Metallica Giving New Album Away With Tickets
According to The Pulse Of Radio, METALLICA is offering a Death Magnetic Experience pre-sale ticket package between now and September 13th, the official general on-sale date for tickets to the band's upcoming North American tour. Members of the group's fan club have already had first crack at tickets, and now American Express cardholders will get their shot on Monday and Tuesday (September 8th and September 9th), followed by a general public pre-sale on Wednesday (September 10th). The package includes purchase of up to four tickets with better seating, a free download of the show you attend at LiveMetallica.com, and delivery "right to your door" of the band's new CD, Death Magnetic. The pre-sale ends at midnight on September 12th.
The band states: "For each ticket you buy, you get a copy of the album. If you purchase four tickets, you get four copies of the CD. Don't need four copies? Give one to your friends, your mom, or a random dude on the street... just spread the new album to as many ears as possible."
Black Sabbath Bassist Slams Sarah Palin
The latest addition to the list of legendary rockers enraged with Republican politicians is none other than Geezer Butler, the legendary bassist of Black Sabbath/Heaven And Hell. In a recent tour update he says:
"Hello readers,
"Thank you all who came to see the Metal Masters tour. It was a pleasure touring with such great bands and friends - Judas Priest, Motorhead, and Testament, and their respective crews. It was great meeting everyone who came to the meet and greets after the shows.
"Now back to reality. As you may know from my web-site and lyrics, I am pro all life, not just unborn fetuses. I don't understand people who say they are pro-life, but then support unnecessary wars and the disgusting slaughter of animals for sport. I respect people's freedom of religion, but i absolutely abhor hypocrites. Which brings me to this horrific video of cowardly bastards in airplanes, shooting wolves for so called "sport", and the hypocritical politician [she's supposed to be pro-life, remember], who allows this cowardly act to take place in her state. I know lots of people who hunt, and I enjoy shooting at my local gun range, but I don't know, nor would i want to know, anyone who gets pleasure from this disgraceful behaviour. God/Nature has created a beautiful earth, and populated it with beautiful creatures, and i believe that all life is miraculous. Why do politicians [royals included] enjoy killing so much, and treating those miracles with such contempt?
"Love and peace,
Geezer."

Alice In Chains To Enter The Studio In October
The following update has been posted online by Alice In Chains associate, "The Baldy":

"Well, Sean injured his beard in an unfortunate slip-n-slide accident back in June and needed six weeks of bedrest after a team of surgeons reluctantly removed it.
"Mike held vigil at his bedside, and Jerry & William used the time to go off to summer camp, where they learned to carve driftwood and make macaroni art. More...
Warbringer To Enter The Studio In Winter
Californian thrashers Warbringer has posted the following update:
"So we're back in North America touring the US and Canada with FINNTROLL. It was quite a rush as we flew directly in from Amsterdam (as Holland was our last European show with SWORN ENEMY/ALL SHALL PERISH) into Philadelphia and had to get our butts down to Jaxx in Springfield the next day to start this tour. It was a bit chaotic but we want to thank everyone who responded to our post for a ride.
"This tour has been great! It feels good to be back home and playing in front of metal audiences and sharing a bus with the 'Trolls has been awesome. It's been some time since we played the US, as we pretty much spent all summer in Europe, and it's nice to feel the energy of the audience every night. Merch sales have been good too - thanks! Montreal metal band Plasmarifle has amicably parted ways with drummer Sean Connors. Vocalist Maynard Moore had this to say:
"We are sad to announce that Sean Connors will no longer be drumming for The Plasmarifle. He is leaving the band for personal reasons. We are very sad to see him leave, he is a great friend and drummer and will remain so. We wish him the very best of luck with all of his future projects. The hole that Sean leaves is sizable, and will be filled by Alexandre Dupras. We look forward to a long and fruitful relationship with Alex in the many adventures we will experience as a band."
Gama Bomb Declares War On "Inferior Metal"
Irish thrashers Gama Bomb has come up with a unique idea for their upcoming "Thrashing Like A Maniac" tour with Bonded By Blood and Sworn Amongst.
Singer Philly Byrne explains: "The right to listen to neck-snapping turbo-charged metal is under threat. Gloomy, posey, idiotic metal stands between us and true enjoyment of thrash. We're all guilty of having bought some rubbish, not-quite-up-to-the-mark "metal" records at some point in our lives, but it’s time to root out those embarrassing t-shirts and albums and posters – because GAMA BOMB are offering YOU a chance to wipe the slate clean."
Starting at their first show on September 12th in Germany and running through each and every stop of the 10,000-mile, eleven-country tour, GAMA BOMB invite and encourage you to bring along the worst of your music collection – the embarrassing, the awkward and the downright rubbish CDs, records and merchandise hidden amongst your better purchases – and to collect them together so both you and GAMA BOMB can do what should have been done long ago – ritually shred, stamp and smash the living hell out of them!
