Possessed Frontman Jeff Becerra Seriously Ill
Jeff Becerra, frontman of the legendary band Possessed, has been taken seriously ill while the band were on tour. Becerra has been in a wheelchair for over 18 years as a result from a street robbery where he was shot and subsequently paralyzed. Apparantly while the band was on tour, a pressure sore became infected which spread to his bones and he was left unable to move. He was rushed to a hospital in Helsinki, Finland where the band were touring at the time but was flown to Paris, France, only to be told that the French doctors did not want to deal with such a sick American and flew him to Los Angeles, California. Jeff is now recovering at his home after spending 20 days in the hospital on strong antibiotics.

Yeah because Ameica did EVERYTHING in World War Two (sorry Dubya Dubya too) didn't they? The French were overrun by the Germans, they captured Paris, they had no choice but to surrender. Yes the Americans were a huge help in the Second Worls War but if you look at the Normandy landings, the Americans had way more trouble getting past the Germans than the British forces.

i never said usa is the best country in the world, but the french have for decades since ww2 contiuously snubbed their nose at their saviours from nazi slavery. sick system, u need to look at history before you snap back at something you obviously know nothing about!! as for the brits, i will say in most cases the brits did better at fighting some battles. but the french were a fuking joke of an army to begin with!!

yo oz, i was thinking about the d-day comment you said. if the brits and canadians had landed at the same spot the americans did, and vice versa for the americans, the brits may have had a tougher time getting through. its not that we, america, were a rag tag army, just got dropped off right into the meat grinder on omaha and utah beaches, while the brits and canadian, and "free french forces" landed in less defended areas. but as for this thread, i still say fuk the french drs. that didnt try to help him out.

You're probably right and that's a good point that I hadn't thought of. To be fair, I never slated the American army and I respect the war contributions that America made just as much as those made by Britain, Canada and Russia. The only reason I jumped like I did was over the "us Americans saved us from the Nazis" line. It really pisses me off when I hear statements like that because it makes it sound like you're saying America single handedly won the Second World War which as we both know is bullsh**.
As far as the French doctors go, yes it seems ridiculous that they wouldn't take him in because he was foreign but most hospitals in loads of countries won't take a man in that bad of condition if he's not from their country.
In conclusion, Possessed are a great band and worth checking out.

The British OWNED in WW2, hands down. They invented Radar, and they f***in held off the Nazi's for months before we really got involved. What America did, was give them the exttra bit of Awesomeness that they needed to f*** the Nazi's back to where they came from. The way I see it, a bunch of countries contributed greatly to beating back Hitler, but America and Britain had that war in their f***in pockets.

The British held the Nazis off and did a great bit of damage to them until (and while) we started helping, it's not like the U.S. army were saviors to the French or anything like that. It's an insult to every country that helped in WW2 to say that the U.S. saved France from the Nazis.
As for Jeff Becerra, I hope the guy gets better soon.

As far as I can see, all the other countries essentially "wrapped the present" and then later the U.S. came in and "tied the bow". Hitler was doomed. He had no oil and invaded the U.S.S.R. only to fail later on due to cold weather. Hitler would have lost eventually, the U.S. just made it quicker.

All I was sayin was Britain was the only country in Europe capable of holding Hitler off, and that was after he had conquered almost the entire continent, so props to them. He eventually would have taken them over, by sheer attrition if neccesary, but they held the Nazi's off for the longest time. Poland fell in a few weeks, and France in a few months, and that was when all Hitler had was the last good push of Germany's famished economy, so goddamnit the Brits held on tight to their knickers haha
I heard there was this one Soccer game over in Britain against Germany, where the announcer or somebody was trying to stir up the crowd and everthing, and One of the things he said was "STAND UP IF YOU WON THE WAR. STAND UP IF YOU WON THE WAR!"
I think there was a riot or something, but regardless, it was hilarious to me.

F.A.N. i agree, britian did a damn good job of holding off the nazis when the battle of britian was going on. however, if america had not sent tons of troops to england to prepare for d-day, do you trully think britian would have invaded nazi controlled europe or would they have sat there and kept biting their nails in hopes of an allied victory....all i am saying is if america had not gotten in when we did, the brits would have not had such a glorious time defeating and "owning" as others here have said..

death is a critical essential in sustaining life. without it, our species would over-populate to such extremes and would consequently decimate earth's resources and spawn diseases of incredible magnitude. these would probably result in our inevitable extinction much sooner. which would defeat our only real purpose - to survive the species. it's too bad that anyone has to spend their remaining hours/days/months of life suffering, but there's no law of nature stating that "life must be happy and death must be swift and painless and come at an understandably convenient time for all those affected by the death".
