Striker Wins "Metal Recording Of The Year" Award

After wrapping up a USA and Canadian tour last week, Striker returned home just in time to receive an award at this year's Edmonton Music Awards for "Metal Recording of The Year."

Striker earned the win for the track "Too Late," from latest album "Stand In The Fire" released this past February. Guitarist Tim Brown comments:

"Huge thanks to Edmonton Music community, as well as everyone that has helped us out over the years including the AFA, Edmonton Arts Council, FACTOR, and many others! We hope this award can bring some awareness to all the other great bands coming out of Edmonton these days as well."

Striker was nominated alongside the following Edmonton bands:

Face First - Killing Me
Monarch Sky - Hell's A Little Closer
Striker – Too Late
The Order of Chaos - Apocalypse Moon
Vanity Red - Kingdom Come

In additional news, Striker was also nominated for a Western Canadian Music Award in the "Metal/Hard Rock Artist of The Year" category alongside KEN mode (MB), Shooting Guns (SK), Third Ion (SK), and Van Halst (AB). The awards will be held in Regina, SK on October 13th.

White Wizzard Issues Band Update

After imploding back in 2013, it appears White Wizzard is finally about to spring back into action. Today the band is very very happy to announce the return of singer Wyatt "Screaming Demon" Anderson.

A new album titled "Infernal Overdrive" is in the works and a pre-sale Kickstarter will be launched in the coming weeks with limited edition items available for backers.

The band comments: "'Infernal Overdrive' will also feature James J LaRue on lead guitar. The album is 9 blistering tracks and promises to be our strongest release yet. We plan to tour in 2017.

"Wyatt is now here on the WW FB page to answer questions from the fans. Look for an official album and kick starter press release very soon!"

Fange Posts New Song

French sludge/noise horde Fange just posted another track off debut album "Purge," which was engineered by KKP and features artwork designed by guitarist B.Moreau. Check out "Roy-Vermine" below.

This is the first release of the band with a new lineup that includes drummer B.Louvet (Le Dead Projet, Eat Roses) and vocalist M.Jungbluth (Calvaiire).

The record is due out September 2nd on 12" vinyl and CD via Throatruiner Records and Lost Pilgrims Records and the track listing is as follows:

Killing The Messenger Announces New Tour

San Diego based hardcore band Killing The Messenger will join Rest, Repose along with Shugga Shugga Blast Blast on the upcoming Sleep City tour across the West Coast. The tour will begin on July 15th at the legendary Studio 7 in Seattle, WA.

Killing The Messenger also recently signed with David Ellefson's EMP Label Group and will release debut full-length "Fuel To The Fire" on July 22nd. Check out new song "Falling (Save Me)" below, and you can also catch the band live:

Carnifliate Streaming "Slaughterlust"

Slovenian death metal band Carnifliate has released debut album "Slaughterlust," which was recorded in Velenje at the Regionalni multimedijski center Kunigunda. Check out the full album stream below.

Carnifliate was formed in 2013 by drummer Grega Cestnik, bassist Lejla Kozlica, and guitar players Uroš Polovšak and Žiga Ring. The lineup was finalized in 2014 when Tilen Kirbiš joined the band as vocalist. More...

Berserkers Releasing New Album

The new Berserkers full-length album "Lock & Load" will release this coming September, with the artwork now available below.

Founded in 2009, the group's sound leans towards a modern hard rock oriented style. The following press release was also issued:

"With this new album, 'Lock & Load,' Berserkers members have the desire to produce a more advanced musical result, both in terms of composition and level of quality of the sound production, which is fully operated by Arthur Orsini, the band's guitarist.

Thy Art Is Murder Premieres New Song & Lyric Video

Thy Art Is Murder today premieres a new song entitled "They Will Know Another", taken from the upcoming three-way split release "The Depression Sessions" with The Acacia Strain and Fit For An Autopsy, "The Depression Sessions".

Each band contributes a cover and an original song to the release. The effort will be out in stores August 12 on digital and vinyl formats through Nuclear Blast Entertainment.

Gideon Streaming "Pulling Teeth"
