German underground black metal group Der Weg Einer Freiheit just announced a tour as main support to Moonspell and Volker. The tour begins on December 6th, and is focused on Spain and France.

Shining Announces Debut U.S. Performance
Controversial Swedish metal band Shining has announced a first-ever U.S. performance. The band will headline the second night of the Anticosmic Music Festival in Providence, RI on July 23rd.
The festival gig precedes of a debut U.S. tour for Shining, starting August 11th in Houston and featuring Belphegor, Origin, and Abigail Williams. A full list of confirmed tour dates can be found below.

Giordano Boncompagni Posts Album Teaser
While waiting for the release of the album "New Shred Generation," scheduled for a September release, solo artist Giordano Boncompagni introduces this new project with a trailer available below. Sliptrick Records comments:
"This is a great metal project with international flavour that includes, among its ranks the highest level of artists such as Aquiles Priester on drums (Angra), Tony Macalpine (Solo Artist, Steve Vai, Planet X) on keyboards and Franck Hermanny (Adagio) on bass, who join the Brazilian percussionist Guga Machado."
Nibiru Parts Ways With Guitarist
Italian cosmic ritual sludge act Nibiru just announced the departure of guitars player Siatris. Frontman Ardath explains in a statement:
“In the last weeks I discussed with the other band members about the past, the present and the future of Nibiru. We dealt with our priorities, goals and ambitions. We are currently working on a new album to be ready by the end of the year, and we have some important shows booked.
"We have to part ways with Siatris because we noticed that our future goals are different. Nibiru needs to work with motivated and passionate people. We will continue as power trio, as we do not want to add a second guitar player."

Reality Slap Announces "Limitless" EP
Portuguese hardcore outfit Reality Slap has signed with War Records, founded by Andrew Kline of Strife, for the release of the impending "Limitless" EP.
Coming straight out of the streets of Lisbon, Portugal, Reality Slap is ready to show the world that great hardcore music exists beyond the confines of the United States. Reality Slap combines the best of old school aggressive sounds with a modern, groove-based hardcore vibe.
"Limitless" was recorded at Eyeball Studios in Portugal and is set to be released in the fall of 2016 on War Records. An official release date, further audio previews, tour dates and more will be posted in the coming days. More...
Tribulation Announces "The Horror" Re-Issue
Tribulation's 2009 debut album, "The Horror," will be re-released on vinyl on August 19th via Century Media Records. This new version will come with gatefold cover (printed on inside out cardboard), A2 poster, LP size booklet (similar to the 7" size booklet of the original version) and 180 g vinyl. DGM Posts "The Secret Part 1"
Frontiers Music Srl will release the brand new album from Italian prog metal masters DGM, entitled "The Passage," on August 26th.
"The Passage" is DGM's eighth studio album and is the culmination of almost 20 years of hard work that started back in 1997 with the release of self-produced mini-album, "Random Access Zone."
Today DGM releases the second song from "The Passage." Get a first listen to the track "The Secret Part 1" below. The band comments:

Into The Storm Announces New Album
The Seattle noise makers from Into The Storm have returned with their latest effort, "Where the Merfalo Roam," which will be released on November 11th via Alive and Breathing Records. The band comments:
"We are super excited to release this album as it captures the most accurate representation of seeing us play live we have ever recorded. The concept behind 'Where the Merfalo Roam' is a journey through discontent, oppressive governments, dystopian eras, and the connection between the cycles societies go through.
"The artwork depicts the mouth of a giant mythical creature that devours chunks of societies with bits of them still stuck against it's teeth and the creatures that are still feasting upon them. 'Where the Merfalo Roam' is a call to a bygone era where great waters covered much of the open the plains and large aquatic mammals grazed, Merfalo. Anthrax Celebrates 35 Years
Thirty-five years ago today (July 18th, 1981), the then New York-based thrash metal band Anthrax was formed and started on the road to help change the history of music. Said co-founder Scott Ian:
"Thirty-five years have passed since that day and my life has changed profoundly. I am a husband, I am a father. I am a long way from the 17-year-old soon-to-be-college dropout who co-founded a heavy metal band. The only thing that hasn't changed in 35 years, the one constant, is that I am still the rhythm guitar player in Anthrax. It's what I GET to do. I GET to play in a band and I never take that for granted."
Over that 35-year period, Anthrax has sold in excess of 10 million units, received multiple Gold and Platinum certifications, six Grammy nominations and a host of other accolades from the media, industry, and fans. Head here for a breakdown of 35 years of Anthrax history.
So, with all those years, all those experiences, all those memories, what's the one big takeaway experience that stands out for the guys? Was it when author Stephen King included the band in one of his" Dark Tower" series books? Or in 2012 when Anthrax became the first metal band to have its music played on Mars, when NASA played "Got The Time" to wake up the Mars rover? Or how about in 1991 when receiving a first Grammy nomination? Or possibly it was when Anthrax made a cameo appearance on th 1992 TV series, "Married...with Children."
Charlie Benante recalls: "We had such a ball doing that show. We taped the episode twice, once in the afternoon then another one in the evening, which was done with rewrites. They changed some of our lines, but we got bigger laughs the second time so it was all worth it. After the show, we went to a sit-down dinner with the entire cast and crew at a restaurant in Hollywood. Here I am sitting next to Al Bundy [played by actor Ed O'Neill), and I look over at the booth across from us, and there are Clint Eastwood and Morgan Freeman having dinner. Al said, 'hey, let's go talk to Clint and Morgan,' and I went 'whaaaaa???' He took us over there and introduced us to them - and I'm thinking 'where am I? Am I here right now? This is actually happening?' It was just surreal. That stands out as one of the highlights. It wasn't really a musical thing, but music got us to that. I'm just a guy in a band making music...what am I doing here with these stars?" More...
Negative Thought Process Reveals Album Details
On September 16th, 2016 Hibernacula Records will release "Methylene Butterfly," the debut record by crust/grind/industrial/power violence duo Negative Thought Process.
The record, which is a side project of Daniel Page (Victorian Whore Dogs, Exquisite Ending) and Kyle Townsend (Ex-Strike Offensive) is a descent into drug-fueled negativity. There is no light on this record, only darkness. The album is based on real-life experiences with drug addiction and the horrors that it brings.

Asphyx Finishes Work On New Album
The Dutch doom/death metal pioneers from Asphyx are ready to announce their new studio album release, following 2012's "Deathhammer" record. The new album is now finished and will be entitled "Incoming Death."
This new release is due out worldwide on September 30th, 2016 via Century Media Records. Vocalist Martin van Drunen checked in with the following status report:
"Four and a half years after the release of 'Deathhammer,' we finally managed to finish its long awaited successor. It will be out on September the 30th, as always on our beloved label Century Media. Expect 11 unmerciful battering tracks in the typical Asphyx death/doom style, but also the most varied Asphyx material up to date without losing our rawness, brutality and heaviness. The album will be entitled 'Incoming Death.' And like 'Deathhammer,' it's a phrase that doesn't really exist, but refers to what entrenched soldiers cry out when under severe artillery fire. Thus 'Incoming Death' implies another relentless bombardment of monstrous Asphyx death/doom metal!

Whitechapel will co-headline a USA run with Suicide Silence this fall, sponsored by BlackCraft Cult Clothing.

Truth Corroded Enters The Studio
Australian thrash/death metal act Truth Corroded has started recording the band's new, as-yet-untitled, album with session drummer Kevin Talley in San Antonio,Texas.
Talley was also featured on the band's previous two albums, "Worship The Bled" and "The Saviours Slain" and has recently shared the stage with Truth Corroded in Europe and Asia last year.
"We have worked with Kevin for several years now," comments bassist Greg Shaw. "Last year was the first time we had actually met in person while on tour in Asia and Europe as we have recorded our previous albums together in different countries. He has become a good friend and brings a definitive intensity to the Truth Corroded sound. The new album brings together elements of our past three albums and refines the best of what we have achieved and sharpens its delivery further, and Kevin's continued contribution is a huge part of that."
Truth Corroded will be finalizing the recording in Melbourne and Adelaide in Australia before mixing and mastering later in the year in the U.S. Further details on the recording will be released shortly.
Virvum Announces Debut Album Release
Active since 2007, Zurich-based technical/progressive death metal band Virvum has spent years honing a devastating craft through the release of one-off singles and hundreds of hours of practicing.
The end product that is forthcoming debut full-length album, "Illuminance," which the band will be self-releasing on September 16th. 2016. The first single is also slated to drop this coming Friday. The album's full track listing is as follows:

High On Fire Announces Tour With Meshuggah
Metallic trio High On Fire has announced a fall North American tour as direct support to Sweden's Meshuggah.
The titanic team-up will kick off on October 11th in Atlanta, GA, running through November 6th in Silver Spring, MD. Tickets will go on sale Friday, July 22.

Gene Simmons Takes A Tumble On Stage
The god of thunder just took a tumble!
While onstage at the Brick Breeden Fieldhouse in Bozeman, Montana on July 16th, Gene Simmons took a nasty looking fall backwards and had to be helped up by venue staff.

Opeth Reveals "Sorceress" Details
2016 marks the monumental return of Sweden's Opeth as the band's 12th album, "Sorceress," will be released on September 30th. Check out the cover artwork reveal below.
"Sorceress" is the Opeth's first album for Nuclear Blast via the band’s imprint label Moderbolaget Records.
”The new album 'Sorceress' is our 12th studio album since our beginnings in 1990,” says Åkerfeldt. “I find it difficult to understand that we’ve been going on for 26 years, let alone that we’ve made 12 records now, all of which I am very proud of. 'Sorceress' is no exception. I love this album, as does the whole band. I wrote the music during 5-6 months and we spent only 12 days recording it at Rockfield studios in Wales. Seventh Wonder Announces Live DVD Release
Frontiers Music Srl is pleased to announce the release of Seventh Wonder's first live album "Welcome To Atlanta Live 2014," due out on September 23rd and with pre-orders online here.
One of the major draws of the fifteenth edition of ProgPower USA was the opportunity to get to see Sweden's progressive metal band Seventh Wonder perform signature album "Mercy Falls" in its entirety. Not content, the band played again the following day to a crowd of gold badge-holders and VIPs, including singer Tommy Karevik's mates from his other band Kamelot.
The band decided to round out this release with additional two studio tracks. One is "Inner Enemy" (available below), while the other song, "The Promise," is an epic track of almost 10 minutes in length which highlights the multifaceted talents of Seventh Wonder.
Bass player Andreas Blomqvist says: "It has been a dream of mine for many, many years to be able to record and release a solid live product. Fans of music such as ours usually enjoy watching live performances, as the musicianship is often very much in focus. 'Mercy Falls' was the perfect album to bring to the live setting, but we just never had a chance to pull it off before. Finally the stars aligned, and we made it happen.
"As icing on the cake, Frontiers stepped in to release it for us, which we are delighted about. We are very happy with the way it turned out, and the mix is nothing short of amazing! Amon Amarth Announces Tour With Megadeth
This September and October, Swedish metal group Amon Amarth will return to the U.S. as direct support to Megadeth.
The tour, which runs from September 20th through October 16th, will also include Suicidal Tendencies, Metal Church, and Havok.
Comments Amon Amarth of the upcoming trek: "We are proud to be supporting the legendary and mighty Megadeth on their US tour in September! Sharpen your blades and bring out your drinking horns, because this will be a brutal show that no true metalhead should miss. Raise your horns!"
