Jorn Releasing New Album

Frontiers Music Srl is delighted to announce the release of Jorn's brand new studio album, entitled "Life on Death Road," this coming June 2nd, 2017.

"Life On Death Road" took several months of hard work for the songwriting vision to come together. The result is a record that is deep, strong, full of groove and powerful with anthemic songs aplenty.

Jorn says, "It's easily one of the best albums I've ever recorded. This was all about putting the right people together for the right result, and about taking the necessary time to work more thoroughly and in depth with the material we chose for the album. The older I get, the more I feel it is necessary to listen to my heart and look for that genuine and honest feeling that made me take interest in music in the first place. Back in the 70's and early 80's when I grew up, people and music were more free and so the presence of feeling and soul came more naturally and was expected from an artist or a band.

"This is the energy and craftmanship we've been looking for, but still keeping a pulse on the modern times we live in. 'Life On Death Road' is an original album that is pretty much summing up the last 40-50 years of rock and metal and has become a hybrid modern heavy rock album without losing those tasty elements of a good aged wine. Regardless, we're all products of our time, and the feeling, soul and symbioses we've achieved for this album is a rarity in today's music world, so in that sense this album is a true old school sailors' 'tall ship adventure.' From start to finish it took us nearly three years to finalize and I'm really proud to say that this album is the proof that classic albums can still be made." More...

Merzbow Mutilates Mortiis

The latest single from Mortiis’ "The Great Corrupter" album comes courtesy of the Japanese dark ambient noise artist Merzbow, who twists “Bleed Like You” into a completely new form.

“This is not a remix - it's abuse,” said Mortiis. “The good kind. If you prefer your music traditional, and your audio all pleasant and polished, you should consider walking away now. It is Merzbow mutilating Mortiis. I never really thought that that was going happen, and I don't think anyone else did either!”

Much like his own original recordings, Merzbow’s interpretation of “Bleed Like You” is an instrumental attack on the senses.

“We've been trying to think a bit different art-wise for the last few singles,” said Mortiis. “I thought the time was right to try art directions that were not typical of Mortiis to take. The Merzbow remix single art is another idea I've had for a long time. As usual, it's morphed from the original idea, into a different beast almost entirely, in time. But what else is new?” More...

Recorded by the band’s new core line-up consisting of Greg Mackintosh (vocals and guitar), Hamish Glencross (guitar and bass), and Waltteri Väyrynen (drums), “Fear Those Who Fear Him” was once produced by Kurt Ballou (Converge, Nails, etc.) at GodCity Studio in Salem, MA and mastered by Brad Boatright (Obituary, Beastmilk, YOB) at Audiosiege Mastering in Portland, OR.

The Crawling Streams Full New Album

Today, Northern Irish doom crew The Crawling releases debut album "Anatomy Of Loss." Check out a full stream below. The Crawling vocalist & guitarist Andy Clarke comments:

"'Anatomy of Loss' is an album inspired by true events. It examines experiences of the band first hand, and what we see in our everyday lives. In short, it is a collection of stories about loss, regret and despondency.

"It looks at how people develop mechanisms to cope with grief, failure and heartbreak; and more often than not - the inability to do so. The recording process consisted of fun, despair, rage and subsequently immense satisfaction. Translating a song from the rehearsal studio to record is a daunting task, but this album was particularly challenging."

Unleash The Archers Posts New Video

"Cleanse The Bloodlines" is the first track off of Unleash The Archers' upcoming album "Apex." Check out a music video for the track below. Front woman Brittney Slayes states:

"We are beyond stoked to finally debut a track from the new album, and this song was unanimously chosen as the first single by the whole band, no question. It's a heavy song so we wanted a heavy video, and we think that Richard (Olak, director) did an incredible job of capturing the essence of the album perfectly.

"It was a brutal two days of filming in zero degree weather, but it was worth it, and we think it turned out well. We filmed with a 6K RED Weapon, one of the best cameras out there right now, and the cinematic quality adds to the dark nature of the lyrical content. We think our fans are really going to like this one!"

Netherbird Premieres Full Rarities Collection

Swedish prominent melodic black / death metal act Netherbird is releasing a compilation album today, which features rarities & covers from the group's 13 year long journey.

You can pick up your copy of "Hymns From Realms Yonder" here, or check out our U.S. exclusive stream of the full album below.

Netherbird sprung into existence in October of 2004 in Stockholm, Sweden when Nephente, Bizmark, and Grim decided to start collaborating.

The goal was to create harsh metal with influences from both black and death metal without any regard or limitation when it comes to style. Since that journey began, the band has released four well-received albums featuring guest appearances from members of At the Gates, Katatonia, Lord Belial, Dissection, among others.

A broad retrospective of all rarities, covers and non-album tracks throughout Netherbird history, "Hymns From Realms Yonder" is a must-have for every collector. Tunes that were once available as digital releases only have now been gathered into one CD summarizing the band’s creative journey through the first decade of its existence. Written and recorded during different session and lineups, these songs present a staggering sonic rollercoaster when it comes to their sound, tone and atmosphere, at the same time remaining recognizable and keeping all the distinctive elements that made Netherbird what it is today.

Original tunes (single b-sides as well as limited EP’s material) are placed alongside several cover versions of renowned classics of metal, including Annihilator, Paradise Lost, and Sentenced. Vika Yermolyeva’s masterpiece piano rendition of "Pillars of the Sky" is definitely a rare gem to crown the album. Check out the full album below, and follow the latest on Netherbird at Facebook here. More...
