Iron Mask Unveils New Album

The Belgian melodic power metal band Iron Mask is currently more active than ever before: after re-releasing 2010 album "Shadow Of The Red Baron" and afterwards touring Europe with Luca Turilli;s Rhapsody in January 2016, the group didn't waste any time and directly started the pre-production phase for a new album.

During the recording process, Diego Valdez (Helker) was introduced as new voice of Iron Mask, and the result of this new collaboration is here now: "Diabolica" marks the band's sixth album release and once again guitarist/mastermind Dushan Petrossi was responsible for the entire songwriting.

Mixing and mastering of "Diabolica" was handled by Angelo E. Buccolieri (Wireworld Studios, Italien) together with Petrossi, while French cover artist Stan W. Decker provided the fitting optics. The album will drop October 14th via AFM Records. More...

Whores Streaming "Baby Teeth"

Atlanta power trio Whores just debuted a new single titled "Baby Teeth" today taken off forthcoming LP "Gold."

"'Baby Teeth' is one of my favorite songs on 'Gold,'" says vocalist/guitarist Christian Lembach. "Donnie and I had that big intro note and feedback part forever before we could find the right crusher riff in threes to pair it with. It's one of the first songs that we recorded, and I knew we were onto something special the first time I heard all the feedback in the control room. Lots of yelling, lots of feedback. It's kind of our thing."

Whores will release Gold on October 28th, 2016 via Entertainment One (eOne). The band will join Torche in supporting Red Fang later this fall. Dates will kick off on November 18th at Slim's in San Francisco, spanning coast to coast before wrapping up at the Wonder Ballroom in Portland on December 17th.

"Red Fang and Torche are both huge inspirations, and we're flattered to be a part of this amazing tour," says Lembach. "Imminent tacos to follow." More...

Oozing Wound Releases "Diver" Video

Oozing Wound has a new video out now for the "Diver," track which can be seen below. The video is a classic mixture of dizzying, thrashing hilarity, perfectly encapsulating the band's penchant for surrealism and banality.

New Oozing Wound record "Whatever Forever" is due out October 14th, 2016. The band's own Zack Weil said of the record:

"In the past we’ve explored what it means to be a band in the twenty-tennys ('Retrash'), and how life is a pointless pummeling from the pugilist known as existence ('Earth Suck'). Now we bring you 'Whatever Forever,' a culmination of nihilism, yeah-dude radicalness of the early 90s, and the belief that taking anything too seriously is a guarantee it’ll suck."

Faith No More Releases New Music Video

Faith No More today shares a new video from comeback album "Sol Invictus," debuting a clip brimming with betrayal and revenge for the song “Cone of Shame.”

“This is one of those tracks that had to be a video, really, because it lends itself so much to visual imagery,” Bill Gould explains. “Given the song’s sense of Americana, it would have been easy to shoot this in Arizona or New Mexico, but having been to Macedonia several times, there’s a vibe there that I felt wouldn’t be out of place as a backdrop to this song. Goce Cvetanovski, as a director, understood this immediately; he knew exactly what to do with it, and along with an amazing cast, has managed to create something very dark, and beautifully cinematic.”

“Cone of Shame” was the third song previewed from Faith No More’s album "Sol Invictus," initially debuted at a 2015 Japanese concert. Rolling Stone described the four-and-a-half minute track as “a sparse, Spaghetti Western,” while Consequence of Sound proclaimed it “a tour de force of the band’s talents.”

A limited edition “Cone of Shame” 7-inch will be available on November 25th with pre-orders available soon. More...

Airbourne Vocalist Falls Off Stage

While shirtless, sweaty, and soloing his way through the encore of "Running Wild" at a September 22nd show in Kamloops, British Columbia, Airbourne lead singer and guitarist Joel O'Keeffe suffered quite the mishap.

Despite taking a nasty tumble, O'Keefe finished the show, playing while seated in a chair. Airbourne hasn't canceled a single tour date and will continue to roll on!

Voodoo Terror Tribe Posts New Lyric Video

Voodoo Terror Tribe recently announced the November 11th, 2016 release of third full-length offering, entitled "The Sun Shining Cold."

Today, Voodoo Terror Tribe is revealing another new track from "The Sun Shining Cold," entitled "Cell" (featuring guest vocals by producer Cristian Machado of Ill Niño). Check out a lyric video for the song below.

Guitarist Emir Erkal states, "'Cell' is a song we've been kicking around for a while; a brainchild of our bassist Primer. It wasn't until entering the studio with our producer Cristian Machado that the song finally fleshed out into the monster it became: a guttural/melodic/schizophrenic exchange of words between an insane girl and what are either her captors, or simply the demons in her head. And an analogy of the fact that working with the Machado-nado drove us *bleeping* bat-shit crazy."

Cristian Machado adds, "'Cell' is a metal maze, you know what you're in for when you're inside but you won't figure out any of the turns upon first observation. Each part in the arrangement truly speaks on its own. The song as a whole is anthemic, the riffs are crushing, the lyrics are romantically obscene, and the stench of old school metal vibe is everywhere.

"I remember experimenting endlessly with the chord progression for the chorus. It is not easy adding unforced melody into such a metallic composition but, if you're not pushing walls you're a prisoner to them and I am so grateful to work with bands that truly want their own spin. VTT & 'Cell,' I love this song, I love this album, it's unlike anything out there." More...

“Everything about this video is exactly the vision we had for it,” states front-man/guitarist Bryce Lucien. "’Void’ is our favorite song from the album and this is definitely the most excited that we've ever been about one of our music videos. Filming was really intense, and we got to try a lot of things and take a lot of chances that we think made this into something very special."

"Loss" was recorded by Zach Ohren, known for his work with Chelsea Grin and Fallujah, and the artwork comes in the form of a hand drawn, custom piece by Farron Loathing (Nails, Huntress). Lucien continues, “We've spent nearly three years working on this album and can't wait for everyone to hear it. Expect the darkest, fastest, and most chaotic music that we've ever written.” More...

Blood Feast Details Comeback Album

At long last, Blood Feast is reborn into the metal underground with the highly anticipated third full-length album, "The Future State Of Wicked," set to be released by longtime fans Hells Headbangers. And today, the band reveals the details, as well as the first track, "INRI," which can be heard in the player below. The album is targeted for an early 2017 release.

Blood Feast fans old and new will not be disappointed by "The Future State of Wicked," as the "holy trinity" of releases from the band’s early days – "Kill For Pleasure" (1987), the "Face Fate" EP (1988) and "Chopping Block Blues" (1990) – inform much of the new album. All the speed, brutality, and twists ‘n’ turns Blood Feast is known for are intact and in your face (nine of the 10 songs being written by original guitarist Adam Tranquilli), yet updated with modern production. Joining Adam are vocalist Chris Natalini and bassist Tom Lorenzo, along with some new blood in Joe Moore (drums) and CJ Scioscia (guitar).

The five-man Blood Feast reunited for an appearance at the NJ March Metal Meltdown in 1999, but further activity was not to be. A second reunion began in 2007, albeit only with original members Tranquilli and Kuzma. Both Lorenzo and Natalini came on board in 2010, just in time for the band’s first appearance at Headbangers Open Air in Germany (they were invited back in 2013). During this stretch, Adam began writing new material, with the band even playing an early version of "INRI" at select shows. More...

Arkona Premieres Newly Re-Recorded "Pod Mechami"

Russia's Arkona's debut album "Vozrozhdenie" was originally released in 2004 and firmly entrenched both the band and its mother country squarely on the pagan/folk metal map. The band also provided insight in to the album and "Pod Mechami" itself:

"Initially the album 'Vozrozhdenie' was planned as an album with 9 songs, from the repertoire of the first line-up of Arkona. Songs 'Pod Mechami,' 'K domu Svaroga,' 'Zov Predkov' were created by Masha in the summer of 2003, when all the other band members had left the band. [The] song 'Pod Mechami' was planned for the common project with the band members of 'Pagan Reign,' but, for some forgotten reasons this cooperation has not worked out. Later this song was moved to the debut album and became a track with guest participation of Alexei Agafonov, the member of the band 'Butterfly Temple.' More...
