Bangladeafy Announces "Narcopaloma"
Closing a three-year gap since bewildering previous EP "The Briefcase," NYC-based Bangladeafy returns with a ripping new set of tunes encapsulated on "Narcopaloma."
The origin of the Bangladeafy moniker fuses the Bangladeshi heritage of drummer Atif Haq with the physical hearing impairment of bassist/pianist/vocalist Jon Ehlers - the multi-instrumentalist and his two sisters having been born with sensorineural hearing loss, rendering him virtually deaf his entire life. Yet this thought would never cross your mind, as the duo interlopes endless runs and rhythms with intense time changes and otherworldly texture with utter seamlessness.
With Atif Haq's drums being recorded by Mike Gatto, and all bass, samplers, and keys tracked by Jon Ehlers, "Narcopaloma" was engineered and mixed by Jonathan Vergara at Pancake Studios, and completed with photography by Brian Bonelli and art design by Kaptain Carbon.
The EP is being finalized for release on CD and digital formats through the band's cohorts at Nefarious Industries on August 26th; preorders, audio samples, and much more on the EP will be released over the next several weeks. Bangladeafy has booked a Brooklyn record release show on August 25th, with many other live announcements to be expected throughout the year.
In May, Bangladeafy upported The Dillinger Escape Plan; see the full set, including tracks from the new EP, in the player below. More...

Corey Taylor Smacks Phone Out Of Fan's Hand
Slipknot is currently out on the road performing a rescheduled tour that was pushed back due to Corey Taylor undergoing surgery.
During one stop of the trek, a fan at the front of the show apparently had some very important texting to do, which resulted in a less-than-pleased Taylor making a pretty strong statement about his feelings on texting during a live performance. Check out what he does below.
This predictably led to many taking to their own phones to voice displeasure, which created a long string of back and forth Tweets between Taylor and fans (check out the first few after the jump).

Vanna Discusses Importance Of 1st Week Sales
Vanna just released a video clip discussing the importance of first-week album sales to bands, which can be seen below. The group comments:
"First week sales. You may have heard bands talk about first week album sales, and you might already be aware that they are an important figure whenever a new album is released. But do you know why? Lord Of War also chimed in: "Davey from Vanna really nails it on the head about first week album sales. If you've ever wondered why bands push so hard for first week sales, this video explains it perfectly. It's very important and our first week sales will determine what we will be doing for the rest of the year. July 8th was our starting day and we have until the 15th."

A good working relationship between band and label is important to producing the best music we can, and we are confident we have found that in Gore House."
Boyce adds: "We're about to unleash our 2nd album ‘Self Created Abyss,’ which is currently half way though recording. We felt we’ve written a very honest album, as we kept in mind the basic rules of brutality, aggression, groove & technicality through out the writing process.
