Aegror Signs Record Deal
German black / death metal band Aegror just issued this announcement about inking a record deal and gearing up to release a new album:
"A long lapse of time went by since Mithyr and Narthaas shared the passion for music and founded their first band called Nebelsturm together in 2005. In 2008 they changed the bands name to Aegror according to the lyrical concept of their first LP 'De Morbis' which has been released in 2010.
"After the line up has changed a few times in the past the band now has a stable line up with Mithyr, Narthaas, Acorus, Skarrg and Abyssus. Together the five members create unique and passionate black/death metal which is incompareable to other bands in this scene.
"And now - after 12 years - of hard work, blood, sweat and vomit they are fucking proud to announce that Aegror has finally signed to STF-Records & the Satura Publishing Company! Our new album 'Dead Man's Diary' will be released on 02.06.2017.
"Thanks to all of you who supported us the whole time! Special thanks to Mia Mane Photography for this great new Promo-Photos, to Metallurgy Tonstudio and to Convictive!" More...

Wolfkhan Releasing Debut Album
An album consisting of nine bizarre stories stemming from mental trash and dark corners of odd fantasy, Wolfkhan’s debut full-length album, "Cyber Necro Spirituals," is due out April 25th, 2017 via Arachnophobia Records. Wolfkhan is a rather unknown name. The project’s history, however, dates back to the early 90s. Mainman Marcin Gasiorowski, also known as the leader of Thy Worshiper, comments:
"Wolfkhan has come into being after Thy Worshiper's demo 'Tym z krainy cieni' ('To those from the shadow realm'). Somehow, I've always had some other ideas which I thought were worth recording. This is when we released the first demo.
"The second one saw the light of day after Thy Worshiper album 'Signum' had been unleashed. You can still watch the video for the single 'El Diablo' on YouTube. I have always cooperated on subsequent Wolfkhan's releases with Thy Worshiper guitar players. Recently, I felt the creative call when we had come back with 'Czarna dzika czerwien' record. There was something I needed to get out of my system."
To many, a soon-to-be-unleashed debut album will be the first exposure to Wolfkhan. Thy Worshiper's longtime guitarist Dariusz Kubala, as well as the band’s past and present female vocalists have contributed to the material. However, when compared to last year's "Klechdy" record, the contents of "Cyber Necro Spirituals" are more like an audio acid trip.
Wolfkhan's founder explains: “I didn't have a direction. The whole thing just came out by itself. One inspiration which possibly affected the way this record is like was the reading experience of the 'Black Oceans' novel by Jacek Dukaj." More...
Hideous Divinity Posts New Song
With the release of "Adveniens," the new long player from Italian death metal legion Hideous Divinity, drawing closer to release, today the "Sub Specie Aeternitatis" track is offered for public consumption.
Elaborates guitarist Enrico Schettino of the track: "Sometimes when you write music, or when you listen to music, you're blessed with a feeling that may last just a couple of seconds. The feeling that Baruch Spinoza would have called a view from the perspective of the eternal, in Latin is 'Sub Specie Aeternitatis.'
"It's like our Angelus Novus, becoming one with God and experiencing the truth of what's first for nature. The nature speaks to the poet, and the poet becomes historian. Here's an ode to the poet, to the world, and its fumy remains. Here's another violent reflection on art, using the only language Hideous Divinity knows." More...

Infernal Tenebra Denied Entry To U.S.
Like with Wormrot and several others before, you can add Infernal Tenebra to the growing list of foreign bands unable to enter the U.S. for touring due to tightening travel restrictions. The band just issued this statement about canceling a previously scheduled trek alongside Testament and Sepultura due to kick off today:
"Can't win them all! Unfortunately, we were denied visas and can’t enter USA territory at this moment, so we had to cancel our support tour with Testament.
"This past few months were really a nerve wrecking experience. We tried our best to get the proper documents; lawyers in US were contacted, a shit ton of e-mails sent, we went to the US Embassy twice, but it’s just funny how it wasn’t meant to be this time. And it seems this current situation is not affecting only us.
"To make the long story short, just check a few links and you’ll get the picture:

All Hell Releases "Laid To Unrest" Video
The "Grave Alchemist" full-length, a horror concept album that weaves a tale of alchemy, necromancy, and vampirism over the span of three centuries, is due to drop via Prosthetic Records April 14th. As a precursor to its release, today All Hell's "Laid To Unrest" is unveiled in the form of a video - check it out below.
"As 'The Grave Alchemist' is essentially an album in two parts, we felt that Side A (Side Solve) needed to end with what felt like an album closer, thus the nature of 'Laid To Unrest,'" elaborates vocalist/guitarist Jacob Curwen.
He goes on to say, "Conceptually, this song represents the dissolution of the Alchemist; a temporary state of death analogous to the dark night of the soul, linked to the alchemical processes of Putrefactio and Fermentatio. The Alchemist is struck down for his crimes and buried alive as he utters the Words of his Return. The video takes cues from German Expressionists, particularly Wiene and Murnau, whose silent works, infused with dark and powerful symbolism, have now haunted viewers for nearly a century." More...

Ensiferum Checks In From The Studio
Ensiferum recently entered the Astia studio in Lappeenranta, Finland to begin work on a seventh full-length, which will be produced once again by Anssi Kippo (Children Of Bodom, Impaled Nazarene, Entwine).
Set to be released September 2017 via Metal Blade Records, the quintet has now issued an update about the recording process from in the studio. Sami Hinkka (bass) comments:
"Hi, folks! Greetings from the Astia studio! For this album, we wanted to catch our live energy on a totally new level with the best possible sound. So every song was played together while recording drums. Most of the bass lines were also taken from those live takes to guarantee the maximum groove. There are songs on the album we recorded without a click so get ready for some serious rocking, people!
"Since Anssi Kippo is such a studio wizard, he has synced his legendary Otari MTR-90mk2 2" 24 -tape recording machine (recognizable, for example, from Metallica's 'Nothing Else Matters' video) with his computer, so we will record drums, bass, rhythm guitars and lead vocals on tape, and the rest that can't fit on the tape, we'll record on computer. Also the mixing will be done the analogue way on tape to make sure that the sound will remain as raw, punchy and as unprocessed as possible. More...

Fixions Streaming "Genocity"
Formed in 2012, Fixions is a French cyberpunk/dark wave project created by Slo from Smohalla, HKY and Alien Syndrome 777. Having already produced three full-length albums, a soundtrack for a video game ("Mother Russia Bleeds") and numerous EPs, Fixions is rapidly conquering a leading position in the scene.
Influenced by classic movies such as Blade Runner, Akira, Ghost in the Shell, the extreme metal scene from the 90s, and Amiga video games, Fixions evolves in a style mixing dark and surrealistic elements with bombastic, powerful production, and a solid 80/90s dystopic science-fiction aura.

Charlatan Streaming Full New Album
Groundbreaking, taboo-shattering scrap metal crew Charlatan is gearing up to drop the "Remarkable" debut LP via Revival Recordings tomorrow - April 7th.
Forget waiting 24 hours to hear it though, because we're bringing you all 10 tracks early!
Check out the album below, produced and engineered by Dan Whittaker of High Vibe Recordings, and if you missed it, a recently launched video for the "China" track is also online right here.
Formed in 2008 in Salina, Utah by lead vocalist Grey and guitarist Austin Heath, it wasn't until 2013, after guitarist Tyler Baker Craig was added, that the zany musicians decided to spread some high-spirited, hard hitting music. Charlatan pokes fun at reality through sarcasm, irony and humor to show taking things too seriously only limits people in expressing their ideas.
Whether through goofy antics or thought-provoking music videos, Charlatan has managed to emphasize a unique brand of humor and respect for dialogue in every possible aspect. Frontman Grey comments:
"We like to think of each of our songs as the start of a conversation, usually conversations built on navigating very real and sensitive issues. The people we want to reach are those who aren’t afraid to express their opinions, whether they love us or hate us, and be part of that conversation.” More...
Ghost Guitarist Steps Forward About Lawsuit
Recently it was reveled that several Nameless Ghouls from the past lineup of Ghost are suing front man Papa Emeritus (Tobias Forge). Now one of those Ghouls has unmasked himself and several others as well. Former Ghost guitarist Simon Söderberg issued this statement via Facebook:
"As of yesterday we, four signatories from the band Ghost, have filed a lawsuit with the Linköping District Court. We are suing Tobias Forge (”Papa Emeritus”) – the band’s lead singer who has also been responsible for the finances of the band since its founding.
"As of the filing of this lawsuit we are requesting that the court, under penalty, oblige Tobias Forge to declare the incomes as well as expenses of the band concerning the years between 2011 and 2016.
"Throughout all the years we have been on tour with Ghost (between 2011-2016 some of us have performed something like 500 shows with the band) and throughout the band’s album recordings, we have neither been allowed to share in the profits of the band, nor have we seen any of the incomes accounted for.
"The only thing we have received have been minimal advance payments to allow the band to keep going. This despite the fact that we had an agreement that any profits should be shared fairly between the members of the band.
"When we have attempted to raise the issue of the band’s finances with Tobias Forge his sole response has been that there are so far no profits to be share, but that everyone will be generously compensated once the band turns a profit.
"The reason that this lawsuit is now being filed is a contract dispute that has escalated during the previous year (2016). Over the last year we have received multiple proposed contracts from Tobias Forge in which he seeks to redefine his role in the band.
"Since the conception of Ghost our common understanding and agreement has been that we are a band on equal terms, but that Tobias will act as band leader and manage the band’s finances through his own companies. More...

Ghost Horizon Premieres "The Erotics Of Disgust"
New post-black metal opus "The Erotics Of Disgust" will surprise you at every turn when it officially drops tomorrow, April 7th.
Ahead of that release date, today we've got the entire EP exclusively streaming in full below! Give it a listen, and if you dig this non-traditional sound, be sure to pre-order a copy over here.
Ghost Horizon consists of founder Dan Stollings (Ex Psychobliss, Severed Receptors) and drummer "Frog" Magus (Norse). Stollings comments that the EP "has been waiting in the darkness for quite a while now--it's been completed for months. It's been hard to let this EP into the world, because in a lot of ways, I'm sharing some pretty deep emotions that I would never talk about otherwise."
He goes on to say, "I've been through a lot of ups and downs in the process of it's creation, and I think that's reflected pretty heavily in the music. The decision to do the vocals myself was also a part of this realization that in order to portray exactly what I'm thinking, I need to use my own voice. Nothing on this album is perfect. I didn't want it to be perfect. At first I went into writing with the mentality that this will be the best produced thing I've ever done, but after finishing the vocals, I realized this thing needs to be raw. And so it was." Dope/Combichrist Conquer Austin, Texas
April 3rd, 2017
The Blood, Lust Death Tour arrived at Grizzly Hall in Austin, Texas with one of the best industrial packages of the year. A reunited Dope took the stage with Combichrist, September Mourning and Davey Suicide supporting. While there were quite a few Combichrist fans supporting wearing the band’s t-shirts, the headliner certainly brought in the most people.
Before the tour bands got underway, though, there were some locals. Sine was the first local act I was able to catch at the early hour of 7 PM. Doors at Grizzly opened at 6, so the opener was without much of a crowd. They might have only played in front of 25 people, but Sine played like they were in front of a crowd in triple digits. Their front woman, Rona Rogueheart had a beautiful-yet-aggressive voice. The band played dark industrial music with a synthetic quality that was very danceable, thus they did their job and warmed up the venue for the headliners. More...
Krossfyre Signs With Hells Headbangers
Hells Headbangers announces the signing of Spain's Krossfyre. The first fruit of this union shall be the band's six-song debut EP, "Burning Torches." Check out the new song "Fire Solution," which also reveals the cover art, in the player below. The release date for the EP will be announced soon.
Krossfyre formed only last year, but set to work on writing and recording "Burning Torches," completing the six-song/20-minute EP last September at Moontower Studios. Although an otherwise brand-new name, Krossfyre include among their ranks members who do or have done time in such bands as Sheidim, Spain's Graveyard, Körgull the Exterminator, Insulters, Morbid Flesh, and Suspiral.
References to be made include classic Nifelheim and Vomitor, but also early Tribulation, later Desaster, Gospel of the Horns, Bestial Mockery, and Nocturnal Graves among others. But the sheer charisma and cantankerous esprit Krossfyre exude - not to mention infectious, gloriously METAL songwriting - puts the band squarely amongst those hallowed ranks. Early days still, to be sure, but on evidence of the forthcoming "Burning Torches," the name Krossfyre will soon be upon the tongues of diehards worldwide soon enough.
A statement from the band reads: "Playing blackened heavy/thrash evil music, Hells Headbangers was our very first choice for obvious reasons. It is the home of Hobbs' Angel of Death, Vomitor, and Blood Feast just to name a few of an endless list. No other label can presume to have such a strong, high profile and respected roster, especially these days where labels need to adapt to new trends or disappear. We put all our energy and effort into Burning Torches, and we're sure that Hells Headbangers will know how to push it the way it deserves!"
