Albez Duz Streaming "Sacred Flame"
"Wings Of Tzinacan" is the impending new full-length from German occult doom rock collective Albez Duz, set to drop on October 28th. Emerging from the dark corners of Berlin in 2006, Albez Duz -- old High German for "swan" (Albex) and "noisiness" or "rush" "Duz" - was forged by Eugen "Impurus" Herbst initially as a one-man side project.
The band's ominous debut was recorded in 2009 with singer Lars Kaeding. Following Kaeding's death however, the band stepped into the shadows for the next three years. With a lingering fire and purpose, Herbst continued to write for Albez Duz and, after an exhaustive search, crossed paths with Alfonso Brito whose voice seemed destined for the project.
In September 2014, the duo brought the band's second album "The Coming Of Mictlan" to life via Iron Bonehead Records and Archaic Sound. They began performing live shortly after.
The band recently completed its third full-length album, the thundering "Wings Of Tzinacan," at The Source Studios Munich with producer and audio engineer Michael Zech (Secrets Of The Moon, Triptykon, Ascension etc.) at the helm. Guitarist Julia Neuman has joined the ranks, solidifying the band as an unstoppable power trio. More...
Shining Releases New Music Video
Blackjazz trailblazers Shining just revealed a brand new video for "House of Control," a track from current studio album, "International Blackjazz Society," which released late last year through Spinefarm Records (check out our review here).
"It's so great to finally have a video for our song 'House of Control,' since it means so much to me," explains Shining frontman Jørgen Munkeby. "Not only are the lyrics very personal, but musically the track was also a bold step into a more varied and melodic landscape. We had no idea how that new direction would work out, but it has ended up being my favorite track off the album. I had so much fun shooting the video, and I'm very happy to present this steaming hot new clip!" More...

Damned Pilots Signs With Sliptrick Records
Damned Pilots today announces that new CD "Overgalaxy" is coming via a deal with Sliptrick Records due later this winter.
"Overgalaxy" is a steam punk concept album that drummer Don Nutz says "is built on the story of four cartoon characters, The Damned Pilots Don Nutz, Sgt Ote, Willer Hertz and Erik Space. They travel through space in the year 2500 A.C. on a 1970 ‘s hippy van customized to fight against their archenemy Gorguss and his evil empire."
The lyrics, written by Sgt Ote, are about love and hate, war and peace, past and future, rebellions against failed systems, all with the sense of humor typical of a sci-fi b-movie.
The album was recorded at Track Terminal Studio in Trieste, Italy by Francesco Bardy, except "Just Another Day" and "People Don’ t Die" recorded at Voodoosound Studios in Ijmuiden, Holland by Paul van Rijswijk. More...

"'Goliath' is one of the longest song's we've ever written, and it actually went through the most iterations and re-writes of any song on the album. We think it captures some of the more progressive spirit of 'Bending Light,' and is a great reflection of the directions in which we want to push our music in the future. We were beyond honoured to have incredible guitarist and our good friend Didier Archambault of Cardinals Pride put the cherry on top with the first guitar solo on the track."

Scum Reveals New Album
Born in 1998, Scum moved from small time garage metal band to national act with its own signature sound, an incendiary blend of Bay Area metal and modern soundscapes, all embedded in a nightmare of claustrophobia.
Such is also the concept behind up-n-coming album "Humana," where no-nonsense lyrics are vomited over a carpet of melting thrash/death metal. Dealing with different issues, “Humana” is an attempt to elaborate about human nature, what humanity means, and what role mankind serves in modern society.
Humana was recorded, mixed, and produced by Stefano “Saul” Morabito at 16th Cellar Studio (Fleshgod Apocalypse, Hour of Penance, Hideous Divinity, Adimiron) in Rome, while the artwork, by Carlo Settembrini (also vocalist of Scum) is due to be revealed soon.

Vpaahsalbrox Releasing "14 Sovereign"
Originally released by the band in 2005 on cassette and limited to 50 copies, "14 Sovereign" from manic black metal project Vpaahsalbrox is now being released on limited edition black vinyl (300 copies) through Pale Horse Recordings. The album will also be released on digital format.
Some years ago Vpaahsalbrox offered a proclamation of allegiance to the Radiant One: a short albeit powerful release at once hideous and beautiful, propagating a unique and harsh sound born of malice and malediction.
Both in lyrical and musical composition, we glimpse a nascent, enigmatic entity rising from an intimate understanding of the Enochian Keys. Here the flames of its fury are rekindled, that He might be again exalted above the firmaments of wrath. "And it said unto you, oh believers: Behold the face of Satan..." More...
Impalers Streaming "Megalodon"
Formed in 2007, Impalers is a Teutonic thrash steamhammer combining sniper precision riffs with a minefield of politically charged lyrics. Check out new Impalers track "Megalodon" below. Frontman Soren Crawack commented:
"The song is one of the most AGGRESSIVE, BRUTAL and TO-THE-POINT SONGS we've ever done. And since we had chosen to go with a kind of a pre-historic theme on this EP, I couldn't think of a more fitting subject than the biggest and baddest killer the oceans had ever seen."
The "Megalodon" single was produced, mixed, and mastered by Marco Angioni, while the artwork was designed by Mario Lopez. More...

Superjoint Streaming New Song
Superjoint (formerly known as Superjoint Ritual) was resurrected in the summer of 2015 after the original band broke up a decade earlier.
At the behest of the late Corey Mitchell, co-founder of The Housecore Horror Film Festival, Suoperjoint founders Philip H. Anselmo, Jimmy Bower, and Kevin Bond joined forces with longtime comrades, drummer José "Blue" Gonzalez (Warbeast, Philip H. Anselmo & The Illegals) and bassist Stephen Taylor (Philip H. Anselmo & The Illegals, Woven Hand, 16 Horse Power).
After just two tours, new material followed culminating in the scathing sounds of "Caught Up In The Gears Of Application." Set for release on November 11th, 2016 via Anselmo's own Housecore Records, "Caught Up In The Gears Of Application" was captured at Nodferatu's Lair and marks the band's first new output since 2003's "Lethal Dose Of American Hatred."
Produced by Anselmo and Stephen Berrigan, and mastered by Scott Hull (Agoraphobic Nosebleed, Pig Destroyer) at Visceral Sounds, "Caught Up In The Gears Of Application" remains true to Superjoint's original strategy: to spew forth an acrimonious crossover of hardcore punk, metal, and unrelenting, hostile, New Orleans-style angst. Goya Streaming Nirvana Tribute
Tomorrow, the Phoenix, Arizona-based stoner doom trio Goya will release a special two-song Nirvana tribute. As the first new output from the band's updated lineup of singer/vocalist Jeff Owens, drummer Nick Lose, and bassist Sonny DeCarlo, the recordings derived almost accidentally from their initial rehearsal sessions.
All three members grew up in the '90s thus churning out some Nirvana covers was a natural and logical choice, particularly with the twenty-fifth anniversary of Nirvana's seminal album "Nevermind" full-length on the horizon.
Elaborates Owens, "Nirvana are a heavy influence on all three of us from our youth. There was a recent article calling Nirvana the most coverable band of all time, due to the simplicity and catchiness of their songs, and there's certainly something to that. It's easy to get bogged down with trying to do something 'different,' or worrying that the notes you're playing are too 'predictable,' but we feel it's important to listen to that inner voice telling you that the next note is obvious.
"Despite what some would have you believe, there's nothing wrong with standard chord progressions, and that is one of the greatest strengths of Nirvana. Sometimes, a song writes itself, and there's no reason to fight it or twist it. We all still consider ourselves fans of Nirvana, and we are all fans of basic chord progressions and a more punk approach to writing music, so it's been a lot of fun for us putting this release together and playing these songs live, and we hope that that comes through in listening to them. And who knows? Maybe it will even have some sort of influence on our writing process as a three-piece in the future." More...

Graveyard (Sweden) Breaking Up
Today the Graveyard is being officially entombed. Joakim, Axel, Truls, and Jonatan from the Swedish band (not to be confused with the Spanish group of the same name) issued this statement about calling it quits:
"Dark clouds above the graveyard today. Due to the all so classic reason 'differences within the band' the Graveyard is as of today officially closed. This is the unfortunate final decision we've had to make after going through a period of struggling n juggling with personal issues.
"Things have gone out of hand and now our energy is very low. As a direct result of this we're sorry to say that all scheduled touring is cancelled.
"Graveyard have always been more about the music than the talking and that approach is the way we intend to deal with this situation also. What we can say is that we don't know if and when the Graveyard will re-open and return in full force. Stay tuned, stay awesome & No endless night in sight." More...

Iron Maiden Announces European Tour Dates
British heavy metal legends Iron Maiden has announced that they will be embarking on a string of shows in Europe next year, starting from April. They will be supported by Shinedown on all sixteen dates.
Founder and bassist Steve Harris stated: "As it’s been so long since our last full UK arena tour, we really wanted to get to our fans in as many cities as possible.
"We’re really looking forward to it, especially visiting places we haven’t been to for a very long time like Leeds where we haven’t played since 2005 and Liverpool where we haven’t played since 1990.
"The whole band is really enjoying this tour and although we love playing festivals and stadiums, it is terrific to return to the intimacy and atmosphere of arenas.
"The songs from The Book Of Souls album and the new Maya-themed Eddies and stage sets have gone down really well and fan reaction has been amazing.
"And of course we know our fans appreciate us playing a lot of the older songs too, which we will continue to do."
The list of tour dates are as follows: More...
Incandescence Returns With Sophomore Album
Deathbound records is very excited to announce its second collaboration with Canadian black metal outfit Incandescence. Three years after releasing the breakthrough debut album "Abstractionisme," Incandescence is ready to unleash its sophomore effort titled "Les Ténèbres Murmurent Mon Nom" slated to release October 18th. Check out the title track in the player below.
The band commented: "This will be the longest and the most extreme album that we will probably ever release. It is about despair, abandonment, possession of a tortured soul that will go to any length necessary to appease the thirst of its Master."
The album is a welcomed throwback to the sound that first brought black metal to the forefront of the metal scene in the 90s. Even more ferocious the second time around, Dystre Fjell (vocal) & Philippe Boucher (Beyond Creation/Chthe'ilist/Décombres); drum, guitars & bass) have crafted a work of pure grim brilliance, the perfect musical companion for those cold and grey autumn nights. Accompanying the music is a very carefully crafted artwork that well represents visually what they are and where they’re from; pure Black Metal.
More details about the release of the album and pre-order will be made available shortly. More...
Witchery Returns With New Lineup, Album
A full six years after their latest studio album release, "Witchkrieg," Sweden based blackened thrash act Witchery finally return with the long-awaited 6th studio album, programmatically entitled "In His Infernal Majesty's Service" and announced for a worldwide release on November 25th, 2016 via Century Media Records.
Witchery had played a score of festivals in support of the latest release, did a tour of Japan together with Vader and Watain, but unfortunately the band's line-up rotation continued. While former Dark Funeral vocalist Emperor Magus Caligula assumed live-session duties for a while (replacing ex-Marduk/Devian frontman Legion), it was only recently that guitarist and band-leader Jensen managed to gather the right new members for the recordings of "In His Infernal Majesty's Service," as he explains:
"We've sadly had to part ways with two members prior to this album; long time band member Martin Axenrot and live member (and recording member-to-be) Emperor Magus Caligula. Martin's departure is purely down to him being too busy with his other musical endeavors and Caligula had to leave the band over an unfortunate medical condition involving his hearing. These are both serious losses for the band and we wish them all the best in the future. We have however been able to find more than able replacements for our two lost brethren: Chris Barkensjö on the drums and Angus Norder on vocals. They both bring fresh blood and fresh ideas to the band and you can clearly hear that they both have made it necessary for us "old members" to step up our game a notch or two!"
Celebrating the 20th year of the group's existence, "In His Infernal Majesty's Service" showcases an illustrious and revamped line-up consisting of original members Jensen (Guit., The Haunted), Rikard Rimfält (Guit., Seance) and Sharlee D'Angelo (Bass, Arch Enemy), alongside new additions to this nocturnal guild Angus Norder (Vox, Nekrokraft) and Chris Barkensjö (Drums, LIK). Self-evidently, Witchery stays the stylistic course and continues their infamous tradition of combining the best elements of old school Thrash, Speed, Death, Black and ultimately pure Heavy Metal with dead-on songwriting precision for maximum listening pleasure. In regards to the musical approach and the recording procedure goals with the new album, which was produced and mixed by Daniel Bergstrand at Dug Out Studio (Behemoth, In Flames, Meshuggah), Jensen adds the following: More...

Riverside Issues Statement On Band Future
Polish prog masters Riverside have released a statement regarding the future of the band following the death of guitarist and founder Piotr Grudzinski and you can find the full text below:
"Dear Friends,
"We'd like to thank you again for your friendship and support throughout this most tragic time for us and we'd like to officially announce that we have made a decision about our future.
"We have decided that we are not going to do a casting for a new guitarist. Thus we have ceased to be a quartet and have become a trio. In this line-up we will prepare our new studio album. Both in the recording studio and on tour - if we get back to touring - we will be playing with session guitarists, who are our friends, whom we know and like. But the line-up of Riverside will be as shown in the picture.
"Yes, we do realise that this is not going to be the same band. We know that for many of you the story of Riverside ends here, this year, and that 'Eye of the Soundscape' might be the last Riverside album you'll buy. We know that some of you can't imagine this band without the characteristic guitar of Piotr Grudzinski and for you Riverside has ceased to exist. But our story is not over yet; with a flaw, with a scar, with a wealth of new experiences, we have decided to go on.
"We know stories of many bands that have survived and have been successful, in spite of all. And we want to be the living proof that giving up is not an option and that we can be an inspiration for others, too. For as long as we can, we'll continue to do our best to create and meet with you wherever the emotions are running high. Grudzien will still be with us. We are definitely not going to forget him. He's a part of our lives. But in order for the memory of him to survive, we have to continue. And we want to. So we're embarking on another journey and we are thankful to everyone who will join us. We shot a lot of videos, Franck is at the moment editing everything and we will post some studio footage for you in the coming days featuring a lot of new music WITH vocals (probably tomorrow).
"As far as where we are at right now, still a huge amount of work, I will not lie, things have been taking a lot more time than expected, Kevin has tour with our good friends in Myrath from friday to October 10th and we are definitely late on schedule...So far I have all guitar solos and arrangements to finish, we need to record Mayline violin parts and then mix and mastering. We gonna do our best to finish everything on time and deliver in December as planned, but one sure thing, we have an album with a very strong potential in our hands, and we certainly do not want to rush and spoil everything after so much intense work. So do not be afraid, for the moment it is still doable, but I thought I would let you know in advance and in the meantime, we have decided to give you updates in real time so that you can follow the whole process and be inside this with us as as... you guys are the label."
