Norwegian death / doom crew Among Gods is now streaming new single "Vinter," which can be heard in the SoundCloud player below. The band comments:
“Alongside penning down songs for our next release, we have been working on mixing a song from our doom vault. ‘Vinter’ from the 'Monument' album sessions been mixed in Consternation Studio and features Gunnhild Huser on vocals along with Kenneth’s voice. ‘Vinter’ (Winter in English) is titled and sung in Norwegian language.
"Gunnhild joined us on this song with her delicate voice and hearing her sing these words in Norwegian bring us back to the early 90´s, with a 3rd & The Mortal vibe. Based on the feeling of the harsh cold nature during a Norwegian winter, the song stands out as an atypical AG song but with the true norwegian roots deep in our hearts."
In related news, the band now officially welcomes Andreas Johansen & Jonis Forland to the Among Gods ranks with this statement: “They are both in the band Ashowa, Andreas join us on drums and Jonis on bass and we are very pleased to make this announcement. We now have full focus putting together a new live set, and there will be gigs ahead. After this we will again start working on writing new songs for the forthcoming AG album… doom over the world!" Vancouver's Ninjaspy released lastest album "Spüken" last week, which was again produced by GGGarth Richardson (Rage Against the Machine, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Mudvayne, Gallows) and Ben Kaplan (Biffy Clyro, Atreyu, Haste the Day).
In celebration of its relesae, a full stream premiere of the album has come online and can be heard below. Vocalist / guitarist Joel Parent comments:
"'Spüken' is the musical equivalent of a magician removing his own entrails. The guts just keep coming, like handkerchiefs from a sleeve, and its painful, colourful and cathartic all at once, in the same way that vomiting after hours of nausea is such a relief. The musical ideas that came together in this project span many years and come from many influences. Hearing them all together is a trip.
"There were a lot of hard times in the years while this record was being written and most, if not all of these songs are tied together by the search for something greater than oneself. Empowerment by going through ones pain, all this is woven into an album that is another spastic stylistic roller coaster not unlike our previous albums, but with smoother blending.
"From song to song there is a lot of variance, but within songs we have managed to take contrasting genres and combine them in more nuanced ways, with less hard cuts. This album is colourful, and the palette is dark." More...

Described as "fiendishly clever and highly addictive," Wolfkhan’s debut album is streaming now in its entirety below. "Cyber Necro Spirituals" is officially due out on the 25 of April, 2017 via Arachnophobia Records.
Wolfkhan is a rather unknown name. The project’s history, however, dates back to the early 90s. Mainman Marcin Gasiorowski, also known as the leader of Thy Worshiper, comments:
"Wolfkhan has come into being after Thy Worshiper's demo 'Tym z krainy cieni' ('To those from the shadow realm'). Somehow, I've always had some other ideas which I thought were worth recording. This is when we released the first demo. The second one saw the light of day after Thy Worshiper album 'Signum' had been unleashed.
"You can still watch the video for the single 'El Diablo' on YouTube. I have always cooperated on subsequent Wolfkhan's releases with Thy Worshiper guitar players. Recently, I felt the creative call when we had come back with 'zarna dzika czerwien' record. There was something I needed to get out of my system." More...

Anathema, which recently revealed the new song “Springfield” (streaming here) from the band’s forthcoming album "The Optimist" (June 9th, Kscope), is now thrilled to announce first North American dates since 2014.
The nine dates, which kick off on August 16th in Baltimore, include stops in New York, Chicago and a trio of Canadian dates. Tickets will be available this Friday the 21st.

Ungraved Apparition will unleash new full-length album titled "Pulse_0" on April 23rd via GrimmDistribution, a label partner of Satanath Records.
As we near that release date, today we've got an exclusive premiere of the album's seventh track, which translates to "Extreme Phenomenon." Pre-orders for the album are online here.
The track assaults with a combination of several styles at once, telling a whole story from the first person. First we start with a blistering assault of technical death metal as the main character suddenly gets into a car accident. Then we shift to death metal with a slow swaying as demonized workers appear on the stage and take the main character to the local hospital branch. Soon a shift occurs towards metalcore as we see what happens within the walls of the filthy hospital, with sadistic masters watching on during a brutal bacchanalia. Finally we end with atmospheric some death / doom, with the main character eventually reaching the morgue and going through rigor mortis.
Ungraved Apparition hails from Ekaterinburg, Russia, and was founded in late 2014 by three members: Micky Babossa (guitar), Paul Kas (drums), and Leon Kratt (bass guitar). In the process of creating the material, the musicians felt the need for a powerful and heavier sound, thus in August 2015 Bones Taker joined them as the second guitarist, mainly for playing the solos. Accompanying him was Damned for the role of the vocalist.
The band's debut album "Pulse_0" is a concept of how musicians see the inner world of a person and his desperate struggle for every minute of life. For more info on the band, follow the official Ungraved Apparition website or VK page. More...
Apparently there was an issue at the Inferno Fest this weekend with front man Abbath walking off the stage a few songs into the band's set. The organizers of the festival issued this comment:
"We are very sorry that Abbath left the stage after 30 minutes into their show. Of course this has nothing to do with the festival and an official statement will come from the band. We hope you all had a great festival even that the night was cut a bit shorter than expected. Thanks for your understanding!"
Nothing official has arrived from Abbath yet, but we'll update when it does. In the mean time, where's what a few festival attendees commented via Facebook:
Martin Undfors: He played 4 songs and it sounded Super-great! Awesome energy on stage and everything was good. But then he suddenly throws his guitar in the floor hard as fuck and walks of stage. Then drumsolo for some minutes before they close the gig.
J-p Kneip: Can confirm, 4 songs in, everything seemed ok, then he leaves the stage. We thought it was a technical issue and the drummer played an improvised solo, I think he didn't know what was going on either. After that, he went backstage too and 10 minutes later, one of the Inferno guys came on stage and said that they (the band?) had asked him to tell people they wouldn't finish the show and that they would issue a statement later. It's very unprofessional, even if there were technical problems or problems within the band, the show must go on.More...
"Vae Victis" by December's Fire is a landmark of its own epoch, and now thanks to a reissue by Arachnophobia Records, this gem will be available once again. The remastered CD is due out on the 25 of April. 2017.
The newly remastered title track is streaming below and pre-orders are online here. Whether for authentic fascination or tongue-in-cheek nostalgia, the memory of the only December’s Fire full-length lives on.
Originally released in 1996 by Last Epitaph Productions from Germany, "Vae Victis" in many ways embodies the aspirations of the Polish metal underground of the mid-90s period - especially of those who sought new ways of expression on its fringes. Piotr Weltrowski, member of Hefeystos and Behemoth collaborator, was at the forefront of this current. December's Fire was his solo undertaking.
Verses of songs such as “Patrz jak plona dzikie róze” (translates to: “Look How the Wild Roses Burn”) and the title track were given a passionate interpretation by Behemoth's Nergal, and they are now something which dozens of fans know by heart. Marcin Rybicki of Left Hand Sounds studio was responsible for remastering and refreshing the sound of "Vae Victis." More...
Chilean thrashers Nuclear today announce a new European tour slated for June and July 2017. For nearly half of the dates, Nuclear will be accompanied by Conflicted, a young promising thrash metal band also from Chile.
This tour will mark the end of the promotion of Nuclear's most recent release "Formula For Anarchy" (Candlelight Records, 2015) as it is expected that the follow-up album will see the light in early 2018.
