Heavy music stands built on traditions: you’ve got to know what’s come before in order to bulldoze the way for the future.
Los Angeles quintet Before The Mourning definitely understand their roots. Possessing a grasp on melody, propensity for airtight riffs, and emotionally palpable vocals, the band delivers taught and tough metal that’s as memorable as it is magnetic.
Vocalist Adam Ryan describes: “It’s melodic metal with haunting tones and good hooks. We’ve got a clear vision.”

Following the stream of "Coils" a few months back, Helleborus is now unleashing a second song. Check out the title track to forthcoming album "The Carnal Sabbath" below, courtesy of Nefariousrealm.com. Helleborus vocalist Wyatt Houseman comments:
"'The Carnal Sabbath' is the core sound of our album; a skeletal anthem blending all the imagination and magic that we put into this album. With this piece we wanted craft a seamless structure of all our musical influences as well as a perfect image of the concepts behind the music. This track symbolizes balance and power with its brooding rhythms and sinister melodies. There is a lot to take from this track and it's an excellent conclusion to the album."
In addition to this track premiere, the duo will be debut its live line up in Colorado Springs, CO on August 21st at Zodiac Lounge. Stay tuned for more info on the impending album. More...
Approximately a year ago, Atreyu emerged from a period of self-imposed dormancy. The band played both festivals and sold out headline shows, released a new song, and commenced writing a new album.
Atreyu is gearing up to unleash "Long Live" on September 18 via Spinefarm/Search + Destroy and there is a swell of activity surrounding the album release. A video for the title track, which was directed by band bassist Porter McKnight, can now be seen below.
Drummer Brandon Saller said, "This is my favorite video we've ever created. We were fortunate to have our own Porter McKnight at the helm with the art direction and video. We wanted to make the pre-order options interesting and have items for the true collector. Grab your pre-order and get the title track instantly. Then, I recommend going to your car, cranking it up and driving fast while screaming your fucking head off."
"I'm so pumped to show this video to the world," said guitarist Dan Jacobs. "We've worked very hard on this record and video, especially our own Porter McKnight, who directed it, so words can't express how excited we are to share it with everyone. It's by far the most epic video we have ever made and the face-melting level is on 11. Warning: Uncontrollable head banging will occur."
"'Long Live' is by far my favorite Atreyu ideo, which is fitting because our new record, titled Long Live, is the strongest Atreyu record to date," said frontman Alex Varkatzas. More...
Featuring members of Those Poor Bastards and Call Me Lightning (French Kiss/Revelation Records), Wisconsin-based hardcore crossover miscreants Zebras manifests a traumatic sound of societal scorn, wrath and disease.

The album was captured at Howl Street Recordings in Milwaukee, Wisconsin by drummer Shane Hochstetler (Call Me Lightning, Multiple Truths, Haymarket Riot etc.), mastered by Carl Saff (Pencil, Lustre King, Windmills By The Ocean etc.) in Chicago, Illinois and comes swathed in vexing tales of the occult, ancient texts, and lesser known military operations.
The full album can now be heard in the Bandcamp player below, and you can see Zebras performing live on these dates:
9/06/2015 The Empty Bottle - Chicago, IL w/ Old Man Gloom, Mare

Featuring members of Sigh & Explode, Jack Dalton, Do You Love Melena? and Call:Vega, Sibiir is a young band from Olso’s underground scene.
The group was formed just a year ago, when five experienced musicians decided to get together and craft some heavy and intense tunes that would reflect their mutual love for the heavier and darker side of music.
On their first official release, the five-piece explore a wide range of styles and moods, merging the aggression and fury of hardcore with the gloomy melodies of post-metal and a dash of black metal vitriol. More...
