Kittie Returns To Tour Europe After 6 Years

Canadian all-female metal band Kittie will return to Europe this fall for its first tour in six years.

“I am really anxious to get back so we can meet all the people who have stayed true to us, re-introduce the band, and show everyone what we have been up to these past years,” said frontwoman Morgan Lander. “The European audiences are always so enthusiastic and dedicated to the bands they love. Many people have been waiting for what seems like a lifetime for us to return, and I know they will be great audiences and we will not disappoint!”

Kittie was part of the one and only European Ozzfest tour in Europe in 2002 and played the major metal festivals, but the band’s return will be the group’s first headlining excursion in Europe. Magnacult will provide direct support in Europe (excluding Paris), and Losing Sun and Symphony Cult will support the band in the UK.

“We are all ridiculously excited to be returning to Europe,” Lander said. “The fans have waited long enough. This is just the beginning!”

Kittie’s latest album, “Funeral for Yesterday,” is available on import in Europe.

Six Feet Under Finishes Recording New Album

Tampa, FL’s Six Feet Under have finished the recordings for their 8th full-length studio album titled "Death Rituals." "Death Rituals" features 12 tracks of pure American Death Metal delivering a bludgeoning slab of metal.

Death Metal vocalist Chris Barnes, along with guitarist Steve Swanson, bass legend Terry Butler, and drummer Greg Gall, continue to follow the dark and demented path that merges what Outburn Magazine calls “tried and true death groove” with stomach-turning lyrics and themes.

"Death Rituals" saw the band returning to Morrisound studios in Tampa, FL with Chris Carroll at the helm with mixing duties being handled by Toby Wright (Slayer, Korn, In Flames, Fear Factory, etc…) and the return of Six Feet Under’s old friend Bill Metoyer, who recorded the band's CD "Warpath", helping out with recording of the drums.

Suffocation Officially Signs To Nuclear Blast

Nuclear Blast Records has posted the following message online:

“It is an honor to announce that Nuclear Blast and SUFFOCATION are finally joining forces! Nuclear Blast is proud to welcome one of the most popular and important bands in death metal history, and without a doubt the heaviest fuck ing metal band ever come out of New York! This is a dream come true for the staff as well, as we are all huge longtime SUFFOCATION fans. There’s no doubt that the band is one of the most influential bands ever, as we hear their sound even in most of today’s ’scene’ bands! We cannot express how happy we are as we’ve known the guys for some time now. We would like to thank them and their management for helping making this happen. The future looks bright! Stay tuned because 2009 will bring you ‘Blood Oath.’ You’ve been warned!”

Suffocation themselves has posted the following statement aswell:

“After 20 years of discovering the right and wrong relationships in our career, we are proud to announce that Nuclear Blast will be our new record label for 2009 and home to SUFFOCATION. Joining the Nuclear Blast family is an honor and it’s wonderful having so many great label mates. After all these years of playing in the death metal world, Nuclear Blast has remained at the top of the metal food chain bringing great and powerful bands to all who love the hard and heavy. We’ve had great success with the relationships acquired since our return and we feel Nuclear Blast will only add to that success. We, as a band, are looking forward to being offered bigger and better opportunities, while helping the extreme metal scene grow and gain the recognition it deserves. Look for our Nuclear Blast debut, ‘Blood Oath,’ in early 2009!”

British metallers Blitzkrieg has posted the following message online:

"The band would like to thank the promoters of both recent Greek shows, also the venue staff of both dates and last but not least everyone that showed up on Friday at The Necropolis in Athens and Saturday at Harleys in Thessaloniki.

"As those of you who attended the Saturday show will know of Brian (Ross, vocalist)'s injury enroute from Athens to Thessaloniki, at that time no one knew of the prognosis of his injury. Brian battled on in pain and completed the whole show to the best of his abilities (a true pro!), on arriving home on Sunday, Brian checked in to the hospital to find out that he had punctured a lung and fractured ribs from his injury, as of tonight (Tuesday) he still remains in hospital.

"I hope I speak for us all... bandmates, fans and friends, that Brian has a safe and speedy recovery!

Cerebral Fix's "Tower of Spite" To Be Reissued

Cerebral Fix, the English thrash/death metal band formed in Birmingham in 1986. They became members of the UK thrash metal and death metal scenes through four albums, three of which were on major labels before finally disbanding in 1993. In 2006, the band announced its reformation. They have an album's worth of new material, but for now they are waiting for the reception of the new songs. Cerebral Fix are enjoying it, so join the rollercoaster for a bit!"

Metal Mind Productions has announced the re-release of the band's second studio album from 1990, entitled "Tower Of Spite." The new digipak edition of the album includes 11 bonus tracks taken from the "Live at the Barrel Organ 20th March 1990 bootleg," while the disc is digitally remastered using 24-Bit process on golden disc and limited to 2000 copies.

Re-release of "Tower Of Spite" is scheduled for release on October 13, 2008 in Europe and November 25, 2008 in the USA (via MVD).
