Gama Bomb Declares War On "Inferior Metal"
Irish thrashers Gama Bomb has come up with a unique idea for their upcoming "Thrashing Like A Maniac" tour with Bonded By Blood and Sworn Amongst.
Singer Philly Byrne explains: "The right to listen to neck-snapping turbo-charged metal is under threat. Gloomy, posey, idiotic metal stands between us and true enjoyment of thrash. We're all guilty of having bought some rubbish, not-quite-up-to-the-mark "metal" records at some point in our lives, but it’s time to root out those embarrassing t-shirts and albums and posters – because GAMA BOMB are offering YOU a chance to wipe the slate clean."
Starting at their first show on September 12th in Germany and running through each and every stop of the 10,000-mile, eleven-country tour, GAMA BOMB invite and encourage you to bring along the worst of your music collection – the embarrassing, the awkward and the downright rubbish CDs, records and merchandise hidden amongst your better purchases – and to collect them together so both you and GAMA BOMB can do what should have been done long ago – ritually shred, stamp and smash the living hell out of them!
The band will destroy the CDs and other paraphenalia onstage as part of their act and to start the process, Earache Records themselves will donate a thousand copies of "Planets" by Adema to the festivities.

Am I the only one who thinks that is lame? I mean yeah Adema are sh**. But if I wanted to get rid of my sh** cds (which I dont need to because I don't have any) I'd just give them away. Or sell them. Lol I dunno, just seems pointless. Wouldn't you rather enjoy the music and mosh?

Kalis, where are the women like you in my area?
Dark_Funeral, here's my list (in no real order):
Korn's full discography up to "See you on the other side"
Linkin Park up to "Meteora" release
Tripp pants from Hot Topic
Korn shirts from Hot Topic
Actually, most things from Hot Topic (except for the Immortal shirt and Behemoth shirt that I almost NEVER found)
Cradle of Filth's full discography up to Nymphetamine (they are not trve, they are not Black Metal)

^This is a band I really - REALLY - wish more people knew about. Every time I hear about the band 'The Red Chord' I get excited coz I think it's 'The Red Shore'. :P
Hmmm... I'm probably the only metalhead here who doesn't own a single band t-shirt... I dress like an every-day, average suburnanite slob lol. I like colours (all black is a NO), grey or blue jeans (only sometimes), shorts most of the time, normal t-shirts with no real particular brand or identifiable logo on it... indiscribable, indistinguishable clothes, really. But I actually like not having to dress myself in a certain way in order to suggest who I am. Dressing like a metalhead, emo, surfy, biker, hippy, metro, I can pull it all off, but I'd rather just be casual. It's more comfortable for me.

hmm...worst purchases for me are:
two - voyers
linkin park - meteora
nelly - nellyville
eifle 65 - europop (the most embarrassing cd i own, but i guess my only plausable defense is that i was 11 lol)
metallica - st. anger goes without saying, but unlike the others, it at least served a purpose by completing my metallica discography collection.
now playing: deicide - the lord's sedition

Christfvcker, I don't know where the women like me are in your area. I swear I feel like I am alone sometimes! Oh well! Some women are lacking in taste!
Wiggles, if I run accros that new album I shall pick it up, if not I may need a burn.
T.o.g, you are forgiven.
Termie, what were you thinking getting any Nelly album?!

Gah, I'm excited that people are finally hearing TRS... sitting on an audible gold mine by yourself sucks, man! The Red Shore and Synthetic Breed are my two fav Aussie acts at the mo. Both are genius.
Armoured Angel, man I don't even see them around much here in Aus. Vote 1 order it online lol.
And Nelly? Dude! What were you thinking?! It's all about 50cent :P hahah, eifle 65... man, when I was 11, I thought Savage Garden was the sh** lol. Pretty happy I grew out of that stage pretty quickly :)

Hmm.. when I was 11 I was listening to Alice in Chains and Soundgarden, Nirvana.. that was what was big for me then, and it was when I really started getting into music and picked up a guitar. I think the first CD I ever got was "Dirt" by Alice in Chains. Classic.

1. an Atreyu cd (I"m too emberassed to remember the name)
2. a Slipknot wallet...no, wait, I stole that, never mind.
3. A slipknot shirt I bought it after they "broke up", sort of as a memento, but then they got back together, so I set it on fire at their concert...
4. SLipknot 9.0...I see a pattern here....
5. I didn't buy it, but I did download the song "bat country" by Avenged Sevenfold. I only listened to it twice, but I can't bring myself to delete it!
Other than that, all I have is good purchases and happy mistakes, like buying a type o negative cd because I thought they were somebody else my friend had told me check out, but now I like that band a sh**load, and can't stand the band he told me to check out!
46. writes:
I regret buying Trivium the Crusade, and the most recent Tap Root album...lol. Loss of money...big time.
GOd, Tap Root sucks MEGA a$$ in a live setting. Trivium ain't that much better. I need to check out Gamma Bomb. I am finding a SHXT load of albums online lately. I am listening to Winds Of Plague..that is one good fukkin' album.

I find it hilarious that none of you are saying any local band's albums... I myself have plenty of those I would burn on the pyre first before I would ever burn even an album from Adema if I attended one of the shows. I live in the US though.
At least a big band like Adema you can blame it on them wanting money, local bands on the other hand... lack of skill isn't what they are saying, they are saying crap non metal or wannabe metal, meaning that local bands who think profanity makes their music heavier or more hardcore can join this pyre I will, in spirit of this band's idea, be burning in my back yard.
Even though I would prefer a lot of non metal over the "metal" thats been comin out as of late... Just sayign lets open our minds and expand this idea.

"Pigwalk" by Stuck Mojo was one that I bought.. I found it the other day and listened to it, then promptly threw it away.. a few other embarassing purchases I've made...
any Limp Bizkit CD -- gave those away a long time ago though.
Adema's "Planets", as mentioned earlier.
Nine Inch Nails' "Year Zero" -- I thought that CD was total garbage..
there's more, I just can't think of them right now, I guess.
