Debello Recordings Signs Four New Bands

Debello Recordings has announced several new additions to their roster, including Destroy All Operating Systems and Black Sheep Wall (both from the S.F./L.A., California) along with Four Question Marks (aka ????) and Time To Burn (both from Paris, FR).

The label is set to release stateside versions of Time To Burn's "Is.Land" and Four Question Marks' "Titan" full-lengths sometime in late 2008 or early 2009. Black Sheep Wall's "I Am God Songs" is set for early Fall 2008, while Destroy All Operating System's nine-song, previously-unreleased debut, "Cerebellum Sounds," will be available shortly thereafter. All official release dates are pending.

"I couldn't be more pleased that such a talented handful of artists has committed to don the Debello moniker," comments Debello president Jean Wagner. "I feel that these bands truly have an understanding of Debello's mission, both personally and professionally, and together we'll surely accomplish great things. Welcome to the family!"

Pelican Gives Update On Releases, Tour Dates, More

Pelican has a bunch of touring, split releases and more video goodness upcoming. Here's an update from the band:

"So, folks, it has been quite awhile since a proper update on what's going on. We've been mostly taking Summer off, which is why there's been little to report. But we are revving into full gear for the Fall, so it's time to let you in on what's up our collective sleeves.

"First up to deck is our upcoming European tour with our trusted and talented labelmates Torche. Their new record 'Meanderthal' has been the soundtrack for the summer, and if their opening stint for Boris in Chicago was any indication folks had better ready to be pummeled with a combination of melody and pure heaviness. The tour begins September 12th and runs through October 12th. We will be hitting tons of places we've been before, but also a bunch of places we haven't. See our upcoming shows sections for more info. More...

Dark Tranquillity Parts Ways With Bassist

Swedish melodic death metallers, Dark Tranquillity, have issued the following update regarding the departure of bassist Michael Nicklasson:

"D.T. has parted ways with longtime bass player Michael Nicklasson. All booked shows will go on as scheduled with a session bassist. We thank Michael for his time in the band and wish him the best of luck in future endeavours. Here is a statement from him:"

"After almost 10 years and tons of tours and festivals, I chose to leave D.T. for personal reasons. It's been so cool all this time to meet all the people and the tons of fans around the world, and all the friends that I got during this amazing journey - crew, fans and all the people I (we) worked with. I can't name everyone, as the list would take up all the space on the web site, but I'm going to miss all of you that worked and supported us (me) during these years, but this is the right thing to do, I really need a break."
