Evile To Tour With 3 Inches Of Blood In Canada

UK thrashers, Evile will embark on their first ever trip to the western hemisphere as they tour Canada this October with 3 Inches Of Blood.

This tour is a big moment in the history of Evile as it marks the first time the band will play shows in the great white north and the first time the band has ever toured outside of their half of the world. Evile is extremely excited to see all of their crazy Canadian fans for the first time and is just as excited to play with longtime favorites of theirs, 3 Inches Of Blood.

Evile guitarist, Ol Drake gave a few words on how he and his band first discovered the music of tourmates-to-be 3 Inches Of Blood: "I remember hearing 3 Inches Of Blood when we started Evile back in 03/04 (in the rehearsal room whilst writing) and was surprised to hear someone doing that style of metal at that time. It was a relief to
hear, even though I was heavily into just death and thrash metal only then."

"I can't wait to drown in 3 Inches Of Blood!" says Drake, who jests "...Too cheesy? Fuck you!"

Total Fucking Destruction Posts New Song Online

Brutal Truth drummer Richard Hoak unveils "Non-Existence Of The Self," a new track by Total Fucking Destruction, the "grindcore performance-art project" he has been recording for almost a decade. "Non-Existence Of The Self" appears on Total Fucking Destruction's third full-length album, "Peace, Love, And Total Fucking Destruction," out Oct 28 in North America on Enucleation Records.

Hoak describes the mission of TFD: "Total Fucking Destruction is a celebration of the slow-motion apocalypse already in progress. Our songs are true stories of life in the global techno/military/entertainment complex and represent the future/present of human civilization... Time is running out, the future is now and we are participating in the end of history. It's just awesome."

Centered around Hoak's social criticisms and his jazz-inspired drumming, "Peace, Love, And Total Fucking Destruction" pushes grindcore into uncharted, open-minded realms. Musical influences include the raw power of old Napalm Death, the progressive approach of old Minutemen, and the glory of classic rock radio. More...

Remastered Albums From Dragon To Be Released

Metal Mind Productions presents remastered editions of two albums by the Polish death metal band – Dragon. "Horde Of Gog" from 1988 and "Sacrifice" from 1991 will be available again in a new digipak edition, digitally remastered using 24-bit process, each limited to numerated 2000 copies.

"Horde Of Gog" - the debut full-length album was originally released in 1988. Instead of a "romantic" intro, typical for all metal albums at that time, the album started off with a hurricane of Bomba's drums, out of which the raging tempo of "Kaplani Zdrady" emerged. This was followed by a true thrash metal frenzy, interrupted only by a subtle guitar miniature called "Cervezza", which featured a brilliant guitar solo by Pajak. New edition of the album includes 9 bonus tracks taken from the Polish language version of the LP.

"Sacrifice" was Dragon's fourth full-length album released in 1991. The band's music underwent some minor changes: "We tried to concentrate the material around some clearly displayed motives. The tracks are not open (as they were on "Fallen Angel" and "Scream of Death") but rather condensed, which made them more communicative. We didn't want to create music for an elite group of fans" - said Jarek Gronowski when commenting the release of the album. Along with a simpler construction of the tracks, the album was also unique because of the subtle acoustic "Etudes" which glued the material together.

The release date for both titles is scheduled for 13th October 2008 in Europe and 25th November in USA (via MVD). More...

Primordial Vocalist Alan Averill Checks In

Primordial vocalist Alan "Nemtheanger" Averill has posted the following update online:

"Summers fading into autumn. Well at least what we've been calling summer in 2008. For the second year in a row summer in Ireland barely crept over 20 degrees and was a rainy overcast bleak experience. Sounds very Black Metal, perhaps even more Doom Metal but the fact is it's been depressing. Mix it in with our spiral into recession and there seems to be a palpable gloom descending over the country as the nights get darker.

"I've addressed the issues as to why we couldn't play Dust to Doom and Caos Emergenta in previous Blogs so I don't think I need to go down that route again. Needless to say Simon is feeling well and we are hopefully going to be fighting fit for the remainder of the shows in 08. Thanks to many of you who write encouragement over the last few weeks.

"This year has also been had some of the absolute highs I've ever experienced in all my years in the band, the shows have been getting bigger and better but also some of the lows and at times a dark insight into the industry. The herd mentality of so many bands and paradoxically the lack of respect afforded many of them by the industry and the attitude of people who have crossed our paths in the "overground". People who never bothered with a band like Primordial now court our attention, ask our opinion on things, approach us or attempt to make a quick buck of our back. Perhaps if we were younger and more impressionable 2008 could have turned out far differently. As it was we found our old working practises coming under scrutiny as the band undenaibly grew bigger. As MT from Metal Blade told me, "All of a sudden now professional demands are being placed upon you". Professional demands on an unprofessional band. At times the stress has been great and I can speak for myself and say I've found myself sitting in the backstage circus surrounded by leeches and wondered is it all worth it. However once I set foot on the stage I find my perspective and find my reason. the Metal scene needs us. More...

Ted Nugent To Provide Security For Paul McCartney?

Right wing rocker Ted Nugent has offered to personally help with security for Paul McCartney at his upcoming concert in Israel. Ted Nugent states: “Regardless that Paul and I have our obvious social, cultural, and culinary differences outside of music, I will not bend or waiver to voodoo religious whackjobs and neither should Paul,” exclaimed Nugent.

“It would be my pleasure to keep this legendary musical hero safe from terrorists and madmen, and then buy him a nice dinner of tofu,

“I’m Dirty Harry with a ponytail, and I’m at Paul’s service,”

Hellsaw Signs to Napalm Records

Austrian black metal band, Hellsaw, have signed to Napalm Records. The band is fronted by the charismatic Aries (ex-Sanguis). The new Hellsaw album, "Cold," will be released in the spring of 2009.

Aries commented on the signing: "We are very proud to be a member of the Napalm family. Not only is it proof of our hard work, but also a major sign that Napalm Records return to their roots and put their faith in a fucked-up Austrian black metal band. We honor this sign of trust and in return will unleash our album "Cold" early next year. Fans can expect a composition of hate and brimstone, all-crushing blastbeats, and raw guitars filled with deep melancholy."

Arch Enemy To Re-Record Album Of Early Material

BW&BK writer Martin Popoff recently caught up with Michael Amott, who revealed current plans to re-record some early (pre-Angela Gossow) material for a new release as well as work on a new album. Here are some excerpts:

"We actually tracked drums already for a new record, which is… it's not a brand-new album in that sense, but we had another singer on the first three albums, before Angela joined. And we've basically taken 12 songs from that era of the band, from those three records, and we kind of redo those, with Angela and Sharlee, everybody, the current band. Daniel, for instance, didn't play drums on the second album. So it's just playing those songs the way we play them now and put them out next year. It's basically songs that we would like to start playing live again, you know, from the first three records. In Japan, those three records were big, but in the rest of the world nobody really knows about them. They didn't pick up in sales after we became gradually bigger with Angela in the band. Those first three records didn't get pulled along with that, because I guess people want to hear us how we are now, with Angela. But there are some great tunes there and we are redoing 12 of our favourites. So that's going to be coming out next year."

"And then slowly we are putting together music for the next record. But we toured really heavily on the last album, Rise Of The Tyrant, so we've been touring. So now this kind of came in so I haven't had much of a break. It's been the busiest couple of years I've ever had. And yeah, there are more people on the Toronto guest list than in our hometown. I guess we've been there too many times (laughs). But it's been good stuff. I love keeping busy. That's what we signed up for."

Am I Blood Frontman Gives Recording Update

Am I Blood frontman Janne Kerminen has issued the following update on the band's progress recording their new album:

"Hello Friends! All the shit with our album production is rolling on like a bulldozer. There's still tons of stuff to do, but all the 'hardest' sections are completed, sealed with the blood and blessed by the hand of metal.

"In the near future Ilves and our new excellent guitarist Tomi will take charge in AIB HQ and play the lead guitar parts. The idea of those upcoming moments is giving a big smile coz I have heard what guys got in their sleeves, and that's all pure murder!"

"Okay, let's cut the BS this time and start to focus on unfinished business."
