Agreed. Even all the clean parts (as poppy as some of them might sound) are pulled off well and the guitar work never really lets you down.

I've just gotten into this band recently. I listened to fall of ideals and i grew to really like that record alot. The only thing I thought was that the singer should sing more. Funny how I thought that, and I go and listen to this album and get my wish. This is a great record. I even think it may be a contender for metal album of the year. I'm very impressed with the guitar work and the nevermore cover on there is f***ing awesome.

Listened to it over and over, the guitar work is amazing. However im a little disappointed because the vocals are so weak compared to their older sh**. Their first album, Behind Silence and Solitude, was straight hardcore metal vocals. Then "This Darkened Heart" came out followed by "The Fall of Ideals" which mixed rough vocals with clean vocals, and it was amazing. However, when i listened to Overcome, all i could think about was this mainstream pop sound that ruined their original sound.
