The Italian thrash band Sothis has announced their split with the front-man Franco Topitti.
"After 10 years of concerts, records and incredible satisfaction, the band feel the obligation to guarantee, without to interfere, the suffered choice to leave due to characterial differences," states the band. "We infinitely thank Frank for all the sweat, the blood and the tears that gave us, memories that we will never forget!"
Sothis is now officially seeking a replacement vocalist. Geographic location is less important than attitude. Interested parties should contact the band at info@sothis.it or myspace.com/sothis1.

Nachtmystium Drops Off Opeth Tour
Nachtmystium has cancelled the remainder of their tour dates with Opeth and High On Fire. Here's a statement from the band:
"Due to some issues beyond our control, we've been forced to pull off of the Opeth/High On Fire tour. We're aggressively working to try to get things together for the 2nd leg of our fall tour starting in Los Angeles on October 8th with Wolves in the Throne Room.
"We apologize to anyone who was hoping to see us on the Opeth leg of the tour. Thanks to all of those who came out in support at the shows that we did manage to play, it was great seeing you maniacs out!"
Living Sacrifice Posts New Song Online
Living Sacrifice has posted another new song, entitled "The Battle," online on their MySpace page. "The Battle" is the second song from the "Death Machine" digital only release. In addition to streaming on MySpace with the previously released new song, "Death Machine," the songs are also available on Itunes.
As previously reported, these songs will not be included on the band's upcoming full length release, which is slated for 2009. The band does, however, plan to release these songs on 7 inch vinyl in addition to the digital release.
Hex Records not releasing Soul Control 7"
Hex Records has officially acknowledged that they will not be releasing a 7" from Soul Control, as had been previously announced. Here's a statement from Hex:
"When those dudes initially approached me about doing a 7" I was totally down for it. They wanted to do one song and that was the only thing that threw me off. I said I'd do it if they recorded at least two songs. They said they would figure it out and get back to me. I just don't feel right selling people a one-song 7".
"Well, somewhere there was a miscommunication because next thing I know I was listed as one of the labels releasing one of these 7"s. So I immediately hit them up again and let them know that I was only interested if it was more than one song. Well, that didn't fit with their plan of doing 4 one-song records, so we called it off.
"There's no hard feelings, and I still think that band totally rules. And the new songs they recorded are dope. AND, there's the chance of doing something more formal down the line in the future (so keep an ear to the ground)."
