Greek symphonic progressive metal band Quadrus was formed by panist/guitarist and composer John Galanakis in the summer of 2014. Galanakis immediately began working on the compositions and orchestrations for what was to be the band’s debut album, “Entropia” and he was lucky enough to quickly find other like-minded and accomplished musicians as partners.
“Entropia” is a concept album dealing with mankind’s history as well as the endless cycle of the interdependence between humanity and the universe. The answers to such burning questions as “how did it all begin,” “what brought about our downfall," “what is the meaning of life," as well as others are all well hidden inside the album allowing the listener to judge as well as interpret a deeper meaning.
The album features two notable guest appearances: guitarist George Constantine Kratsas (Manhattan Project) and vocalist Iliana Tsakiraki (Enemy Of Reality) and it is set for release on April 14th on CD and digital formats. More...

Another anthem from NYC's Crushed is here today, with a stream of "Narc" now available below. Crushed brings it hard and raw with a noise-drenched version of New York hardcore – think Madball's stagedive soundtracks, by way of Unsane's sewer-dwelling noise-rock or Uniform's harshness.
Fittingly, the new EP "Deep User" (due out April 14th) was recorded and mixed by Uniform guitarist Ben Greenberg.
Lyrically, Crushed is hardcore from an adult's point-of-view – frontman Fred Miketa states, "the entire album is about being a single dad battling with addiction and reflecting on getting older."
Miketa says hardcore saved his life as a kid, and now through Crushed it is saving him for the second time. "Deep User" was mastered by Josh Bonati (Pharmakon, Merchandise) and can be pre-ordered here. More...

This is the second video the band has released off latest LP "Heliospectrum" that came out late last year. Bulla goes on to say, "The visualization reflects a struggle with the unknown and unusual, leaving those conflicted with a sense of delusional hopelessness towards an ideal resolve."

"It's as good as it gets, topped off with amazing artwork from Visual Amnesia. Meticulously concocted and executed, this is a contemporary gem in the style, and taking into account that such music is being crafted from this part of the world, it's no mean feat. U.K. crusty death/doom outfit Vallenfyre has set June 2nd as release date for its third album "Fear Those Who Fear Him," which drops via Century Media Records.
Recorded by the band's new core line-up consisting of Gregor Mackintosh (vocals and guitar), Hamish Glencross (guitar and bass) and Waltteri Väyrynen (drums), "Fear Those Who Fear Him" was once again produced by Kurt Ballou (Converge, Nails, etc.) at GodCity Studio in Salem, MA and mastered by Brad Boatright (Obituary, Beastmilk, YOB) at Audiosiege Mastering in Portland, OR. The cover artwork (shown below) was created by Hal Rotter.
Greg Mackintosh comments: "Most bands refine their sound over the first 2 or 3 albums. Becoming more technically adept and honing their craft. Vallenfyre have done almost exactly the opposite. We have devolved, made things simpler and crush most of the melody under swathes of rotting noise. From 'A Fragile King' to 'Splinters' and now to 'Fear Those Who Fear Him,' we have become more savage, more raw and less compromising!"
"Fear Those Who Fear Him" will be released as Gatefold LP+CD on limited colored and black 180 gram vinyl, as a special edition digipak (international version), Jewelcase CD (Canada, USA, Mexico only) and on all digital/streaming platforms.
Inspired by the likes of Hellhammer/Celtic Frost, Autopsy, Antisect, Discharge, Nihilist/Entombed, early Napalm Death, early Bathory, and Conflict, Vallenfyre has forged a trademark sound between rotting death metal driven by a chainsaw like guitar sound, filthy doses of crust and early grind as well as crushing, depraved doom.
The track listing is as follows:
1. Born To Decay (01:48)
2. Messiah (02:00)
3. Degeneration (03:10)
