Recitations Announces Debut Release
Signal Rex, in conjunction with Avantgarde Music, is proud to present the debut offering of Recitations, titled "The First of the Listeners," on 12" vinyl this coming November 15th.
Recitations started work on what would become "The First of the Listeners" in late 2015, with an aim to create unpretentious dark music in an experimental exploration of both unusual harmonies and patterns.
Recitations consists of members from more or less known bands to the underground of black and death metal, but the band wants to keep the focus on the musical and ideological aspects instead of participating in the cult of persona, though without any pompous focus on anonymity for the sake of it.
The band altogether wield a wide swath of instrumentation, including guitars (electric, semi-acoustic, and acoustic), bass, bass synthesizers, drums, bells, percussion, samplers, analog synthesizers, digital synthesizers, sonic treatments, field recordings, vocals, and chants. It is the first magickal induction of Recitations, and is suitably titled "The First of the Listeners." The track listing is:

Auras Streaming "Infinite Influence"
Canadian progressive metal band Auras has released a new track titled "Infinite Influence" from the group's new LP "Heliospectrum" that is due out later this month.
"We wanted to tell a story with Infinite Influence using an ascending rhythmic arrangement that maneuvers into different dimensions paired with equal movements in melody," says drummer Nathan Bulla. "The inclusion of a guest guitar solo from our good friend Aaron Marshall attempts to pull the listener in at a pinnacle part in the journey only to be supervened in a destructive conclusion which returns to the initial theme, bringing an air of the darker 'Crestfallen' EP sound back into play.
"As for our upcoming tour with Toothgrinder, we are thrilled to be supporting the release of Heliospectrum with a band that shares a similar vision for relentless movement and organized recklessness, and can't wait to bring the lively energy of these songs to stage!"
Cognitive Releases "Birthing The Deformity" Video
Garden State-based brutal death metal legion (and recent Unique Leader signee) Cognitive will drop the molten bounty of the "Deformity" full-length next month.
Captured at Full Force Studio by Joe Cincotta (Suffocation, Internal Bleeding, Dehumanized) and mastered at West West Side Studios by Alan Douches (Cannibal Corpse, Converge, Black Breath, Mastodon et al), the record offers up nine tracks of sonic repugnance of the highest order.
As a precursor to its release, today an official new video comes online for the track "Birthing The Deformity," shot deep within New Jersey's sprawling Pine Barrens. Vocalist Jorel Hart comments:
"'Birthing The Deformity' describes the nightmare that is the beginning of existence for the great and terrible horror that dwells in the vast and desolate Barrens. We agreed that the best way for us to portray the abominable actions that may have taken place that night was to film in the fabled forest itself." More...

""Forever Crucified" deals with the impossibility to connect with the outside world and to conform to its non-sense rules. It's like a burst of blind anger. In promotion of new album "Theories Of Flight," U.S. progressive metal pioneers Fates Warning today premiere a promotional video for the song "Seven Stars."
Check out the clip, which was directed by David Brodsky for MyGoodEye, in the YouTube player below. Vocalist Ray Alder checked in with the following comment about the video:
"We are happy to debut the new video for 'Seven Stars' from our latest album 'Theories Of Flight.' This song is very special to me. The lyrics for this song were the first that I had written for the new album. I knew that my life was changing, I had met my lovely (now) wife who lived in Madrid, Spain and she was the inspiration for this song. I knew that I would be moving to Madrid soon, so the lyrics tended to come very organically.
"That theme would develop more as the writing progressed. Stories of change and moving on. Living life really. I found the flag of Madrid quite interesting. Seven white stars surrounded by red...Hence the inspiration for the title. I figured I would give a little tour of the city in the video since I'm now here. Enjoy!" More...

Bolt Thrower Breaking Up?
Bolt Thrower drummer Martin Kearns passed way in September of last year, and today the band has released a statement about the anniversary of his death, leading some to speculate Bolt Thrower is breaking up. The group comments:
"On behalf of ourselves and Kiddie’s family, we would like to thank everyone for their thoughts and support over the last 12 months. Together with Kiddie’s family we made the conscious decision to keep his unexpected death a private matter, and to take time out to deal with it all.
"When Kiddie joined us back in 1994, although he was only 17, he instantly improved Bolt Thrower as a live band, and no one was more loyal to, and prouder to be in Bolt Thrower than him.
"We spent over 20 years together, touring the world, with 3 different vocalists, but he was so much more than just a drummer to us. So when we carried his coffin to his final resting place, the Bolt Thrower drummer position was buried with him. He was, and will now forever remain THE Bolt Thrower drummer, our Powerhouse and friend Martin 'Kiddie' Kearns. More...

Warfist Posts Details Of "Metal To The Bone"
Godz Ov War Productions is proud to present Warfist's highly anticipated second album, 'Metal to the Bone'. For over a decade now, the Polish power trio - Pavulon on skullcrushing, Wrath on bulldozer, and Mihu on vokills & chainsaw - fought the good metal fight, prolifically keeping the underground spirit alive across myriad splits, demos, and their debut EP, "HellTyrant Rising," on Iron Bonehead in 2008.
However, it was their debut album, 2014's "The Devil Lives in Grünberg," when Warfist introduced a nuclear-powered bang: like the perfect, most poisonous lovechild between Motörhead and Sodom, this first full-length killed with power. Alas, along comes "Metal to the Bone" to crush posers further underfoot. Very aptly titled, "Metal to the Bone" explodes with a hard-charging, hard-partying attack of blackthrash-meets-rock 'n' roll. But whereas many of their contemporaries similarly offer obeisance to lust, filth, and sleaze, Warfist is truly living it here, and throttle the listener with an authenticity that's far from gimmicky "fun." Feel the full force of Warfist in your face!
