Wrust Returns From Hiatus

Botswana-based metal group Wrust has now returned from hiatus and is gearing up for new shows. The band issued this statement:

"Hello and welcome back everyone, it’s my pleasure to announce the return of Wrust. Well Wrust hasn’t performed in a very long while and most people around has been worried by the lack of wrust in the scene. We are fine don’t worry, we have been on unofficial break.

"I would like to take this moment to thank all the bands that did all the hard work to keep the scene active, all the fans for their loyal support and everyone else that participated in building up and strengthening the metal family.

"There has been some activities going on this year, Vision 2016 celebrations, Botswana’s 50th independence Anniversary and Wrust s also celebrating 16 years of Brutality and Chaos!!! Come on raise your horns and Join the legendary mighty Wrust machine. Big shows will be coming up too, Get ready for some sick stuff.

"Our next show on the list is March Of The Gods 2017 More information about the gig is coming……Hell YEAH!!"

Undersmile Calls It Quits

Following the release of 2015's "Anhedonia," the U.K. sludge / doom band Undersmile is now calling it quits. The group comments:

"We’ve decided, as friends, that Undersmile has come to an end as of today. We’re all hugely proud of what we’ve achieved with the band. We’ve been honoured and humbled by the support we’ve received from fans of the band and the international doom community as a whole in the seven years that we’ve been together.

"With so many things going on in our lives at the moment we don’t have the time and energy necessary to move the band forward. All outstanding merch orders will be shipped this weekend, all outstanding gigs are regrettably cancelled." More...

Just Before Dawn Premieres New Song

Swedish death metal band Just Before Dawn premieres a new song entitled "A Tribute (We Will Remember Them)", taken from an upcoming new album. "A Tribute (We Will Remember Them)" is a medley of Bolt Thrower songs.

Bolt Thrower - who on September 14 (the one-year anniversary of the death of Martin ‘Kiddie’ Kearns) announced that the band would be interred with him - has been a significant influence on the band's own music, which has itself been war-themed from the beginning, and this medley does full honor to Bolt Thrower’s legacy.
