Controlled Bleeding Discusses New Album

The Blood Royale: Let There Be Blood on Tour
Just judging by guitarist JT Royale’s pants, which contain a plethora of patches, he’s a do-it-yourself kind of guy. In fact, the whole band’s hard working DIY ethic has led them to become one of the most visible bands in Austin, Texas. Their merch is everywhere. They’re on several bills seemingly every week, from local shows to opening gigs for touring bands. But the buck doesn’t stop in Austin. The band has self-financed an interstate tour and are currently on the biggest tour of their careers with one of the most popular extreme metal bands of the last decade, Goatwhore.
Touring with Goatwhore is extra special as their friend and Austin local, Trans Am plays with the Metal Blade recording artist. Trans Am is not only a friend, but sometimes a member of The Blood Royale. In fact, the band features three bassists. Whoever fills the spot depends on where and when they play. Tonight, two of the three bassists (O’Neal and Diego who also play in Hexist and God Fearing Fuck, respectively) were on hand to talk about their contributions to the band.
Suds flowed, smoked billowed, hair twirled, fists pumped, bodies bumped as The Blood Royale played filthy, crust-addled metal (think Venom meets Discharge) on a stop off in their hometown. Before they kicked out the jams, the entire band, including two-thirds of their bassists, gathered to discuss their tour, including an especially bloody show, and upcoming releases. Thank you to Nathan Daughdrill for providing us with professionally-shot videos of the band. More...
Lament Cityscape Releasing Split With Theologian
An effort initiated by David Brenner (Gridfailure, The Earsplit Compound) and David Rodgers (Godhunter, Battleground Records), "Soft Tissue" is a collaborative album conceived by brooding Oakland-based project Lament Cityscape and New York's Theologian.
The split composites industrial degeneracy and post-metal heft to create a thoroughly oppressive, and immersive, sonic experience. Recorded between autumn 2015 and spring 2016, "Soft Tissue" was produced and mixed by Mike McClatchey at Underland Studios, with supplemental production by Lee Bartow at Abandon All Hope, and mastered by James Plotkin.
"Soft Tissue" will see co-release through Battleground Records and Annihilvs Power Electronix on October 21st. Lament Cityscape and Theologian will perform material from the split at this year's Southwest Terror Fest, coinciding with the album's release.

Edensong Posts "Cold City" Video
New York City progressive troupe Edensong today presents an official video for the track "Cold City," which hails from second full-length album, "Years In The Garden Of Years."
As the ambitious new album, nearly five years in the making, comes ever closer to release next week through Laser's Edge, the "Cold City" lyric video comes into the public domain below. Edensong comments:
"'Cold City' is the first track off the new album. We always intended it to open the album. In fact, I think we knew how we were going to start off this record even before we had written most of it! Edensong is no stranger to the classic, proggy, slow-building, acoustic intro, but here we wanted to change things up a bit and intentionally went with something that will grab you from the down beat and jostle you awake like a triple shot of espresso.
"It's not technically part of the song cycle that spans most of Years In The Garden Of Years but I think it does a good job of introducing the sound of the record and showcasing the ways in which this band has evolved since The Fruit Fallen.
"We wanted to paint a grittier reality with this tune, and wanted it to live in a different visual universe from the song cycle, so, when it came time to create the lyric video for this song, we opted to work with the dark cityscapes featured in the photography of Scott Irvine, rather than the fantasy tinged paintings of Dan May, who created our album cover and most of the other visuals for the record. I think Scott's photos, brought to life by Nick Fiore's direction, pair perfectly with the song." More...

Oddland Releases "Will" Video
A brand new lyric video from Finnish progressive metal outfit Oddland has been issued today, following the recent release of the band's intense second album, "Origin," through Sensory Records earlier this month.
Oddland comments: "We wanted to bring 'Will' to the forefront for the lyric video because the text in the song hits base with all of us talking about a broken connection between generations. Ville did a great job with the video and it beautifully showcases some of the exquisite artwork on the album by Mohammed Essam. The song itself is a bipolar monster with at least a couple of heads so we thought the composition deserved to be brought to the forefront as well."
The band is currently booking live performances in support of "Origin," with a record release show confirmed to take place on October 7th in Turku, a show supporting Ne Obliviscaris on October 12th in Helsinki, and more to be announced shortly.

Ravencult Announces "Force Of Profanation"
On November 11th, Ravencult will release third full-length album (and Metal Blade Records debut!), "Force Of Profanation." First single, "Beneath The Relics Of Old," has also come online.
Ravencult comments: "In this first sample of our new album, one can witness a big part of what Ravencult is all about in the 'Force Of Profanation' era. Almost all important elements of the band's sound here shine in their entirety, combining our adoration for the old thrash/d-beat pace with sinister black metal in a variety of tempos.
"Lyric-wise, 'Beneath The Relics Of Old' is inspired by H.P. Lovecraft's 'At The Mountains Of Madness', completing our vision of descending into bottomless depths of horror. For us, making steps forward means definitely not incorporating modern or more complex/technical parts; it's all about honoring our roots and sound by maximizing aggression and morbidity each time, maintaining the riff-after-riff mentality while everything is executed with absolute determination."

EyeHateGod Taps Randy Blythe For Tour
Lamb Of God's Randy Blythe will be filling in for EyeHateGod vocalist Mike IX Williams on the group's upcoming fall tour with Discharge and Toxic Holocaust. Elaborates Williams of the decision:
"Once again, rather than cancel an amazing tour, we have chosen for EyeHateGod to continue on and give one-thousand-percent. This 2016 Discharge tour is super important to me as that band has been a huge influence on my life, but my health situation right now dictates that I am not able to take the stage and perform to the best of my abilities every single night.
"This is where our good friend Randy Blythe from Lamb Of God comes into the picture. We've known Randall since the early '90s when EyeHateGod would pass through Virginia and he'd offer for us to crash at his crib after our gigs. Great times and we became great friends.
"To have Mr. Blythe on board as a fill in for me on vocals for this run is a true 'circle-stays-unbroken' turn of events! Coming off the heels of Philip Anselmo doing vocals for EyeHateGod on two high profile shows [last month's performances at Southport Music Hall in New Orleans, Louisiana and the 2016 edition of Gwar BQ in Richmond, Virginia respectively], both of these men are at the top of their game. I am getting the medical help I need and will return to the band as soon as possible. Thank you, everybody... "
Adds Blythe, "Anyone who knows me well knows that I am a massive EyeHateGod fan. I've seen them play more times than I can remember, my old side project covered 'Dixie Whiskey' for an EyeHateGod tribute album, I wear their merch, I even have a freaking EyeHateGod tattoo that I got in New Orleans. They are one of my favorite bands of all time, period. I've also been friends with the guys in the band since the '90s... actually, I knew them before I knew the dudes in my own band, and EyeHateGod would often crash at my crib when they came through Richmond. Today, Oni is pleased to reveal news of the band's recent signing with Blacklight Media/Metal Blade Records. The label will unleash Oni's "Ironshore" opus on Black Friday, November 25th. Pre-orders will become available in early October.
Blacklight Media is a new label launched this past February by Chris Santos, executive chef and managing partner of the New York City restaurants Vandal, The Stanton Social and Beauty & Essex, in partnership with Metal Blade Records CEO/founder Brian Slagel.
Santos states, "One of the things that I think will make Blacklight Media a label to watch for years to come is the diversity of our roster. Oni is our first crushingly heavy signing that matches their heaviness with incredible progressive precision and classically brutal breakdowns. I'm very excited to have them as part of the Blacklight Media family!"
Vocalist Jake Oni adds, "We are excited to announce our signing with Blacklight Media/Metal Blade Records. It is an honor to be on the same roster as so many amazing bands. With the support of this legendary label at our side, the world is ours!" More...

"The process has been very intense, which I think reflects in the music, in a very positive way. Following the direction of our debut 'Forensic Nightmares', our second, yet untitled album will take things up a notch or two!
"Drums are already almost done, and during the next couple of weeks we will continue to shape this death metal gore bomb into its final form. The mixing and last touches will be done by no less than Dan Swano at Unisound!"

Asphyx Posts "Forerunners Of The Apocalypse" Clip
Only about a week left to go until the long awaited new studio album "Incoming Death" by Dutch doom/death metal act Asphyx is released worldwide on September 30th via Century Media Records. Therefore, Asphyx is pleased to debut a promotional video clip for the new album's track "Forerunners Of The Apocalypse" today.
Directed by Maurice Swinkels / Younique Film (Exodus, Kataklysm, etc.), who already worked on the "Deathhammer" clip by Asphyx, and featuring conceptual illustrations by Roberto Toderico.
Asphyx vocalist Martin van Drunen checked in with the following comment about the video: "'Forerunners Of The Apocalypse' is the first official video from the 'Incoming Death' album. Done on a hot Thursday night at the Turbinenhalle in Oberhausen, Germany, where massive credits go out to the crew there. Lots of sweat, beers, laughter and probably the loudest playback session ever in metal! Filmed and edited by the one and only Maurice Swinkels, who probably went deaf after this. A grand cheerz also goes out to Roberto Toderico for the great Mongol warrior drawings! It was the last track written for the album, about genocidal ruler Genghis Khan. Especially about the sacking of Urgench, where 1.2 million were decapitated without mercy. A fucken stampede of a headbanger, so break your necks on this one!"
The track list for "Incoming Death" is:

Sahg Streaming New Album "Memento Mori" In Full
Norwegian heavy rock powerhouse Sahg has, since their beginnings in 2004, delivered grade-A hard rock of the fist bumping and heavy-leaded sort. When elements hoisted from the depths of doom converge with the realm of progressive rock, one can draw parallels to greats such as Black Sabbath, Pentagram and Mastodon. Sahg procure a unique blend of the aforementioned while resting firmly on a heavy metal base. The crisp sound on their fifth and latest effort "Memento Mori" defies the idea of simple genre categorization in favor of delivering a damn good heavy metal album!
"Memento Mori" is out tomorrow, September 23rd, via Indie Recordings. In celebration of the impending release, the band is streaming the entire album in full in the player below. Check it out here:
Cold Raven Working On New Material
Melodic obscure black metal act Cold Raven is currently writing new material for the sophomore studio release. The band's debut effort “Equilibrium And Chaos” was released in March 2015. The new album will represent an evolution in the band’s songwriting, though confirming the style shown in the previous work.
In the meanwhile Cold Raven will be playing some live shows supporting important acts.
Guitarist Vuall commented: “We think live shows are the true essence of Cold Raven, and this is why we won’t stop playing live while writing new songs. It’s not an easy task but we feel it’s the right thing to do.”

Hevidence Debut "Nobody's Fault" Detailed
Hevidence (f/k/a Evidence) - the brainchild of Italian guitar player Diego Reali (ex-DGM) - issued details on the upcoming debut release "Nobody's Fault." The album is expected to drop via Frontiers Music srl on December 1st.
"This band is highly inspired by the classic hard and heavy sounds from the '70s and '80s, that's why we worked hard to make this album sound the most vintage that was possible,” tells Diego. “We are convinced that a huge dose of improvisation during the recording sessions is needed for the success of an original product. Everyone of us has many different musical influences and they came out in a very spontaneous way within the song writing process, we just believe in the word "ROCK"!!!”
Hevidence offer a mature and personal vision of hard rock and metal with a style reminiscent of the classic Official Yngwie Malmsteen albums mixed with power metal and melodic hard rock influences (think early Europe).
An EPK where you can learn more about the band and hear song samples is available in the player below.
