences of guitarist Wally Fischer.

Fischer explains further:

"Originally written very shortly after our 2019 EP 'Beloved Imprisonment', this song in its early form was part of our set list throughout 2019, but parting ways with our vocalist meant this song needed new lyrics. 2019 and 2020 was a brutal time in my personal life. Waking up in cold sweats, tormenting nightmares, and conscious anguish was a constant. One such night, I woke up and felt darkly inspired. While watching streams of abstract horror games on YouTube in the background, I wrote the lyrics chronicling my emotions. The recording transcended this song from its original form, and I think many will find it speaks to their own demons, both internal and external."

Today, the band has teamed up with Decibel Magazine for the premiere of "Phantom Tormentor" and its lyric video, which can be below. More...

Misery Index Signs With Century Media

Century Media Records are proud to welcome US death metal/grindcore veterans, Misery Index, to its worldwide family. Active since the early 2000s, Misery Index have established themselves as a stronghold for outspoken, politically charged lyrics and savage yet surgically precise metal, releasing six studio albums, several EPs and performing well over 1,000 concerts in 44 countries to date. Now, the band has teamed up with a reliable new partner for the years to come.

“We are very excited to spew forth our next batch of vitriol with our good friends at Century Media. It is a massive pairing for a new chapter! Respect!” - Misery Index

“When I started working at Century Media, Misery Index was the first band I suggested to sign right after the release of the “Overthrow” MCD on the band’s own Anarchos Records. Now, many years later the plan finally worked out. We are excited and very happy to welcome them to Century Media Records!” - Philipp Schulte, Director Century Media

Misery Index are currently working hard on their seventh studio album, expected to be released in 2021 right on time with the group's 20th anniversary.

As a special treat for all their fans who currently miss seeing Misery Index live, the band teamed up with Revolver to present a brutal live set captured on March 6, 2020 in Munich during "The Campaign For Musical Destruction" with Napalm Death, Eyehategod, Rotten Sound, and BAT. Visit Revolver on September 4 at 9 AM, EST / 15:00 CET / 6 AM, PST. More...
