Fit For An Autopsy just released a new video the "Black Mammoth" track, which can be seen below, and the band also comments:
"We were recording the new record when the shit hit the fan in North Dakota, and felt compelled to write a song that would address it. This short clip we pieced together gives a little insight into the events that have transpired over the past few months throughout the protests.
"It got bad, then it got better, then it got worse, and now the natives of North Dakota need more help than ever, so we're launching an additional CD/shirt bundle in conjunction with the single.
"All the profits from this sale will go directly to the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe - Dakota Access Pipeline Fund. No one in this country should have their rights denied or their homes taken from them." More...
Ektomorf just checked in with this announcement about gearing up to release a new live DVD later this year:
"Here you go the art work and title of our DVD! Will be out in 2017 May - 'Warpath (Live and Life on the Road)' two disc released a DVD with our entire 2016 Wacken show and a movie about being the on the road an life at home with behind the scenes filming!
Today, a transmission from the constellation of Oranssi Pazuzu has arrived, detailing a slew of long-awaited reissues as well as a new EP to coincide with an extensive European tour, and it reads as thus:
"So it's 2017, which means the Orange Spirit of the Wind is now ten years into the existence. We are celebrating by touring the Mental Possession MMXVII [tour dates below], but also by recovering some old sounds to please your record playing habits.
"During the last few years, we have had many people asking from us about the availability of our earlier albums, the vinyl versions of both and also the debut CD being sold out for some time now. We have been promising a repress basically since 2011, when the vinyls first came out, and we are very happy to say this is finally being realized.
"To us, both 'Muukalainen puhuu' and 'Kosmonument' nowadays sound something like a different band, but they still embody many of our principal musical ideas in songs like 'Korppi' or 'Kaaos hallitsee.' A shorter chapter - but at least for us an important one - in our early evolution was the four-song session we did for a split album with Tampere underground friends Candy Cane in 2010. These songs were going for a more metallic sound after the trippier debut, and they would probably have fitted among 'Kosmonument' cuts nicely. They are now reissued as a standalone 12” EP, remastered for a better sound quality. More...
Hells Headbangers is proud to present a special, LONG-overdue reissue of Black Death's self-titled, debut album.
Highly sought after by collectors, not only is Black Death a crucial piece in the rich history of Cleveland heavy metal, its original 1984 release marks the first full-length release by an all African American heavy metal band. More than that, with the band's origins dating back to 1977, Black Death is largely known to be the first African American metal band.
But most of all, Black Death's lone album is a classic of raw 'n' wild heavy fucking metal with a thirst for the epic and dramatic. Black Death's original lineup consisted of Siki Spacek on lead vocals and lead guitar, Phillip Bullard on drums and percussion, bassist Daryl Harris, and guitarist Gregg Hicks.
"This was the original, classic lineup of the band," says Spacek. "I met these guys waaaaaay back in 1977 while I was in the 11th grade, on the exact same day that I was expelled from school. At this point in time, I had already decided that music was the direction that I wanted to take my life in, and heavy metal was the perfect way to accomplish this goal." More...

The 3rd annual Ride For Ronnie motorcycle ride and concert, benefiting the Ronnie James Dio Stand Up and Shout Cancer Fund, will take place on Sunday, May 7th. Riders will assemble for a continental breakfast at Harley-Davidson of Glendale with kickstands up at 11AM.

In an interview with Billboard, Trunk explains that he was first invited by Wendy Dio to host Ronnie James Dio's memorial service in 2010, and since then has donated his time to host several subsequent events in support of the Ronnie James Dio Stand Up and Shout Cancer Fund's quest for cancer research. The Moon And The Nightspirit is a Hungarian duo that creates enchanting and melancholic folk music enhanced by a bewitching pagan aura where threads of ancient mysticism combine with phantasmagoric atmospheres.
The group will release new LP, "Metanoia," on March 17th via Prophecy Productions (Alcest, Darkher). In advance of the record's release, today new song "Mysteron Mega" comes online and can be heard below.
Following the departure of singer Seann Nicols from Quiet Riot, both Frontiers Music Srl and band leader Frankie Banali have made the joint decision to delay the release of new record "Road Rage" until later this summer.
Both the band and label feel that in order to truly represent Quiet Riot's lineup, new lead singer James Durbin should be the vocalist on "Road Rage." In order to execute that plan and promote the album accordingly, the band will go back into the studio and record the album with Durbin on vocals.
Regarding the decision, Banali said, "After careful consideration, with the support of Frontiers and understanding the appeals from Quiet Riot fans to have our vocalist James Durbin represented on the new release, we have made the decision to move forward and have James replace all the vocals on "Road Rage" with new lyrics and melodies for a summer 2017 release. Stay tuned!" More...

A demoralizing single from Washington, DC-based Pain Tank and the impending "97,901,726 Confirmed Kills" debut album has been declassified today. Check out "When Integrity Means Death" below.
"97,901,726 Confirmed Kills" is a figure that seeks to tally the number of deaths - both military and civilian, foreign and domestic - that were caused by all wars America has been involved in. Pain Tank is a mirror to the suffering of this world, not an act created for shock value. Critical thinking is pain. Growth is pain. Pain Tank is a means to confront the darkest, most atrocious acts of mankind.
This new album will see official release on digital and CD platforms through the band's own independent Edgewood Arsenal Records this coming March 17th, 2017. More...
Art Of Anarchy today debuts hard-driving new track “Echo Of A Scream,” taken off impending offering "The Madness," set for a March 24th release via Century Media Records. Listen in below, and a new music video for the aforementioned track is set to be shot at the end of this month.
The group is also currently preparing for a first-ever national headlining tour starting April 3rd - head over here for all dates and “meet and greet” VIP package options.
Scott Stapp states: “The track, 'Echo of a Scream,' is a chronicle of the curse of self doubt. It speaks to a place in life when confidence has been lost and you feel like your a shell of your former self or as the lyric describes it, an 'echo of a scream.' It touches on the internal dialog within the mind of someone wrestling with feeling disconnected from who they really are and lost in trying to find their way back to their true self. Its two competing voices, the negative self talk voice contrasted with the voice trying to fight it and overcome it.
"John Moyer brought the initial music bed to the band and we all really liked the drive and energy so we decided to track it. John while out with his other band Disturbed played the music for David Draiman (Disturbed) and David came up with a great melody idea for the chorus. Zac Maloy and I wrote the lyrics and then the melodies for the verses and the rest is history. This song was a true collaborative effort with Bumblefoot and John Votta writing monster solos. I'm really happy with how the song came out and its one of my favorites on the record. More...
Ice-T’s Body Count today streams new track, “The Ski Mask Way,” which can be heard below. The track is featured on the band’s impending effort "Bloodlust," set for a March 31st release via Century Media Records.
The band's front man states: “I was noticing people on the streets showing off their expensive jewelry and money on social media. They are just making themselves a target for the robbers out there just watching their Instagram to see what they are flaunting.
"In LA, they call Instagram ‘Jacker’s Uber,’ seeing what clubs people are at and live-stream the robbers to their front-door. That was the impetuous to creating this track, ‘The Ski Mask Way,’ and there will be an official music video coming for it very soon."
In case you might have missed it, be sure to check out Ice-T’s brand new podcast to hear snippets of all the new tracks on "Bloodlust" with in-depth explanations of each song. The previously released full track "No Lives Matter" can also be found over here. More...
Longstanding hardcore group Integrity recently completed recording a 12th studio album, which will be titled "Howling, For The Nightmare Shall Consume."

Me And That Man today unveils "Cross My Heart And Hope To Die," another track taken from forthcoming debut album, "Songs of Love And Death," which is set for release on 24th March via Cooking Vinyl.
A collaboration between Behemoth's Nergal and British/Polish rock musician John Porter, Me And That Man showcases a very different side of the musical spectrum, drawing on dark narratives familiar to fans of Nick Cave, Tom Waits, and Leonard Cohen.
Nergal explains, "I need Me And That Man to keep the balance, as the potential of my mother band seems limitless. It gets bigger and bigger, more advanced and more sophisticated... and darker ...and blacker. But Me And That Man is at the opposite pole, artistically speaking. This is not happy music, but it's liberating." More...

Aarrrrrrrr, the one and only heavy metal pirates of Alestorm are back, and they've brought with them their fifth full-length album titled "No Grave But The Sea"! Time to put on your eye patch and let the rum flow freely for the unstoppable international party machine, as Alestorm has finally announced first and hotly anticipated details on the brand new album!
"No Grave But The Sea" will be released on May 26th via Napalm Records and now the band, fronted by Captain Christopher Bowes, unveiled the cover art as well and track listing.
Says the band: "Oh wow! It's a new Alestorm album! I hope all of you fellow humans & dogs like it; we think it's pretty gosh darn ok! It's also our first album to feature our grandiose guitarist Máté Bodor who brings his tasty & delicious solos and rifftacular riffing into the mix. This is the place in the press release where we would usually tell you this album is darker and heavier than our previous works, but that's probably not true. It is, however, full of epic songs about pirates, drinking, and pseudoscientific cryptogeography. I'm sure y'all will enjoy those things just as much as we do."

Legendary Swedish death metal act Sarcasm has returned with the sophomore full length album "Within the Sphere of Ethereal Minds." The album will be released April 28th via Dark Descent Records. A lyric video for new song "In The Grip of Awakening Times" is available in the player below.
Following the unearthing of the first proper full-length, "Burial Dimensions" (originally recorded in 1994 and officially released in 2016), the new long player is in a sense the payoff of a long, bumpy history that included demos, compilations, and an EP ("Scattered Ashes" in 2000). Indeed, it is the full realization of Sarcasm's blackened Swedish Death Metal sound, yet with an identity all its own.
While the music of all eight tracks was written by guitarist Peter Laitinen, he somehow did find that perfect balance in between that very specific sense of melody that could only be summarized as 'typically Swedish' (fans of the early No Fashion records catalogue will know exactly what we mean here), raging speed and brutality. With one foot firmly planted in the mid-90's and another in the present, Sarcasm is no nostalgia trip, but a genuine return to form to that specific mix of black and death-metal, before saccharine riffing and cheesy clean vocals took over and ruined it all. Moving from the melancholic leads of "Embodiment of Source," they answer with the blast-o-thon that is "Scars of a Land Forgotten" or the epic-to-kill-all-epic that is the eight-minute-plus "A Black Veil for Earth."
The track list for the release is:
1. Bloodsoaked Sunrise
2. From the Crimson Fog They Emerged
3. Embodiment of Source
4. Scars of a Land Forgotten
5. In the Grip of Awakening Times
6. Silent Waves Summoned Your Inner Being
7. A Black Veil for Earth
8. The Drowning Light at the Edge of the Dawn More...

The new year is off to an awesome start, as Steamhammer/SPV has signed legendary metal band The Rods for the world. The group consisting of the original members David "Rock" Feinstein (guitar, vocals), Carl Canedy (drums) and Garry Bordonaro (bass) always delivered a classic brand of metal and hard rock with strong influences that date back to 1970s.
Drummer Carl Canedy says: "The 3rd time's a charm! After two unsuccessful attempts, to work with Olly Hahn and Steamhammer/SPV, it is finally happening. The Rods have signed a worldwide deal for the brand new album 'Louder Than Loud.' This album, in my opinion, has some of the strongest Rods material in years. The title says it all!"
Olly Hahn, A&R and International Product Manager at Steamhammer/SPV, is thrilled : "I remember when I saw an ad for the album 'Wild Dogs' in a German magazine back in 1982. I immediately had to have the album although I had no idea what I can expect musicwise. The cover was so awesome and when I put the album on my turntable I was blown away. Now 35 years later it's fantastic to say the following sentence: We're proud and happy to welcome The Rods to our big Steamhammer family!" More...

Along with the release of "Justify & Reason," SynaptiK is premiering a lyric video for the new son "The incredible Machine" in the player below.
The creative process for "Justify & Reason" was a great, positive experience. Singer John Knight commented: “We have honed our skills and built on the knowledge gained from the experiences recording the debut album and channeled these into ‘Justify and Reason.’ The way we wrote and recorded this album seemed to work a hell of a lot better for us this time. A lot more time spent on pre-studio recording and getting everything sounding right, working on guitar harmonies, new drum patterns that fit the riffs and feel of the songs better. So when it came to recording it, it was quite a nice chilled but yet focused time, we got the whole album recorded in just a week.” More...

Comments the band's frontman Tyler “Telle” Smith: "We wanted to bridge the gap between our newest album Dark Matter and the writing process of what will become our fifth studio album,. It’s incredible to know the exact direction we will be exploring with our next record before writing even one song. After Warped Tour, it was clear that we had something special with our newer material, especially songs like ‘Trapped‘, ‘Made This Way‘, and ‘Dreamer‘. We wanted to morph those songs into something that would be an extension of those three songs in particular. Heavy, ambient, ominous at times, and much more personal than our previous material."
Check out now "Misery" below.
