U.S. metalcore quartet Hollow (not to be confused with the Canadian black/death metal band of the same name) has released debut single "Anomaly." The single comes from upcoming debut album "Home Isn't Where The Heart Is," which is set to release on June 9th.
The band formerly known as Hollow Heart mixes together a variety of styles on this release for a modern metal sound. Pre-orders are online here and bassist / vocalist John Flynn comments:
"'Home Is Not Where The Heart Is' was originally going to be a concept album, and these lyrics were the only ones we kept after we decided against that. It's all about how bleak the future looks. They describe all of humanity being narrowed down to one big city that's sucking up the rest of our natural resources. So inside the walls everything looks fine, but the rest of world is just a big desert. It's very Mad Max and it's very Matrix." More...

Hailing from the barren wasteland of Finland, Church of Void is a five man doom rock band. Founded in 2010 by vocalist Magus Corvus and G. Funeral (ex-Horna, Battlelore), the band's first sign of life was the limited run EP "Winter Is Coming."
After a 2013 LP released by Finland's own Svart Records and a handful of split releases, the band has now found a new home with the Italian Argonauta Records. The label comments:
"Drawing influence from traditional doom such as Saint Vitus and Pentagram as well as grim rockers like Mana Mana, Church of Void blends their music into upbeat killers, slow-as-snail crushers and vintage hard rock. With five strong songwriters and performers Church of Void is an act to recognize, people either love or loathe them.
"Church of Void has left its mark on Finnish doom in addition to bringing grief and ecstasy to other European nations such as Estonian, Swedes and Brits. Church of Void is looking forward to playing in your local CD player. More info will follow soon." More...
Eclipse Records is thrilled to announce the signing of Australian metal band As Paradise Falls for an exclusive worldwide deal.
While recording a studio effort in 2015, the unexpected passing of the band's guitarist put everything on hold. Swedish doom trio Vokonis is due to release "The Sunken Djinn" album on Ripple Music this coming June 9th, 2017. Today the title track comes online and can be heard below ahead of the track being release as a single arriving on LP format in mid-May.
This album marks a huge leap forward in sound and scope for the band. Still loosely rooted in traditional stoner rock with enough lumbering fuzz riffs and monolithic grooves to keep you in a permanent fug of mystification, this time around the entire Vokonis approach is tempered by an even darker psychedelic perspective. No scene-politics. No narcissistic self-obsession. Nothing but crushing, cerebral death metal designed to stimulate the senses and expand the mind.
This is the ethos of Nottingham-based quartet Beyond Grace, and the driving force behind new album "Seekers," set for self-release on the 7th of July, 2017.
Formed (or, more accurately, re-formed) in 2014 with a new line-up, a new name, and a whole new direction, the band spent the next few years honing a sound and live show experience into something as distinctive as it is devastating, touring and sharing stages with such acts as The Monolith Deathcult, Becoming the Archetype, Darkane, Mithras, and Demonic Resurrection, to name but a few.
In late 2015, the band began the process of recording what would eventually become "Seekers," working through a variety of setbacks, screw-ups, and acts of (self) sabotage along the way, while also dealing with issues ranging from catastrophic equipment failure to one unexpected (and unsettling) bout of internal bleeding.
Vocalist Andy Walmsley comments, "It's taken us an unbelievable amount of time to pull this album together. There's been lots of setbacks and mistakes along the way. Quite a few of them entirely of our own making. But it's brought us all closer together, made us better musicians, and made us a better band collectively. And that's what's most important to us - to be better. Not necessarily in competition with other bands, but for ourselves and on our own terms. To write better, to play better, to keep getting smarter and more creative so we can always be proud of what we do. There's no room for compromise or half-measures." More...
Epic Death drummer Reece Stanley has joined up with Omen and will be touring with that band beginning at the end of April.

"We can't be happier for our brother in arms," stated Epic Death vocalist/lead guitar player Vamp (aka Dennis Dorsett). Details on the impending trek are available in the tour poster below. More...
French rock/metal crossover group Volker recently announced the release of upcoming melodic assault "Dead Doll," which will be hitting North American retailers on May 26th, 2017.
Today, Volker is pleased to reveal the first single off the new album, entitled "Voodoo Baby." The track charges forward with a raucous hard rock-meets-punk sound, weaving eerie throwback sci-fi film sounds throughout. "Voodoo Baby" is propelled by frontwoman Jen Nyx's signature horror-driven lyricism.
Guitarist and lead composer Ulrich Wegrich says, "It may come as no surprise that this song is about Voodoo stuff! It's about a lady magician owning her mystical powers and using her spells on men... for revenge! With its energetic beat and touch of 80's pop/punk/rock, this track definitely gives listeners an idea of what Volker is all about!" More...
Today the Italian theatrical metal crew In Tormentata Quiete is proud to present the band's 4th full-length album, titled "Finestatico." My Kingdom Music comments:
"It will be the natural continuation of 'Cromagia' with a more direct and metal production (thanks also to the great work done at Domination Studio by Simone Mularoni) and will describe a vision a man has when he faces his creations and compares this vision to a journey into the universe as metaphor of our innermost recesses."
The cover artwork was crafted once again by Luca Antoniazzi with designs by Giovanna Pugliano - check it out below. Pre-orders are online here and the "Finestatico" track listing will be as follows:
4. Eta Carinae

Destrage has now released an in-depth making-of clip for latest album "A Means To No End," which is out now via Metal Blade. Destrage's Matteo Di Giola (guitar) comments:
"The best thing about entering the studio is that the rest of the world stays out. The band members and the studio crew captured the images themselves, behind closed doors, to focus on what was the most immersive and challenging record-making of their career. Now, a year from then, the external eye of a talented director sums it up and makes it a tale. Big thanks go to Bode Music Gear for making this possible."
To support this outstanding album, Destrage will join Periphery and The Contortionist next week on the "European Unrest Tour." See below for all dates. More...
We're doing two Pit Stories today because some incompetent moron by the name of xFiruath couldn't get his shit together and post one up when it was supposed to go live yesterday.
This is part two of those stories, and oh guys, oh, oh guys, have we got a tale for you today. It's got everything: bat wing action, stapled scrotums, and a whole different, hairy kind of moshing than you'd ever imagine to see.
Canadian group Slagduster offered up the following baffling description of a show that will never, ever be forgotten by anyone who attended:
So, a few years back we were touring with Expain, and they brought themselves a camera along to record any ridiculous footage they could capture. After a show in Edmonton, they convinced at least two guys to staple gun their scrotums not only to bar stools and tables, but also apexing on each other’s legs and finally scrotum to scrotum stapling action. Side note, possibly inspired by the band intermission blood-soaked gorelesque performers.
Flash forward one year, we return to the same venue with Expain again. Our between song banter often gets out of hand, and obviously it was hard not to bring up the previous year’s events… long story short, during the next song, a group of guys had been unintentionally persuaded to pull out their man bags in a circle scrotum pulling mosh pit. We’re talking a half dozen burly grown males minimum, stretching their bat wings through their jean holes at each other. All the while headbanging like their lives depended on it. Cheers, Edmonton.
Which dumb ass didn't get a Pit Story up yesterday during its normal Tuesday slot? That would be this dumb ass, right here. Sorry everyone, and to make it up to you, we're doing double Pit Story duty today!
First up we have a tale from Brandon Saller of rock group Hell Or Highwater, and who just happens to handle drum duties for a little band called Atreyu.
Saller had this tale to share of getting the metal fans into a less heavy group on tour:
Years back Atreyu where on a headlining tour with a band called Endless Hallway. They where a rock band on a metal tour so the crowd took some time to receive them. They where friends of ours so I wanted to do what I could to make the set great. Every night they would cover Nirvana's "Breed" and I would go in the crowd and start a circle pit. From that point on the set would go off. The funny part was when people realized it was me starting a pit. It was a fun face to face hang with our fans. I could only hope someone would do that for Hell Or Highwater if we got put in that situation.
Hell Or Hightwater's new album "Vista" will be released on May 19th, 2017. Check out advance song "Walk Out In The Rain" below, followed by a complete list of upcoming tour dates. More...
Death metal group Amentia from Belarus is gearing up to release the "Scourge" album this coming May 8th, 2017 via Satanath Records and Amputated Vein Records.
Today we're premiering a new lyric video off the album - check out "I Don't Believe" below. Although you might suspect it was an anthem of disbelief, instead this track deals with a junkie chasing after that elusive high.
Third full-length album "Scourge" features seven uncompromising tracks aimed at killing your brain cells with each second of brutal sound. Get ready for chopping ax rhythmic riffs, machine gun bursts of drum fills and blast beats, perverted paranoid solos, soul-destroying vocals, and grinding virtuosic bass.
