You can't get a hen to lay more eggs by threatening it but you can get a human to give you his eggs by threatening him. Steve Austin Documentary To Screen In France
"The Man Who Loves To Hurt Himself," an intense documentary film on Today Is The Day's iconic founding frontman Steve Austin, is slated to premiere at the International Filmmaker Festival of World Cinema in Nice, France in May.
Directed and filmed by Anthony Short, "The Man Who Loves To Hurt Himself" takes a look at Steve Austin's nearly three decade-long career as a musician and his reflection of life. Short spent two years following Austin around the U.S. on tour, listening to his inner thoughts and questions about life like a fly on the wall.
In his own words, he guides the watcher through this world by stream of consciousness. This reflects the conversations he has with himself in his head -- a first-person account. If you were to have your life flash before your eyes right before you die, this film is what Steve Austin might see about himself.
"The Man Who Loves To Hurt Himself" was selected to screen at the International Filmmaker Festival of World Cinema in Nice, France, an offshoot of the world-famous Cannes Film Festival, taking place from May 13th through 20th. Anthony Short has been nominated for Best Director for the film. More...

From The Dust Returned Releases Debut EP
"Homecoming" - the debut EP by the Italian progressive rock/metal band From The Dust Returned - was issued today (March 30th) via Sliptrick Records.
Trying to blend the musical personality of each member of the band, the EP showcases the combination of elements such as heavy metal, hard rock, progressive and psychedelic music through the six songs that recall 70’ sounds from dark atmospheres to acoustic melodies.
The album’s themes focus on several inner problems like schizophrenia, clinophobia, depression, selfishness and fear to love. Each theme becomes the song’s main subject. However, the real focus of Homecoming is in the opposite duality represented by the contrasting elements in the band: two opposing voices, Alex’s clean voice and Marco’s growl, acoustic against distorted guitars. All providing constant changes of atmospheres within the music.
The EP’s title was chosen by Marco Del Bufalo and was inspired by a chapter of the fix-up fantasy novel, "From The Dust Returned" written by Ray Bradbury. The title refers to the meeting of the band members, who came from different and varied musical backgrounds. This variety gives the band it’s very particular identity.
The EP track listing is:
1. Harlequeen
2. Homecoming
3. Echoes Of Faces
4. Glare
5. Wipe Away The Rain
6. Sleepless More...
