Glorious clean vocals adorn "Threadbare," the latest gem of a track from blackened hardcore phenoms Hellkeeper - check it out below.
Comparisons to Converge and Rotten Sound have been flying around regarding Hellkeeper – new track "Threadbare" shows the band to be capable of a whole other dimension of melody, on top of its brutal base.
"Threadbare" appears on upcoming new album "A World Within Flesh," due out April 7th. The album was recorded, mixed, and mastered by Chris Bittner at Applehead Studios (Coheed and Cambria, Bad Brains, Team Sleep).
"The album is about wanting to live in a dream world because reality is too painful," says frontman Paul Butler. His lyrics use literary references to paint their pictures of depression: "I utilized ideas from Hamlet and Don Delillo's White Noise, among other books."
Hellkeeper is next due to play with Malignancy this coming March 30th at Saint Vitus Bar in Brooklyn. More...
Montana-based project Eneferns has inked a deal with Bindrune Recordings and Nordvis Produktion. The label comments:
"The realm of doom metal has it's own life and special place in the pantheon of musicians who feel at home embracing the dark/downtrodden themes and sounds unleashed by this colorful musical medium.
"Eneferens planted its flag there with 2 impressive releases last year that caught our ear thanks to sole innovator, Jori Apedaile's, brilliant take on the genre. 'In The Hours Beneath' and 'The Inward Cold' were both released independently and feature a form of doom that is empowered by deep death and black metal stylistic traits that weave in superior harmonies and unshakable moments of melancholy which bring to mind the olden years of Katatonia and other doom influenced innovators found lurking in the early 90's.
"With varying vocal styles and a touch of folk instrumentation, Eneferens has unveiled a well of inspiration and indication of the quality yet to come. Bindrune and Nordvis shall be giving Eneferens most recent opus, 'The Inner Cold,' a worldwide release on CD/LP/digital in the coming months as Jori continues to prepare his follow-up release slated for late fall/early winter.
"Eneferens is a powerful force upcoming in the underground and we are honored to help bring this music to the woodland masses! Stay tuned for more news as it becomes available!" More...

Eclipse Records is excited to announce the signing of Twelve Noon to an exclusive, worldwide deal. Based in the suburbs of Pittsburgh, PA, Twelve Noon is a five-piece alternative metal band with the ability to translate the raw emotions of life, love, and despair into meaningful, memorable songs. Watch the official teaser video for the band’s debut album "Saints and Sinners" (to be released this summer) in the player below.

As Twelve Noon began gigging throughout western Pennsylvania, supporting bands such as We Are Harlot, and Texas Hippie Coalition, eventually the band caught the attention of Eclipse Records A&R executive Chris Poland.
“Working close with Chris has been a pleasure and experience” says guitarist Rob Heil. “He really understands the business inside and out.”
Vocalist Michael Loew continues, “Signing to Eclipse Records is an opportunity with endless possibilities. I'm looking forward to being a part of such a hard working and driven label.” More...

“This album is a culmination of everything I have been working on with Pteroglyph over the last few years," states Jimmy MacGregor, the one man behind the UK based project. Recently, he completed work on his latest work, "Death Of A Prince," which is set for release on June 23rd.
Founded in 2012 in Leeds, in the northern English county of Yorkshire Jimmy craved something to channel his musical and artistic works into and so, Pteroglyph (pronounced "terroh gliff") was born. Inspired by his own journey through life and musical greats the likes of Devin Townsend, Sylosis and Gojira one should expect adjectives such as grand, epic, progressive, technical, metal and heavy being used to describe the latest record.
"The themes and ideas behind the songs are drawn from personal life experiences that we all deal with on a regular basis such as love, death, anger and misery. It is an honest statement of my personality and views on the world brought to life through obnoxious screaming and dramatic aural landscapes! This album and Pteroglyph is most certainly a labour of love. Whether it’s the furious rage of one song to some of the more melancholy aspects of the album, it’s an expression of who I am and reflects everything I love about heavy music. Bringing this live to the stage is going to create something very special and extremely punishing that you will not want to miss! I hope everyone can dig all the music as much as I’ve enjoyed it creating it!” More...

Italian neoclassical metal act Steel Seal will release the new album "The Lion's Den" via Underground Symphony this year.
Power and melody, harmony and aggressiveness melted in one white-hot steel casting in this new Steel Seal album. For the third full length, and first since 2010's Redemption Denied, the band has tapped ex-Rhapsody of Fire/Angra/Eternal Idol vocalist Fabio Lione. Lione follows in the band's tradition of hiring powerful vocalists, having previously tapped D.C. Cooper (Royal Hunt) and Thomas Vikstrom (Therion/ex-Candlemass).

Italy's Fate Unburied came together from the group's need to find a unique musical language. This language goes beyond the patterns of modern metal, as the band offers a style with a heart in death metal, but surrounded by many other influences, combining riffs that are driven and dynamic but also melodic and inspiring. It’s a highly effective combination of power and atmosphere, which creates a distinctive and varied sound. Today, the band issued details of the upcoming debut record "Logos," to be released soon via Sliptrick Records. As a taste, check out the opening track "It's Late" streaming in the player below.
"Logos" is the perfect example of this concept containing all the elements that propel the band. Starting with a death metal core, it goes through many tangents, creating a specific, strong and personal sound with a marked progressive influence. With a determination to explore and try new ideas, the band even inserted some passages with a Marimba to give a more exotic and mystical atmosphere. The lyrics follow the main theme from the Greek philosophical concept of the "Logos": a universal law which rules everything through reason and need. The album's songs analyze the human condition and the events that afflict it. An intellectual concept yes, but delivered with panache! More...
U.K. progressive metal act Threshold has parted ways with vocalist Damian Wilson. The band has chosen to start a new chapter without him and he has stated he respects the group's decision.
The band commented: "Wilson enjoyed three stints with Threshold, performing on the band's most recent records 'For The Journey' and 'March Of Progress,' as well as their early releases 'Wounded Land' and 'Extinct Instinct' in the 1990's. Damian Wilson has been a great frontman for Threshoold and the band would like to sincerely thank him and wish him every success in his future endeavours."
Damian Wilson also issued a statement that reads: "Unfortunately this is not a mutual decision, but I respect it. After I had recorded the album and committed to the tour I was informed that Threshold were going to continue on without me. They have every right to make this choice, although it is difficult to part ways with a group of people you’ve shared so many experiences with.
"I really enjoyed the past decade recording and touring with Threshold and wish them all the best for the future, with the hope we might work again on projects somewhere down the line.
The label Nuclear Blast are amazing, and with the wonderful support of the fan base the whole journey of being the frontman for Threshold has been fantastic." More...
