“Ob(Servant)” will be out on September 26th in Europe and October 14th in North America on Nuclear Blast Records.
PSYCROPTIC's third full-length album, "Symbols of Failure," was released in February 2006 via Neurotic Records. The follow-up of 2003's "The Scepter of the Ancients" marks the recording debut of the band's new vocalist Jason Peppiatt.
Book Of Black Earth Posts New Song Online
Seattle’s BOOK OF BLACK EARTH has posted a new song, "Funeral of Peace," from the band’s forthcoming album on the band's MySpace page. Due out Oct. 14 through Prosthetic Records, "Horoskopus" is BOOK OF BLACK EARTH’s second full-length, and debut for new home Prosthetic Records. Pre-orders have also begun for the album on both vinyl and CD editions here.
"'Horoskopus' is a concept album about the hidden astrological elements of the Christian church," vocalist / guitarist T.J. Cowgill adds. "From its origins as a state sponsored religion in the fourth century to the present day, it has been guided by astrological concepts conceived centuries before Jesus Christ was mythologized as the 'Sun' of God."
BOOK OF BLACK EARTH consists of members of venerable metal underground band Teen Cthulhu, as well as drummer Joe Axler of Skarp, Splatterhouse, and Iamthethorn, among others. Having already released a self-financed demo in 2004 and a split release with underground legends Fall Of The Bastards in 2005, 2006’s "The Feast," received praise from Decibel magazine, Terrorizer magazine, and the band’s hometown newspaper, the Seattle Post-Intelligencer. Meanwhile the band is gearing up for the Black Metal Magic tour, featuring Swedish black metal legends Watain and new labelmates Withered, including a string of headlining dates on the way out to the first date, Oct. 3 in Toronto.
BOOK OF BLACK EARTH will also be in-studio co-hosting with the KISW Metal Shop hosts, Steve Rock and Kevin, in Seattle this Saturday, Sept. 20 from 11pm – 2am. Fans can find more information on KISW.com, including the chance to stream the broadcast live over the internet, or locally tune their dials to 99.9 FM.

The Boy Will Drown Scheduled To Enter Studio
British technical metallers The Boy Will Drown are preparing to enter the studio to begin recording of their debut album.
The Boy Will Drown, who recently signed a multi-album, worldwide recording deal with Earache Records, are set to follow in the footsteps of their idols Decapitated and enter Hertz Studios in Bialystok, Poland to record their as-yet untitled debut album. The band are set to enter the studio on October 27th and will be holed up until November 13th.
Guitarist Liam Keel comments: "We really wanted to use Hertz because of their understanding of extreme music, which they have proven with bands like Decapitated, Hate and Behemoth. We want to achieve an extreme sound so the production will match the tunes."
Having only formed in 2006, The Boy Will Drown are currently regarded as one of the most flamboyant and intense bands in the UK. Playing a vicious blend of technical and experimental music based around grindcore and death metal, the band do everything in their power to mesmerize and pulverize the listener whilst simultaneously injecting an element of humor, fun and youth into their music.

Metallica To Tour With Scorpions?
Legendary photographer Ross Halfin has posted the following message at his website:
"It's been a Metallica weekend - kind of. Shot Metallica rehearsing new songs on the 02 stage for an hour. Then did a studio set up and got all the band to do photos. Of course Lars says while standing posing 'This isn't on the schedule.' Me: 'So?' He does what he's told. I got a lot done - I know I say this but I did, particularly of James. I gave him the new cover of Burrn! which I like (shot in LA) and Kirk was over the moon with Classic Rock's photos of him and THE SCORPIONS. He's talking to the band about doing a co-headline tour. Did some more of them warming up then shot the show. Hated the set list, found it boring - no 'Four Horsemen', 'Creeping Death', 'Damage Inc.' You get the new songs (fair enough with a new CD) but the rest of it I found a yawnfest - 'Wolf To Man', 'One' (never liked the song), 'Frantic', plus playing in the round there were so many monitors and veri-lights along the front of the stage you were looking up their noses. Walked onstage at the end and got them kicking huge black Metallica balls. I didn't get into it as I hadn't seen the show with new lights etc."
Metallica's "Death Magnetic" A Lock To Top Charts
Billboard.com reports: A title missing from last week's Nielsen SoundScan Building charts is destined to be the next No. 1 on The Billboard 200, as Metallica's new "Death Magnetic" has a shot at a half-million copy opener.
The band's first album through Warner Bros. was absent from SoundScan's interim charts because of its off-cycle Friday street date of September 12, which was chosen in order to accommodate a global release date. SoundScan's Friday Building chart reflects sales from nine leading accounts through close of business on Thursday.
Informed sources estimate "Death Magnetic" will start in the neighborhood of 450,000-500,000 copies, with one unpredictable variable being a ticket/album bundle offered by Ticketmaster. The album was also packaged with "Guitar Hero" at Best Buy, sold through "Guitar Hero" platforms Xbox and Playstation and packaged with a Metallica-branded set of headphones by Skull Candy.

Born From Pain Realeses New Album Details
Dutch hardcore band Born From Pain has revealed the front art of their upcoming new album "Survival."
Singer Rob Franssen commented about the musical content of "Survival": "We are very happy the way the album turned out. We have invested a lot of time and energy in it and we are very pleased with the result. We feel we have integrated the new vocal sound into our music pretty well and concentrated especially on developing our sound further without losing our usual musical trademarks like heaviness, aggression and groove. We feel this is our best work easily up until now."
Rob also discusses the lyrical themes of "Survival": "We've taken a step further what our critical view on the ruling power structures is concerned, and thus the state of the World of today. We feel it is important to have a voice in times like these where the people are constantly lied to by ruling powers, robbed of self-worth, pushed in the dirt and cheated out of their last lifesavings under the veil of lies. We feel it is important to look further than the 8 o' clock news, mainstream radio or the online news agencies. We are trying to be critical and create awareness that there is more than meets the eye and people should get informed and look beyond to what they tell us is obvious. We are actively pushing for a critical agenda here and are not accepting our current situation. It is time to have a voice before it's too late. Look for truth!"
Here is the "Survival" track listing:
1. Sound Of Survival State Of Mind
2. Sons Of A Dying World
3. The Wolves Are Loose
4. Never Die
5. Final Collapse
6. Endgame
7. Zeitgeist
8. The Hydra
9. Zero Hour
10. Under False Flag
"Survival" will be released the 31st of October in D/A/CH/I and the 3rd of November in the rest of Europe.
