River Black Posts "Low"

River Black is now streaming the first brutal track taken from the band's self-titled debut album, scheduled for release on July 7th, 2017. Check out advance song "Low" in the YouTube player. Vocalist Mike Olender comments on behalf of River Black:

"Our first track out, 'Low' is an expression of horror at how religion can become twisted and manipulated by charlatans and demagogues. It was inspired by a news report I heard about a journalist who spent some time with the now-deceased Isis leader 'Johnny Jihad.'

"It revealed how this man used brutality with the purpose of inspiring others with similarly twisted minds. He used videos of his actions as recruiting tools. I was struck by the thought that there are people out there, who not only wouldn't be repelled by these horrific videos, but actually excited and inspired by the images of this man gleefully sawing off the heads of the orange-clad victims kneeling before him. Faiths have always had these characters throughout history, but it is surreal to realize we are living in such dark historic times."

Impure Wilhelmina Posts "Great Falls Beyond Death"

Impure Wilhelmina today premieres the first track taken from new album, "Radiation," which has been slated for release on July 7th. Regarding the new song, Impure Wilhelmina comments:

"We have chosen the opening track 'Great Falls Beyond Death' of our new full-length entitled 'Radiation' for the first premiere. The song starts with an easy melody line and a massive guitar that both evolve into a more dark and twisted tune.

"The vocals grow steadily more epic until the song coalesces into its melancholic finale – evoking fatalism, fanaticism, ignorance, and the fear of death. We see it as a perfect way to start the journey towards our new album – to take-off and then fall through an uncharted musical radiation."

Suffering Hour Unveils New Album

Today the death metal mavericks from Suffering Hour premiere new track "For the Putridity of Man." The track hails from the band's upcoming album, "In Passing Ascension," set for international release on May 26th via Blood Harvest Records on both CD and vinyl formats.

One of the most exciting new bands Blood Harvest has had the pleasure of hearing, Suffering Hour exhibits a power and maturity that exceeds the band's otherwise short existence.

Cover art was created by Witchrist's Alexander Brown, and the band also comments on this new album release: "Suffering Hour are proud to announce our allegiance with Swedish label Blood Harvest. We will be releasing our debut album, 'In Passing Ascension,' on CD and on black and colored wax. Blood Harvest has done releases for some of our personal favorite bands, such as Altars, Impetuous Ritual, and Adversarial, just to name a few.

"We are extremely excited to be working with a label of this quality in every respect of the word, and we're 100% sure Rodrigo will be doing our album justice. In Passing Ascension is an album we have been working on since summer of 2014, and after years of hard work, we're ready to present the album to you all. The album is our take on cosmic blackened death metal, with themes deeply rooted in nihilism and cynicism. Some of the big influences on this album range from Inquisition and Mgla to The Chasm and Dead Congregation. There will be more news coming soon, so stay tuned."

Dystopia Streams "Black Death"

Dutch black metal crew Dystopia will unleash second full-length album, "Chaos Philosophorum," on April 21st. The band has now unveiled the second track entitled "Black Death" - listen in below.

Dystopia comments: "'Black Death' explores the idea of what it means to live in a dystopia. It's about the thought that a dystopic society can't only exist because of a corrupt government, but it can also materialize by the absence of one. What happens when your leaders die because of the black plague? What happens when nobody knows what to do and the structure of civilization falls apart? It is a mixture of doom and fleeting hope and the music reflects that."

The album was recorded at Studio Helvete in Den Helder, mixed by Thomas Cochrane of TC Music Productions and finally mastered by Brad Boatright at Audiosiege. Artwork for the follow-up to 2013's "Haat" was designed by Adam Burke from Nightjar Illustration.

Incontinence Streaming "Inner Psychopath"

Featuring members of Skinless, Held Under, Armor Column, Dry Heave, and Burial, New York death metal band Incontinence today unleashes a new song and lyric video, "Inner Psychopath."

"The song is about a guy a lot of people know," begins vocalist and guitarist David Seacord, "and that is a guy who believes in crackpot conspiracy theories to the point that he believes that the forces of the so-called new world order are going to come for him someday. He's believed this for a long time, but these mysterious forces haven't come for him yet, so he is practically begging someone, anyone, to break into his house just so he can have an excuse to kill someone with impunity."

Shadow Of Intent Posts "The Catacombs"

West Hartford, CT symphonic deathcore outfit Shadow of Intent just premiered a lyric video for an all new track entitled "The Catacombs," which can be seen below.

The song features guest vocal performances from Jason Evans (Ingested) and Dickie Allen (Infant Annihilator) and is taken from forthcoming sophomore album, "Reclaimer," which is set to be released on April 28th, 2017.

"Reclaimer" was produced and engineered by guitarist Chris Wiseman, with Buster Odeholm handling mixing and mastering, and features crushing guest vocal performances on several tracks from Jason Evans, Dickie Allen, Alex Shikolai (Slaughter To Prevail) and Tom Barber (Lorna Shore).

The band had the following to say about the new track: "We stepped out of our comfort zone a bit for this song. This is the first song we've written that's not focusing on melody or technicality, but rather heaviness and energy, all while trying to keep it 'us.' We tried to make every song on Reclaimer have a different approach and feel, rather than having every song on the album blend together. We also had the pleasure of featuring a couple friends of ours on this album, and for this track in particular both Jason and Dickie performed excellently." More...

Artificial Brain Posts "Static Shattering"

Long Island's sci-fi death metal group Artificial Brain issues new single "Static Shattering" today as new record "Infrared Horizon" nears release through Profound Lore Records next week.

Produced by Colin Marson (Gorguts, Dysrhythmia, Krallice) at The Thousand Caves, "Infrared Horizon" sees Artificial Brain traveling towards a sonic realm where the music has become more brutal and dissonant, technical, atmospheric, and just overall more otherworldly.

Lyrical themes delve into concepts within a dystopian future in which robots and cyborgs have outlived human beings and who believe themselves to be not a creation of the long extinct humans, but instead a more perfect evolution of them. These themes are portrayed in the cover art crafted by Adam Burke. Check out a new song below, and catch the band live on these dates:

Tombs Streaming "Cold"

On June 16th, Brooklyn's Tombs will release fourth full-length album "The Grand Annihilation" via Metal Blade Records. For a preview of the album, the first single "Cold" can be streamed below.

Produced once again by Erik Rutan (Cannibal Corpse, Soilent Green, Belphegor, Hate Eternal), "The Grand Annihilation" remains rooted in the blackened, post-metallic sound that the band has become known for since 2007's self-titled EP, while also being the group's most experimental record to-date.

"If you've been following Tombs, you probably know to expect the unexpected, and I always strive to present a full range of emotion on everything with the band's name on it," front man Mike Hill explains. "That said, this is a very dark and introspective record that digs deep into the common ideas of mortality, infinity and cosmic mysteries. The lyrics on the new record are a celebration of freedom through embracing the dark side. Once you realize that you follow the dark path - the path of the individual - there is a certain feeling of liberation that accompanies it."

Lucifer's Dungeon Premieres New Song

Ready for a trek through "The Forest?" Check out our exclusive premiere of this 11th track taken off "The Dark Army Raises," the impending album from Lucifer's Dungeon.

Lucifer's Dungeon was founded in 2008 by Cain Black in Thailand, where he lived from 2006 to 2010. Originally it was planned to be a one man band called Dark Cellar, and in 2009 a demo was recorded, but sadly was lost.

In 2010, after returning to Russia, Cain Black continued to write music and lyrics and later in 2014, he recruited Cerberus (drums) and Iscariot (concert bass player) from the group First Martyr. Debut album, "The Dark Army Raises," was recorded in February, after which Cerberus left the project due to his health, resulting in a cascade of lineup swaps as Iscariot switched to solo guitar, Goth Ghost switched to bass, and Denis Goncharov (Gromm) became the drummer.

"The Dark Army Raises" consists of both full ambient music and classic black metal tracks, with some songs combining these two genres. Pre-orders are online here. Due out May 7th, the album's track listing is as follows: More...

Jim Matheos Announces Ambient Project

Jim Matheos, founding guitarist of legendary U.S. progressive metallers Fates Warning, has announced the release of the debut album from his new ambient instrumental rock project Tuesday The Sky. The first full-length album "Drift" is set for release on June 30th, 2017, and sees Matheos expanding the boundaries of his sound ever further.

"Drift" came together in the downtime between Fates Warning finishing "Theories of Flight" and the beginning of the touring cycle, enabling Matheos to explore a type of atmospheric and instrumental music you might not expect of him.

He comments: "With this kind of music, it's a lot about creating a mood and letting that sink in and develop over long periods of time, as opposed to the more frenetic format of most prog music."

Taking cues from artists like Brian Eno, Boards Of Canada, Sigur Ros and Explosions In The Sky, he explores expansive textures and ambient electronica, as well as some of the most colossal riffs he has ever produced. More...

Karma Zero Covers Korn's "Blind"

With this cover, Karma Zero tries to display the band's own version with hints to the metalcore and deathcore style, rather than to copy the original version with just a different production and specific vocals.

The five-piece respects Korn's original song, yet re-appropriates it to create a new Karma Zero track appearing on sophomore album "Monsters" that just saw release April 12th. The band comments on this cover experiment:

"The original words by Jonathan Davis on 'Blind' depict his global malaise and his helplessness feeling towards it and his fear of the outside world. That matches perfectly with the whole concept of Karma Zero's latest album 'Monsters.' Actually, the band draws a parallel between old monster movies from the 50's and our everyday life.

"The movies creatures are always rejected due to their difference and the misunderstanding of 'regular' people. This feeling is also shared by the one whose style walks away from the norm, sometimes leading to a mutual understanding denial. Modern monsters, in other words. The original Korn track matches ideally with the band's words when giving the point of view of an 'everyday monster.'" More...

Broken Hope Unveils New Album

Chicago's very own conductors of death metal brutality forming Broken Hope are pleased to announce details of their forthcoming full-length album, "Mutilated And Assimilated," which will see the light of day on Friday, June 23rd via Century Media Records.

Regarding the new album, guitarist / lyricist / founding father Jeremy Wagner says: "Broken Hope studio album number SEVEN?! Un-fucking-believable! I'm floored at how amazing our new album turned out. The songs are relentless and violent and dark and heavy--and ALL from a fresh and ferocious place we haven't shared before. Moreover, thanks to my new studio and the stellar work of engineering/producing Jedi - Scott Creekmore - the production is on a sonic level like we've never had in our career.

"Thanks to my brothers: Damian, Mike, Matt, Diego and Scott, all of whom brought their amazing talent and skills not just to the table, but kicked it into the stratosphere! Thank you to Wes Benscotter for collaborating with us to create the epic, sick, Thing-inspired album artwork, and a huge thanks to Century Media worldwide for being in our corner with this new album. Beastmaker Reveals New Album

The glittering technological future we were all promised has turned into a dystopian nightmare. If music must reflect the times, the hour has plainly come to reject the mainstream status quo and get down to the roots and rhythms of life's elemental heaviness. And that's where Beastmaker comes in.

Purveyors of some of the most ecstatically thunderous and raw doom metal to emerge in decades, this three-man riffing machine from Fresno, California, is manifestly the real deal. New album "Inside The Skull" is set for release May 19th via Rise Above Records, and today the artwork and track listing have been revealed.

Once "Inside The Skull" is released, the band will be hitting the road in the U.S. with Zakk Wylde's Black Sabbath tribute act, Zakk Sabbath. Dates are below, and the new album's track listing is as follows: More...
