daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaam, thats a so-so to good line-up. looks like the aussies finally got their wishes granted!!...lol, no offense intended, but ive seen numerous posts from aussies saying noone good every comes there...well, there ya go, enjoy the shows, and get pics for every1 to see!!!!
Yeah I dunno why people don't just go see Australian bands. Always good Melbourne hardcore shows on. Like every week.
I'll go, some pretty good bands on it. It was okay this year. Except for the metal/hardcore stage having a concrete pit. It was nuts. So much blood.
^I would rather have a concrete pit than the spot of dirt they let you have at Ozzfest and other big concerts. I would rather get my nose broken than swallow in that dust cloud that jumps up after 3 minutes...
I just don't understand Lamb of God/Bloodhound Gang/In Flames/New Found GLory/Billy Talent/Devildriver all on the same bill...This is going to have the most diverse fan base EVER.

Um I dunno why people say Australians dont get many good concerts...
We may not always get heaps of festivals of the one genre but Perth out of all cities gets heaps.
They only kinda happen at the start and end of year but we pretty much get everyone worth seeing over. Plus theres heaps of good local band IE; Grotesque, Nexus, Neverborn, Gallows For Grace plus a kick arse Sabbath tribute band and apparently an all female Iron Maiden tribute band.
Things are looking up afterall. Specially cause this motherf***er is coming. 2nd time to see lamb of god and 3rd time to see devil driver. Alice in chains, unearth and poisen the well...couldnt get anybetter specially after seeing Opeth, Messhugah, Down, Cog, Machinehead and slipknot and The Haunted..were getting dragonforce aswell and carcass but they dont really float my boat (Yes you can pay me out fans of those bands but I got one word for ya, DILLIGAF )
And you say we get f*** all?
^You're right, to a point. The fact is, we have been getting some pretty decent bands looking our way over the the last couple of years. It's been great, and now that we're being recognised as a viable place to tour, it can only get better. It remains, however, that traditionally, Australia was too out of the way, and did not have a large enough recognised metal fanbase, to be considered a financially viable place for bands from America or Europe to tour. It simply wasn't economical, it would cost the band too much. These days, however, the travel business has improved, it's easier, cheaper, and American and European bands now know that there are in fact quite a lot of metalheads down under. Since it has thus become more financially possible for bands (particularly the bigger ones that have more money) to tour here, we've been getting some decent coverage.
So traditionally, no, we didn't get many good tours. Over the last few years, however, that, thank f***, has changed. Now we get a fair bit of decent stuff hitting our shores :)
Psythe,
I have a car air freshener that says You Say Tomato I say f*** You, my boss at my last job got it for me, said it was my personality.
People of Australia enjoy, some good bands on there. People in the US spend a lot of time b****ing about bands, don't always realize how lucky we are to get so many tours, I live 20 miles from Chicago, there's a dozen shows a night around here.
