Metallica To Tour With Scorpions?

Band Photo: Metallica (?)
Legendary photographer Ross Halfin has posted the following message at his website:
"It's been a Metallica weekend - kind of. Shot Metallica rehearsing new songs on the 02 stage for an hour. Then did a studio set up and got all the band to do photos. Of course Lars says while standing posing 'This isn't on the schedule.' Me: 'So?' He does what he's told. I got a lot done - I know I say this but I did, particularly of James. I gave him the new cover of Burrn! which I like (shot in LA) and Kirk was over the moon with Classic Rock's photos of him and THE SCORPIONS. He's talking to the band about doing a co-headline tour. Did some more of them warming up then shot the show. Hated the set list, found it boring - no 'Four Horsemen', 'Creeping Death', 'Damage Inc.' You get the new songs (fair enough with a new CD) but the rest of it I found a yawnfest - 'Wolf To Man', 'One' (never liked the song), 'Frantic', plus playing in the round there were so many monitors and veri-lights along the front of the stage you were looking up their noses. Walked onstage at the end and got them kicking huge black Metallica balls. I didn't get into it as I hadn't seen the show with new lights etc."

I don't know what band you were watching Wilco, cuz Scorps are one of the best bands LIVE! They have had some of the best reviews coming from critics!! The energy coming from these veterans of rock is amazing considering they have been constantly at it for over 35 years! They rock better than most new young bands. I would rather watch a good rawkin show by Scorps then most others, but Metallica and Scorps? SWEET! And yes Hetfield has always looked up to our Scorpions! If HE knows how good they are, then who are we to argue?? LOL

they got stuck in to the old days
they di dnot make some new stuff at all
remember seeing them
when iron maiden was there suport act that was the black out tour
they kicked a$$ the scorpions but
they were faling back to the newer stuff
nobody liked it
and the roblem with the scorpions is right now that there kick a$$ drummer herman rarbell
is no longer with them
and have to say why if they are that good they need help from the metal gods
and yes i do like there old stuff
but for them i think its more about the money
and as well they were never that big in europe
they had more luck in the usa
but hey you only look back on ther old stuff have you been lissening to there new stuff
it sucks royal a$$
maybe they do hav e kick a$$ guitar player or two but
claus meine his voice is not as it used to be
so live i do have my thoughts he cant make it any more

And hey, Wilco did you listen to SCORPIONS last album HUMANITY HOUR 1 ????
Do you really think such an excellent album can come out of nothing ?
I don't want to repeat what others have just said here, but the are almost 60 years old and kicking a$$ from almost 40 years...
As far as drummer I don't think JAMES KOTTAK has nothing to envy to HERMAN THE GERMAN
ROCK'NROLL will never die !!!

o yeah do i have go back in the past and say well tokyo tapes was there best
or black out
i am not like that i do like bands who move on
but it does not mean its one of mine favourite bands now

"they should take this tour to new orleans and galveston texas and have the scorps open with rock you like a hurricane every night."
f***in a$$hole! lol I didn't catch that at first, i thought you were actually making a real suggestion, and then I read it again. That is f***in low-brow but hilarious.
Now Playing: Metallica-The Judas Kiss

Yeah - Crawford didn't mean that to be malicious...but yeah pretty fukked up thing to say. Hurricanes are bad news. Texas is a strong community, though, and just like N.O., they will be bounce back. Thank God that heat wave is over..it was horrible during the hurricane, and I live like 300 miles from Houston.

This post brought back some lost brain cells. June 4 1988, Miami Orange Bowl Stadium. A band by the name of Kingdom Come opened, followed by Metallica, then Dokken, then The Scorpions, headlined by Van Halen. Cost : 25 bucks. Someone behind us threw a pack of firecrackers that landed on this guy 2 rows in front of me. The dude had no shirt on and it landed on his back. Quite sobering. Funny as hell. Thanks for the memory.

If they stuck with both bands 80's stuff that could be a kick a$$ show.
