The Berzerker Goes Independent For New Album

Fed up with the music industry, THE BERZERKER has decided to stay independent and release their latest album, "The Reawakening," themselves on their own label, Berzerker Industries.

Band mainman Luke Kenny had this to say: “I’m fucking sick to death of fans NOT knowing where there money is going when they buy a CD, Steve (Albini) has the right idea, to expose this shit once and for all. I mean, a percentage of your money is going to the fucking retarded bitch sitting behind the counter at the HMV/Tower, wherever she is, on the phone painting her fucking nails and couldn’t even tell you where the ‘metal section’ is if you asked her. So what if we sell less records being totally independent? At least NOW with Berzerker Industries, if people want to support us by NOT downloading our music, they can.”

For more information on how to obtain the album, you can head over to the band’s official MySpace page

Guns N Roses To Re-Issue Debut Album On Vinyl

The GUNS N' ROSES Newswire reports:

Universal Music are re-releasing Guns N' Roses' classic debut album Appetite For Destruction on vinyl. The LP is due on Tuesday, September 9th, 2008 and the cover features the controversial original artwork by Robert Williams.

Go to CD Universe to place your order today and be one of the first to receive this product when it arrives.

Product Description:

Already a legend in its own meagre lifetime, this startling debut shrouded itself in controversy, from its original Robert Williams artwork to Axl Rose's unblinking accounts of LA's underbelly. This mawkish storytelling, combined with a brattish collective swagger and a surprisingly mature approach to their songs, guaranteed Guns N' Roses a speedy notoriety that was to serve their legend brilliantly. From the laconic 'Paradise City' to the achingly beautiful 'Sweet Child O' Mine', or the furious 'Welcome To The Jungle', the record brims with a brutal integrity. An album they could never surpass even if they had stayed together.

Metallica Denies Political Undertones On Single

Metallica has denied that "The Day That Never Comes" is an attempt to send a political statement about America's ongoing involvement with the war in Iraq. The video for the song, which is due to be released in early September, depicts a solider aiding a wounded solider. The song will be the first single off the band's new album.

Speaking about the track, frontman James Hetfield told MTV News he hoped the band could put "the human element in what is an unfortunate part of life.

"There are people over there dealing with situations like this, and we're showing the human part of being there," he said.

"There are so many celebrities that soapbox their opinions, and people believe it's more valid because they're popular. For us, people are people — you should all have your own opinion."

Hetfield told MTV that he hoped the video would help "cut through" peoples opinions of the war.

"The politics and the religion tend to separate people, and what we're trying to do is bring it together with the common thread of resentment and forgiveness," he added.

"The Day That Never Comes" is the first song from the band's eagerly anticipated new album, "Death Magnetic," which will be released worldwide on September 12th.
